Miami is a lot like my hometown of New York — overly gentrified with lots of expensive and ultimately generic food. That’s not the case at Chef Creole in Little Haiti. I had the fried shrimp and for $ 10 I got a plate full of so many delicious shrimp plus rice and beans and plantains that I could barely finish it. And trust me, I normally have no problem finishing my food. The service was incredibly friendly, and you can eat your food outside in a wonderful covered hut. I can’t wait to go back and try the creole shrimp and fried conch. Highly recommended

I don’t really know much about Haitian food. There isn’t another Haitian place I’d rather be eating at. I live right down the street from this place, um dude. I really love this place because its convenient. Their rice, and their homemade tostones are really something. I obsess about Haitian food, and Chef Creole takes care of me. :). :)$$&

Went back there this Summer… that Fried Fish with the special sauce OMG! They even have a drive thru because it can get VERYHOT waiting for your food since there is no AC but its worth it! There is outdoor seating as well! I honesty can’t wait to go back and have my hands on that Haitian Style Fried Fish. There’s nothing like it here in Boston!

If Anthony Bourdain can eat here, I can too! Cool little place in Little Haiti. The oxtail was good along with the shrimp in sauce. Also had the fritters with two different sauces! Tasty! Not sure what was going on but we’re jammin to a DJ! Watch the video!

Service is non existent but when I called to inquire about menu they were nice and helpful. There were no knives to eat my meal. I got devoured by mosquitoes. Food is tasty and delicious: from conch fritter, fried fish snapper, plantains are big. Pikliz was great. Despite all it was worth it.

yummy low key creole restaurant in little haiti. BEWARE the mosquitos! waiters have bug spray(which I only found out too late) if you need it. it’s an outside«tiki hut» that has fans, but can feel quite hot during the summer. co-worker and i shared the fried shrimp and conch fritters. both were prepared well and it was tons of food, it was definitely more than enough food for the two of us. the sauces that came with the food was also good, can be the on spicier side. avoid the lemonade, tasted like the powder made lemonade.

I always come here with my boyfriend.(It’s not in the best part of town). He always gets the fried shrimp, rice beans and sweet plantains. The shrimp is fried perfectly. Super good platter. I always get the oxtail with rice and beans and sweet plantains. The oxtail is cooked perfectly. There’s a drive through where you pull up around the building up to the sign. One of the young ladies takes your order and brings you the food to your car. Depending on how many cars you’re behind, it can take awhile.

I had the fish with red beans and rice lunch special. $ 6. Couldn’t finish it and I’m a big eater. The sauces served with it make this dish simply Amazing! Service is Caribbean friendly. Visit during the day if you can, nighttime in this area is a different animal. Enjoy!

I’m home on vacation and haven’t been back for 2 years, so I made it a point to get here to try out some food and get all the ethnicity that I’ve been missing. The service was great. The cashier was respectful and helpful when making my order. I got my food was made wonderfully and I didn’t have to wait long. I can’t wait to bring my friends down to sample Chef Creole.

I moved here from NY2 years ago and just discovered Chef Creole through a friend. Since then I bring EVERY guest I have from out of town to Chef Creole for their first Miami meal & not to mention coworkers. They all(9 so far) absolutely love it. We always get the Seafood Platter– Shrimp, fish, lobster tail and fried conch with sweet plantains and rice and beans. I LOVE the conch fried and I get everything else in sauce. But the fried shrimp is amazing too. I’m not a big fan of pork but their griot is great! — make sure you get your pikliz guys! Enjoy!

First off no menu, either to go or sit down… only pictures on the wall. Annoying have to ask prices for things. I ordered some chicken stew that came with rice and peas. The rice and peas were flavored good. But honestly, i was a little grossed out by the chicken because in my entire life have i see chicken pieces and bones that looked like this. It was three pieces, one looked to be a chicken leg, the other two unidentifiable. One was a large block of bone, nothing like a thigh or breast. Very large, not the usually chicken size. I still ate it but got me thinking later. Not good. If i go back, ill try the counch fritters and fried or shrimp in sauce. Suggestions: play some music in the tiki hut. It looks nice. Have some menus Have some real juices or very cold beers

I can’t eat without a lot of fiery tingle on my tongue, so understand when I say Chef Creole’s conch salad and pickliz are unforgettably perfect. Service can get slow during the lunch and dinner rush, but the prices, consistently tasty meals, and the tiki huts more than make up for it. Find me kicked back with a book while I digest my griot and small conch salad. For real though, because when I finish my lunch, I legitimately can’t move because the portions are huge!

