Got a 1,000 $ Table and was charged 1,300 $. Bottles were 400 $, 450 $, 5 red bull for 20 $ and got 4 beers in the table and was charged 1300 $, my friend was told we had money left so he ordered shots, but after coming back to ny we noticed 1300 $ charge. CHECKYOURBILL. I will be contacting someone further to help me with this situation.

While visiting Miami this past weekend, a friend/local recommended Rec Room for a cool lounge that plays 90’s music. Two girlfriends and I make our way down there on Saturday, June 25, dressed to impressed but were immediately turned down by the bouncer who did not even greet us but immediately stated, «ladies no flats». Side note: we had on designer sandals but that’s beside the point. I go into the hotel to use the restroom as my girlfriends waited outside and upon returning they were baffled by how a group of 6 Caucasian women walked right in and get this, they were all wearing flats – one even had no cowboy boots. We asked the bouncer why they were let in w/flats and he states, «they’re staying in the hotel». If the«no flats» is a rule wouldn’t that apply to everyone? I went from being excited to check out a ‘cool lounge’ to being disgusted; however that certainly did not deter us from having a great night. We were greeted and invited by a nice bouncer to check out his lounge just a block away… we ended the night on a high(er) note. P. S. our friend who recommended the place walked right in with a baseball cap and jordans… wow!

Went there last night with a bachlorette party to have a good time and dance to a mix of new and old school songs. The music didn’t disappoint however as the night went on more and more people started smoking cigarettes inside. I asked a staff member if that was allowed and apparently it is here in Miami(so I was told) we left early because of the heavy smoke. There is nothing attractive(or healthy) about smoking cigs. It was a fun time while it lasted…

I was incredibly disappointed by my experience ever at Rec Room. Three friends of mine and I, all guys and all locals, went to Rec Room on a Saturday night. We were well-dressed in button downs, dress pants, etc. When we approached the front door and saw that it was empty, we decided to give a shot anyway. We stood in front of the ropes alone while the bouncer told us that the doorman would be right back. He came back and stood about 10 feet away and stared at us… didn’t say a word; neither did we. Ultimately, after 10 minutes, he said«we need more girls inside. You have to wait.» I couldn’t believe that he wouldn’t let us in to spend our money on a few rounds while the place was empty. When I asked about possibly getting a bottle and table, he had no problem offering us entry. We debated and ultimately refused. This place didn’t deserve our money in exchange for the door service that we received. That has never happened to me at Story, LIV, E11even, Bodega, or any of the other popular spots. I highly recommend against Rec Room and will never entertain it as an option again.

Honestly I was incredibly disappointed. The drinks are so overpriced for what they are. When I’ve enjoyed more quantity and quality for a lower price, it’s hard to appreciate this place. The music is good and it’s a nice place, but it’s a rip off. We came for a concert that was supposed to start at 11:30 but now it’s 1:45 and nothing has happened yet. If we hadn’t bought tickets we would be less annoyed but since we bought tickets and there was a time restriction on buying them, it feels like we just wasted our time and money unfortunately. I would not return here. It was disappointing and a complete waste unfortunately. I will not be back and hope I can get a refund because everything we paid for was not received. I wish we had spent our time somewhere else and I’ll never come back(something I rarely say).

low key club /lounge right near the action on Collins. No need to hike out to E11EVEN or up to LIV… No lines… no bouncer bullshit… We got right in with 4 guys! The space is relatively small, it’s not a megaclub by any means, but it’s low key and non pretentious. You don’t need to do bottle service. no cover and reasonable drink prices.

I came here with my coworkers he knew a guy who was doing an event so we got in no problem. It was a nice vibe. I enjoyed how it didn’t feel touristy. The music wasn’t really my thing, I’m sure my husband would like it lol. I felt like I heard a lot of rap I didn’t know and a lot of hip hop but not bad because I was still able sway and etc. I would definitely be returning and bringing my husband

It was a fun New Year’s Eve party here, and at $ 129 for open bar it was a steal. Music was perfect. Lots of pretty ladies.

Wasn’t here for very long, but on a god awful night in Sobe, this was one of the better places that treated us well. Came here on a Saturday night in late September which happened to be boyfriend’s 30th bday. Group was 3 guys and 3 girls and we showed up around 11. There wasn’t a giant line, maybe 3 people in front of us. Walked up and mentioned to the guy at the door that it was the big 30, checked his ID to make sure we weren’t full of it. In the entire group went with a «have a good night». Ok, awesome. That guy is the reason for most of these stars, and the reason why Miami bouncers are not all jerks. Inside it was just starting to get a little bit of a vibe, there weren’t a ton of people but it wasn’t completely dead. It’s half a basement and half a lounge/club. There was a DJ spinning with a decent beat, I was pretty tipsy by that point so I don’t remember exactly what music was on. Bartender girl was also awesome-comped a round of birthday shots-one for his bday if I remember right. The guys also bouncing the side doors were awesome as well. This isn’t one of the staple CLUBS that you will hear about coming into Miami but honestly I think that makes it more of a place that you would WANT to go. A lot of the more fancy clubs can be a major pain. See my Mynt review for more detail.

