This place is really fun, very casual and down-to-earth considering its location. Cocktails are made by the experts and are outrageously good. Menu selection is eccentric but food is nothing less than otherworldly. The burger was a sloppy, rib-sticking delight. Another night there was a special brisket sandwich that was an incredible blend of kosher deli meets barbacoa meets American barbecue. Staff is attentive, hospitable and entertaining. If you want to get a heavy buzz on followed by a dollop of fresh, inventive bar food without attitude or breaking the bank, this is the place for you.

My girlfriend and I visited Miami Beach for the first time last week and ended up coming to Sweet Liberty three out of four nights. Why? Because it was super fun – that’s freaking why! The cocktails were clever and delicious – but not like«Oh that’s pretty good» delicious. More like«WHAAAAAAT?!» delicious. Like«WTF is IN that?» tasty. Like«Oh no he DIDN’T» delectable. The staff were really friendly and made us feel like locals immediately. Gotta give a special shout out to Curt, one of the most knowledgable and fun bartenders I’ve met in all my days. Homeboy was blowing my mind with the concoctions and cracking me up with the outlandishness. We highly, highly recommend this place if you are visiting Miami Beach. Like, if you visit Miami Beach, and you don’t go visit Curt at Sweet Liberty, you’re doing it wrong. Do it right. You’re welcome.

One of my favorite places on the beach! Joshua was extremely nice and made me a wonderful cocktail. Curt was also great and contributed to our wonderful night. Looking forward to my next night out here!

Can not say enough positive things about my experience here. Bartender, think it was Trevor?(Sorry if I got it wrong) was amazing. We would just give him flavors and he would confidently produce drinks to match. Great selection of liquor, music was perfect. All in all a great time.

4 stars for cocktails only. The cocktails are a must, the food menu is not. We ordered burgers on the last night of my trip. They were heavy, greasy and not as good as I had anticipated — considering the cocktails are great! They have a unique drink list and I enjoyed the margaritas.

No pictures on here do this place justice. One of the more beautiful bars I’ve seen and the best part is is that they actually use all of the liquor and bitters on it, not just for decoration. Was so easy to describe a certain kind of cocktail I’m into and they busted out some amazing creations. Oh, and the fooooood! So good. Highly recommend it all! Found ourselves going back each night back and forth between here and Broken Shaker. Both amazing spots and so well curated.

I like this local spot. I believe they have all kind of liqueurs. Really good mixed drinks, food is pretty decent. Price is affordable for SOBE.

This review is for a Thursday night at Sweet Liberty. This is a great bar if you’re looking for a place to start out your night or stay until 5am. The drinks are reasonably priced for SoBe and very well crafted. The service in our booth was terrific given there was a decent crowd at the bar. The drinks came out within 3 – 5 mins of ordering which I consider great for craft cocktails. Make sure to try the Beast of Bourbon and the Torta. The music was a great selection of not-your-typical 90s-2000s hip hop and RnB and kept us entertained all night. Enjoyable experience all around!

Walking in you immediately appreciate the retro yet edgy décor. It’s dark but with little spots of light creating intimate areas in the seating if that’s something you might desire. Otherwise you can belly up to the bar or hang out at the shuffleboard table watching a game. Drinks are creative and excellent! Our group tried many and all were successes. Including the budget busting banana julep. We had to try it. Delicious! Not sure it’s worth $ 25 but pretty wonderful. What we were surprised by was the food. Incredible! Not your average bar food. Go here for the food and drink water if you like. It’s that good! Don’t miss the chicken entrée with couscous. Or the crab toast. Unique and so yummy! Our favorite salad was the fried green tomato. Mm mm! A new spot that is sure to please all ages!

Cocktails here are on par with SF or NYC cocktail bars. Sit at the bar, talk to the bartenders, ask them for recommendations(both within their menu and other cocktail bars on the beach. There are quite a few). Kitchen is open LATE :) and food menu could grow a bit. But I never went for food :) My absolute favorite cocktail by far was the Miami Mason(recipe uploaded in the photos section).

Go to this place for the drinks. The list of special cocktails is just that: special. They’re creative, and they’re expertly made. We went to Sweet Liberty for a friend’s birthday, so we were a pretty big party. Every time. New drink came to the table, we passed it around so everybody got to try it. Every one was great – including two off-the-menu cocktails the bartenders improvised based on the cues«spicy» and«rum.» Awesome. My favorites were the Old Pal(a whiskey take on a negroni) and the spicy vodka concoction. The food was somewhat less successful, and should be three stars. The burger was pretty good: very moist and flavorful with good twice-fried shoestring potatoes. But the cauliflower nachos didn’t live up to expectation. The idea is good – but the puddles of drippy, day-glow cheese we were expecting were nowhere in sight. They use queso blanco and cheese sauce. Odd. But there’s enough nachos to fill a casserole dish.(We took the leftovers home, sprinkled tons of Publix shredded cheese over them, popped them in the oven, and had leftovers that were FAR better than the original.) The bar has a cool vibe, but the music is(too) loud, especially if you are trying to have a conversation. The crowd avoids being douchey, but just barely. It could easily slide into being a hipster den.(I hope it does not.) The service was cheerful, but confused and, for the food, painfully slow. Luckily we weren’t in a hurry, and they were willing to split a very complicated table of couples into separate checks. So – not your usual four-star Unilocal experience, but the cocktails made up for it, and we enjoyed ourselves.