Great selection of Haitian Cuisine. I took my cousins there who visited from out of town. The place is quite small but the food is great. There is a large seating area on the side of the building but it is not ventilated. On a hot day, it is not very enjoyable. The staff there was very nice but the line was way too long. We waited almost an hour for the food. If the ordering process is simplified, I would go there more often.

We stopped at Chef Creole for some lunch during a Tuesday afternoon. There was a long line for the drive thru costumers, but counter service was pretty quick. They have only outdoor seating, where they kindly bring you your food after you’ve ordered it. Everything we had was delicious and the portions were quite big, as they give you plenty of rice(white, yellow, or brown w/red beans) with your entrees. The Fish in Sauce(red snapper) was very tasty, as the sauce was really flavorful, and the fish seemed pretty fresh. The Creole Shrimp was quite good too, but nothing extraordinary. We also had the Conch Fritters, and they were also pretty good, but I didn’t taste too much conch in them, but my girlfriend disagrees with me on that. She liked them a lot more than I did. Their dipping sauces were also very good, tarter, and some other mildly spicy vinegar type sauce. You get 2 sides with each entrée, and it’s actually a lot of food. I would presume that most ladies would have trouble finishing an entire entrée. So, if you’re going to order appetizers along with your entrees, be prepared to have some leftovers to take home. Great food, good value, lots of flavor, big portions, with friendly and courteous staff. Thumbs up all around for this joint in Little Haiti!

«Do you mind going a little ‘hood?» my Haitian friend said. «It’s just a shack but this is where you go for Haitian food.» My friend was right. Chef Creole is not fancy. It really is an outdoor shack. Totally a neighborhood place. And the food was some of the best stateside Caribbean fare I’ve ever had. Price was so right too. For $ 24, we got a whole grilled snapper in a lovely broth sauce, and a fried shrimp platter. They both came with heaping mounds of rice and black beans. Each entrée also included a choice of two plantains, either green or regular. We chose green. They were fried and very hearty — like little flattened fried biscuit. Each entrée also came with a delicious tartar-type sauce, plus a Creole pickled cole slaw that was spicy — but the bomb if you like sour and spicy. Chef Creole has five locations around Miami. Also has a catering menu. Definitely worth checking out. The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. P. S. — There was some sort of cream rum drink listed on wall menu. But when I asked about it, the staff said it had to be special ordered. Sounded delish.

Precisely as everyone else’s reviews reflect, allow yourself at least an hour, sit back, enjoy the nice patio, perhaps a cold Haitian beer if you’re lucky, and think about that awesome snapper that’s about to come your way. Without much guidance, i don’t know that I would have wandered to this place alone. But with help from a knowledgeable friend in the car, we found this little gem of a shack. We get there and seat ourselves on the patio, only to wait a solid 15 minutes for beverages. It took our server at least 10 of those minutes to figure out that her beer wasn’t cold, so we settled for a Corona instead. To hurry things along after noticing the building line at the to go window and sudden conversation from other guests who’s food was taking too long, we went ahead and ordered everything. Thank god we did, because it took about 35 minutes to get it all to the table. Conch fritters with the tartar sauce = friggin epic. Like, buttery, lightly battered, yummy balls of deliciousness! Instant gratification ensued. Whole fried red snapper with beans and rice = traditional dish so tasty, but beware of the tiny bones. I also found myself wishing they’d left the cheeks in the fish, but to no avail, all I found was crispy skin. I would advice putting the Pickliz on EVERYTHING! I’d never had oxtail before, but this seemed like the right place to order the rich and tender meat. Everything was awesome, food wise. But the service is beyond whack. I’m still gonna come back for my fix when in Little Haiti!

You definitely come to this place for the food, not the service, so… you’re warned. When I go I always say that I will try something different but I always end up ordering the oxtail, it’s so tender and spicy, I love it. When we got there they offered a sample of their fried shrimp, which we ordered, and it was delicious. We waited what it felt like eternity for our food, they need to be a little more organized when they’re serving people in the tiki hut, when I got my food, it came out wrong, I wanted green plantains and they brought me sweet ones, so they took my food and had to wait even longer!!! Ugh!!! Just my luck! But in the end, my food was very flavorful. I think it’s a better idea if you call and order your food before getting to the actual restaurant.