Fun times in Miami! Found this place online pre-trip and it turned out to be one of our best nites! Loved the music(old school hip hop and R&B and a little bit of current hits), the vibe(we danced on a table a little bit), and good drinks. No cover and it’s not on Ocean so less of a tourist vibe. Would definitely go back

Had an good time here!!! Dj played the same song 3 – 4 times lol the bar is a lil pricey. Gratuity is included, service could be nicer and bathrooms are unisex! However they could be cleaned more often. What I really liked was the a/c. We didn’t sweat and ruined our make up. Bouncers were nice. We’ll come back

The music is good but that’s about it. There not enough ventilation to allow smoking and the bathrooms, oh the bathrooms, well they are coed and nobody is cleaning them so there is pee literally all over the place. It’s just nasty. DO not wear nice clothes or shoes here because everything will stink and if your a lady trying to use these nasty bathrooms good luck juggling so you do not touch anything. YUCKKK!!!

If I could give it 0 stars I would. Such a bad experience. Horrible manager, horrible service, and horrible bartenders. If you need a place in miami to go to, check out Basement in the edition hotel, or gavanna.

Met up with my best friends from home for a girls trip in MIA. Someone in our group with friends who lived locally, suggested we check out Rec Room. It was pretty busy, chill vibes. It was all good, until suddenly we were being kicked out because a guy grabbed my friend’s behind, and in defending herself, she was viewed as a trouble-starter(for lack of a better term). A guy in charged of nightlife pursued my friend instead of the guy who assaulted her and then kicked us out for this. We were livid and our evening was ruined.

If I could give ZERO stars I would Never have I ever been so disrespected. Please tell me what type of establishment kicks out someone after they are sexually assaulted? On Friday night I was there with a few girlfriends. As I am walking towards the bathroom i feel someone strongly grabbing my butt. I immediately turn around and push the guy who did it twice and as a reflex I threw my half full cup of water at his face(not the cup just the water). There were only two guys near me the guy who i pushed and the«Director of Nightlife» Stephen Lezama. Stephen Lezama came up to me and asked me what my problem was. I told him what happened and he said he saw the whole incident and the guy i pushed wasnt the guy who grabbed me. So i asked him why he came after me instead of the guy sexually assaulting women at his club? He then asked me if i wanted to stay in the club? I said I gave three sh*ts about the place — he then proceeded to tell the bouncer to kick me out. I tried posting my complaints on their Instagram page but they were deleted shortly after I posted them and I was blocked RECROOM — word to the wise — you need to direct your director of nightlife STEPHENLEZAMA to a seminar or training on how to properly treat patrons. This place is tiny and it isnt all that. the drinks were overpriced and the music was not bumping — trust me you needed the clientele. LADIES: this is what we get for defending ourselves after being sexually assaulted — what happened to the guy that groped me? No idea because I was kicked out. He probably stayed in there and kept sexually assaulting women THISPLACEISTRASHANDWHACK #RECROOMAGAINSTWOMEN #STEPHENLEZAMAAGAINSTWOMEN #RECROOMISWHACK

If there was the option to give zero stars to this place I would. The worst service. The unfriendliest, uncaring and unapologetic bouncers, staff and management I have ever encountered at a nightclub and overall business in Miami. I won’t get into heavy details of my experience, but needless to say, I will NEVER return here again.

UPDATE… I found out that I never visited the Rec Room! My apologies to the Rec Room. ORIGINALREVIEW: We attended the Gale Hotel event on the 4th Floor rooftop. South beach is what it is. Hit or miss, you never know. The rooftop location has multiple levels which are all nice. The fourth floor area has good views, an outside bar, descent seating and a food grill. The hostess who greeted us was very unfriendly but everyone else seemed nice. The event started late…

I love this place. As a recent local to Miami, sometimes you just want to go have a good time in a place that’s not full of people trying to see and be seen. This is where us locals go to party. It’s our staple bar/lounge on a Friday night and I love the music they play — good for everyone. The location is also very convenient if you want to go grab dinner somewhere near Lincoln rd and then go out — I would recommend visiting this place. Great for a Bachelorette evening too; we went here Friday night which commenced the weekend festivities, and didn’t even need a table to have a good time. Drinks aren’t cheap(but if you’re on the Miami strip, they’ll never be so just accept it and swipe that card for your $ 16 kettle and soda — you’ll have have a good time and that’s all the matters)

This establishment is the biggest rip off in South Beach! The group I was with payed top dollar for entrance in the club and they kicked us out after only purchasing one bottle… They treated us from the moment we walked in like we were below their standard, which was extremely disappointing. Don’t go to Rec Room if you’re looking for an authentic South Beach experience because you will truly be disappointed with your experience. Considering the price of the club… It is no where near worth your dollar to enter this establishment.

