I stayed here this past Saturday night. The renovations did appear to be completed upon our arrival. They had new carpets and fresh painted walls. The bedding seemed to be newer(not sure how new), but the rest of the furniture was your typical hotel furniture — nothing fancy. We were in town for a CrossFit competition and there were several other events in the area, including Ultra, so most hotels were booked and totally overpriced. While I still think $ 225 for a one-night stay here was ridiculous, the hotel was in a great location, the amenities were good, and the staff was friendly. Upon check-in, Valerie assisted in putting us in a quiet room away from the elevator, then gave us directions for the quickest way to walk to the nearby restaurants. Our room was spacious enough and appeared to be pretty clean. The beds were comfortable, but the sheets were a bit itchy. My only other complaint is that, while it was nice to have a view of the lake, the sound from the bars and restaurants traveled quickly and was very loud for those of us trying to sleep. Once I was able to fall asleep, it wasn’t a problem, but it did take a while at 11:00pm. I was pleasantly surprised at their continental breakfast. They actually had a good selection of cereals, breads/bagels, fruit & yogurt & granola, as well as oatmeal, waffles, eggs, potatoes, and sausages. We arrived just as they opened at 7:00am, so it wasn’t busy at all and we were able to grab everything to-go. I was just surprised to see that they had just as many healthy options as unhealthy options — way to go!

As many have stated, this hotel is undergoing a very spa-like makeover and renovation is ongoing. The staff here are all very polite. I explained I was here on business and I had a meeting to prepare for, and they really went out of their way to let me check in ridiculously early. The bed is comfy, plenty of pillows, and everything is nice and clean. I will say it is one of the noisier hotels I’ve stayed at. You can hear everything from the upstairs guests walking about to a tv up a bit too loud. Free breakfast and Wi-Fi boosted my rating. I was also pleased to see a fridge and microwave in the room, which is always a plus when you’re eating out all the time. Road noise is minimal despite how much traffic this area sees. Best of all there are some very good restaurants and shopping right next door — as in, you could walk it in stiletto heels without breaking a sweat kind of close. If it weren’t for the noisy interior, I’d be very satisfied here.

Disgusting rooms and awful staff. We checked in mid-afternoon on a weekday and were given a room that smelled like vinegar with wet carpets. Housekeeping managed to lock the bathroom door from the inside out. Since they were still working in the hallway, and shouting at each other in Spanish, we asked them for help unlocking the door. They refused, so we called the front desk. We were told to come downstairs for help. When we got down there the manager told us he would send someone who would ‘try’ to open the bathroom door for us. The hotel was not busy. We should have been given another room with dry carpets and an open bathroom immediately. Instead the issue took half an hour to resolve. Never staying here again.

I like this place. It’s a little dated but it’s really clean. I would almost call it charming. The people at the front desk are outstanding. I wouldn’t hesitate staying there again.

I stayed here twice. I think the first time I came for a week and the second time was only a 2 night stay. Once in December and once in February. My room key was pretty… it has snowflakes for the winter! I stayed on the 4th floor in February. It’s a nice hotel. Very quaint and quiet. It has a lot where people can come park and visit you and I think it’s free. The people I came to visit would park there and come pick me up. It was very easy. It feels more homey than hotel-like. I rather enjoyed my stay here. This would be good for business trips or visiting family. It’s not a luxury hotel though. No bars and restaurants here. But that’s not what I came for. I did not hear my neighbors but I was only there really at night and in the mornings and the last time I visited my room was in the very back corner so I only had one neighbor. I did not take advantage of the breakfast in the morning either so I’m not sure if it is tasty or not.

Overall 3.5 Free hot breakfast. Make your own waffle. Coffee and tea 24×7 in the front lobby. Free WiFi. Paper thin walls. If it weren’t for the HVAC running, you can hear your next door neighbors’ conversing. Bring ear plugs. Free outdoor parking. And there’s the Town & Country shopping center adjacent.

**Called the Country Inn by Carlson** Maybe just recently changed names? It was very clean in the rooms but definitely a bit dated. Old curtains and bedspreads, antique-ish fixtures and oldschool magnavox tv make the hotel feel older than what it probably is. Pool area was ok, but the pool was just a tad dirty — give them the benefit of a doubt and say that maybe we came out prior to it being cleaned. Complimentary breakfast — cereal, waffles, muffins, fruit, oatmeal eggs and meat of the day(bacon, sausage etc) was good and being able to eat outside while taking in the view of the water and fountain was worth it. 5 min walk across the water ove a footbridge will get you to the shopping plaza which carries pretty much anything you may need for your trip. excellent location for it. Hotel staff were all very personable and extremely nice.