Sweet Liberty, I love you so much. I want to keep you all to myself but that would, well, be selfish. You remind me of the great Williamsburg bars I so greatly miss. I mean, hell, you even have shuffleboard! You know I’m a sucker for the neon lights and I swoon over your strong, yet delicious drinks. Your nachos were excited me with their zesty sweetness. Who would think to put pomegranate and jalapeños together? It was divine. I only wish I hadn’t stumbled upon you at 2am. I would have stayed longer had I not had corporate responsibilities take the wind out of my sails. You better believe I’ll be back — well rested and crew in tow.

Absolutely in love with this place!!! True artists here behind the bar. I love a spicy cocktail and both bartenders who provided service made excellent cocktails every time. Plus you cannot go wrong with their vibe!

Sweet new neighborhood bar. Fun, casual, yet trendy, Sweet Liberty is mixing up libations for your pleasure. I have stopped in during daytime hours and on evenings. You can count on a good selection of cocktails and music. My go to is the old fashioned, never disappoints. And if you’re hungry, try their cauliflower nachos. They are so delicious! On sundays they have $ 5 rosé wine and a special on blue point oysters. I love that this place never has a line and there is no cover. A great after dinner cocktail bar or all nighter. Sweet Liberty sure is sweet!

Oh, Sweet Liberty! The restaurant is a completely unassuming speakeasy-style, rustic interior décor, cool attitude, fabulous eats, and a long drink list kind of spot. It’s a place I could spend a good amount of time at, knocking back a few moscow mules or sazeracs with some good company at the bar-top or in the largely-cushioned booths. The ambiance is cozy with my favorite kind of industrial, pendant lights and the service cordial and friendly. We came in on a Sunday night and it was the quietest I’ve ever experienced South Beach; honestly, I felt like I was transported back to the heart of Austin, Texas. The restaurant had a few people at the bar, but wasn’t busy at all. We were intrigued by the menu selections of «cauliflower nachos» and«beet deviled eggs», so naturally we ordered both immediately. The nachos came out just 10 minutes after in a mega baking dish and the presentation of the food was just fab. The nachos were garnished with sliced radish, pomegranate seeds, shredded cauliflower, cilantro, chicken and the most out-of-this-world deliciously smoked cheese sauce! It tasted unlike anything I’ve ever had and the flavors were expertly complementary of one another. I would order this a million more times. The second item we got was the beet deviled eggs dish. This dish made a serious statement. The eggs were slightly pickled in beet juice and had a pinkish color, although the beet flavor was mild(for those who aren’t big fans; I don’t love beets either!). The presentation again was another 5-star spectacle, with designs of smeared deviled egg-filling coating the bottom of the plate to prevent the vertically-placed eggs from falling, curled carrot slices were slid inside the top of the egg, half-sour pickle slivers topped another portion of the top of the egg with a delicately sprinkled herb for aroma. 5-stars for food, 5-stars for vibe and restaurant design, and 5-stars for service. I can’t wait to show my friends and come back for happy hour 4−7~ Cheers.

Wasn’t too impressed by Sweet Liberty. On a Saturday night in Miami Beach, this place was pretty lonely. We came for a friends bday party, so our group pretty much took over the place. I realize it just opened so not too many people have heard about it. Still if your looking to have a group gathering than this will do just fine. Plenty of room by the bar and while the music is playing you have room to sway side to side while conversing with friends. The music is a mix of just about everything from 80s funk to top hits. After a couple drinks everyone was jamming to the sounds. Not too much choice on the menu if your hungry. Small plates and burgers are what we ordered. The Deviled eggs stood out, but I think more so because in our group not many have ever even tried it. So it was like a delicacy. We all tried several different drinks being that Sweet Liberty is known for their Mixologists. Honestly one of the drinks I tried tasted like Bengay. The DTO(daiquiri time out) was pretty good but I feel like it lacked alcohol. We pretty much stuck to wine. The service was great and the bathrooms were super clean. Not so sure if we would return but we did have a great night.

Perfect location for a nice local spot. The menu is not that extensive offering octopus, lobster rolls, cauliflower nachos and then some. It’s very welcoming with fresh plants hanging and near the booth areas. They have Rose wine on tap! Plus local wynwood beers too. It’s has a copper color theme with hints of lipstick red at the booth areas. I tried the Blue Point oysters during happy hour(only 75 cents!) and octopus. Not disappointed at all. Actually delicious. If you want to have excellent drinks and a small plate of food, this is the local place for you