This place is just so-so in my opinion. We were let in right away. We had a group of two girls and two guys and it wasn’t a problem, nor did it cost anything for anyone. Upon entering, the first thing I noticed was the crowd. Everyone was gathered at the bar, you could barely get through. Nobody was on the dance floor, but to be fair it was only midnight. The people were much older — I’m talking 40 and up. We were the first to hit the dance floor. After that a bunch of people started to do the same. I was very happy that we were able to occupy a table all night without harassment and free of charge :). The DJ played a wide variety — everything from old school hip hop to the latest ghetto jams with terrible lyrics but great beats. My biggest complaint about this place was the smoke. Holy snaps. Not sure about Florida’s laws but that would never happen in Cali. If you’re not a smoker, don’t bother with this place. We all left with hair and clothes that reeked of cigarettes. Towards the end we finally left because it got so bad and started burning our eyes! Booooo.

3.5 Rec Room is a fun concept that brings the basement house party to a whole new generation of party goers.* I like the fact that whoever designed the place went all in to make it feel as though you’re in a 70s-era basement, complete with couches, board games and tschotskes. The music is usually on point as well. Don’t expect to hear a bunch of trance, jungle, electronica or whatever the club-kids* are calling it these days. Old-school(relative term) reigns supreme and your hips and feetS will be happy it does. Where RR falls down is with the crowd and the typical SoBE service. It starts with the doormen. I have never had an issue getting in but I have seen several people who have. You can guess all the reasons. I get that being a doorman can be greatly annoying at times but I think it’s important for them to consider they are the first face of the club and, oftentimes, people will take their cue about what to expect for the evening from the doormen. This being South Beach, expect women in dresses who look as through the fabric is a.) writhing in pain or b.) asking for friends and guys who are either gelled, tatted or dressed for the sports bar. They’ll be overserved. They’ll create a scene. They’ll impact your night. I did witness a doorman kicking some obnoxious kiddies to the curb. They were screaming, woo hooing, pushing each other, and being general loud pains in the ass. They were acting like they’d never been in public before. I cackled in consent with their abrupt departure and kept it moving. Pay attention to your bar tab. After waiting 12 minutes at the bar, I was finally able to order a drink. I got my drink, paid for it, dropped two bucks at the bar and kept it moving. It wasn’t until later that I noticed that my bill already had tax and tip included that I regretted those two bucks. Will two bucks break me? Thank God, no. Is it unexpected and a bit underhanded to include the tip in the drink bill, knowing that patrons will, likely, tip again? Yep. Noted and lesson learned. As I played observer in the club***, a particularly drunk woman came up to me. «Yerr rallley coote,» she slurred. «Ahh wanna by ewe a driiink. Ewe like vodkah??“1.) I *am* really cute; thank you for noticing. 2.) I am also impressed that you’re standing upright. 3.) I do enjoy vodka but rum is my spirit of choice. 4.) You’ll probably roofie me or pass out at the bar before getting my drink. 5.) I am a Southern gentleman. It is *I* who should buy *you* a drink. 6.) I won’t do so because you’ve probably been roofied and will, likely, pass out pretty soon. 7.) Where are your friends? 8.) Oops, there you go(as she slumps on to one of the banquettes). 9.) «Do you know this girl?» I ask some concerned looking nearby ladies before keeping it moving. 10.) I take a selfie, finish my drink and break out. *Drunks. **Drug addicts. ***Walking around, taking note of the increasing ratchet behavior from the patrons.

I really liked Rec Room, although I don’t know that it’d ever become a regular spot I’d go to. There are really only a few things you need to know about this place: –Generally no cover –Great music, a lot of old school jams mixed in with new stuff. Pretty eclectic, something for everyone –South Beach drink prices(about $ 15 for any standard mixed drink), so get the party started before you come here or be prepared to drop a lot of cash. Make sure to note that gratuity is included. –The place goes from zero to packed in about 10 minutes, maybe at around 1am. After a while it becomes almost impossible to hang out, but that’s almost anywhere worth going in Miami.

Ironically I found out about this place in my own hometown by reading an LA times article about Miami nightlife. The fact that it was a no-cover joint that plays old-school jams piqued my interest so I suggested we party here when my sister asked me for a birthday suggestion. I honestly hate to let the cat out of the bag. This place rocks big time. It’s like the back room at Dirty Purdy in the old days. No cover, great tunes, and utter talent show. Located under the Gale Hotel, it’s like a house party in your buddy’s basement. The DJ ran the gambit from New Wave like Yaz to old school break dancing planet patrol to classic Biggie to hip hop. The décor is old school chic with several areas to sit down and congregate. If you get here when it opens at 11 you should have no wait getting in and can claim a non-reserved spot. My only advice is if you are coming here to do some heavy drinking you are better off getting a bottle with the SoBe drink prices here. It’s very easy to rack up a $ 200 tab in a couple of hours so a $ 300 bottle all of a sudden looks reasonable. Also, be mindful of the 20% auto gratuity added to every bill.
