I am surprised to See la Piaggia 3,5 *, I am French picky with the food and the service, and can assure that the quality of the products typical south east of France, the service, the ambience is perfect , We are regular customers my husband and me and always enjoy the moment . Pool available after lunch if you wish, a little nap on the beds around the pool after a good of Côte de Provence wine, kids are welcome, If you go before 4pm on Sunday, and can play easily when you relax. After 4:00pm more adult ambience with very cool music.

Beautiful setting and that’s about it . Food was mediocre at best, especially for the price. Service was snooty and judgmental considering we had a $ 450 lunch for 3 people.

Awful service here. Unless you have money to burn I wouldn’t waste my time. Menu items are way overpriced but i don’t think most people come here for the food. I get the idea that this place is for rich men to show off their fancy cars, watches and women. The atmosphere is a party on Sunday late afternoons.

I consider myself as a regular customer. I go there very often even on weekdays during lunch break. It’s quick and delicious. I love to eat their Burrata, it’s by far the best in town, the Beef Tartar«St Tropez» Style, the Mussels or the poached Salmon! The staff is very friendly, they make you feel like family. I would recommend to any person visiting Miami even for a few days to check it out! They have a swimming pool and provide fresh towels You eat feet in the sand or not, you can choose! It get’s very crowded on Sundays, the atmosphere changes to a Party vibe All Miami’s locals get together at la Piaggia on Sundays! BESTRESTAURANT — BEACHCLUB in MIAMIBEACH!!!

La Piaggia is the perfect place to go on a late Sunday afternoon. This restaurant is always packed on Sundays and has a fun vibe with good music. The food is good but nothing special. However, my favorite dish was definitely the tuna tartare, delicious!

Best Kept Secret in SoFi !!! Forget the Great Sunday Party at LP, everybody knows how fun that is, BUT ! I just discovered that they are open everyday for lunch. I had an important business lunch last Monday. We went there, I’ve been doing business power lunches for over 20 years. LP is by far the best, quiet /Professional ambiance South of Fifth !

This was my first time at Piaggia — I didn’t even know it existed — and I loved it. My French friend told me to stop by as it was French Independence Day, and the mood was definitely festive in here. Music, dancing and drinks all over, with dancing leading the pack. The place was packed but not rowdy-packed, more older people who do their partying during the day and go to sleep at night, ha. I didn’t drink and just had a plate of fries — REAL French fries! They tasted the same though. This is a place I will visit again for a full regular meal so i can get a better read on the food and service. But this first impression was impressive.

It was late morning when vacationing in Florida when a craving of something green and fresh hit me. My boyfriend took me to La Piaggia in Miami that not only met but exceeded my craving. Though the name is Italian, the restaurant was French with a relaxed yet upscale beach theme. The place was full and had a waiting list, but the owner came out and after speaking some friendly boisterous French with my boyfriend and the French couple we were with, we were immediately seated. A Rose was promptly ordered and it was delicately delicious refresher: a 2011 Château Barbieranne from Cotes de Provence. While everyone at the table ordered steak tartare, I spotted a salad I just had to have, La Nicoise. While it’s a traditional French dish, it has been somewhat Americanized by Julia Child. While my salad had hard boiled eggs and cooked slices of potatoes, traditionally, cooked vegetables are never used. Regardless, it was a flavor bomb that hit my craving where it counted. There was eggs, celery, green onions, purple onions, red peppers, cucumbers, potatoes and canned tuna on a bed of mixed garden lettuces drizzled lightly with a tangy vinaigrette. The lightly fruity, off-dry Rose was perfect with it. It calmed and softened the strong flavors of the tuna and onions and brightened the taste of the starches. It was a tasty, fresh and very filling dish that left me wanting to do what many were doing by the pool adjacent to the restaurant — napping with sea gulls and the warm Florida sun overhead.

Nice place, nice music, for a Sunday it’s okay, well frequented. I had the steak and a bottle of wine(the ginormous one, since we were 4), food is average, I wouldn’t eat here again, it’s just nothing special, just food. The service! SUCKS, horrible. If you go, buy a bottle of something so you don’t need service to be coming to your table very often(they would not anyways), and this way you don’t get the attitude from them. I don’t know where is the management from this place that does not pay attention to this BIG problem, I even request another server the day I went, and nothing happen. Well. Good luck, let’s see how long they’ll last if the service doesn’t change for a better

It was a Sunday afternoon around 3 pm. Some friends of ours suggested we go to La Piaggia and we agreed, since we had heard it was one of the«trendy» places in Miami Beach and we had never been. We live in Brickell and, given the usual Sobe tourist crowds, abusive overpricing of low quality food and drinks and lack of good service on Miami Beach, we do not usually frequent locales in that area, specially since there are now so many options on Key Biscayne, Brickell and the Gables to choose from. But our friends insisted that La Piaggia was a cut above the rest and we gladly made the Sunday afternoon«trip» over the causeway to check it out. We got there and it was packed, no tables available, so we made our way to the bar and decided to order our drinks and food there instead of waiting for more than an hour for an available table. Since all us ladies were wearing high heels, were wanting to order food and we were going to be there for quite a while, we looked around for seating options at the bar and saw a couple of empty chairs which we occupied. My husband looked around and saw a table with two ladies and one free chair and politely asked them if we could use it, and they said yes, so at least the three ladies in our group were able to be seated to eat. One of my friends got up to go to the bathroom and immediately a 30-something blonde haired woman that works as a bartender and who apparently is the niece of the Manager, rushed out of the bar area and proceeded to grab the chair. I explained somebody was using it but she screamed loudly and obnoxiously that she was taking the chair because those chairs«had to be where the tables were!!»(in spite of the fact that there WERE available chairs at the tables).I was trying to have a good time and I certainly did not want to enter into an argument with a rude server, so I let it go and when my friend came back from the bathroom, she was very surprised at not finding her chair but also took it in stride and continued eating her meal standing up. My other friend then proceeded to get up to say hello to a group of friends who had just arrived and, again, out of the blue, as if she had been waiting for her opportunity, this employee appeared and grabbed the chair once more in a rude and very disrespectful manner in spite of me once again indicating the chair was being USED by somebody who was paying for food and drinks there. She basically tore the chair out of our hands and left us, again, with one chair less. Needless to say, at this stage this person was ruining the general good mood. By this time it was about 4:45 pm(we had arrived at around 3 pm), the place was not as packed and we noticed some of the tables were empty and the chairs available, so one of my friends(who, by the way, was still eating the very large Nicoise salad she had asked for standing up) proceeded to take one of those EMPTY chairs by the EMPTY tables for her to be able to sit down. No sooner had she done this that this woman was back out like some sort of guard dog and made my friend get up so she could take the chair back to the table!! My husband was upset at this prolonged«attack» we had been suffering at the hands of this disagreeable employee and made a remark expressing his disagreement of her conduct. She immediately went to the manager, who started screaming at my husband, telling him to pay his bill and get out and basically embarrassing everyone in our group and in the group of friends that were next to us, who were all dumbfounded at the rudeness of this guy. I really wanted to explain our point of view on the matter but both this employee and this manager’s attitude were physically intimidating to the point that we took the high road and left after paying our share of the bill, which at that point was already over $ 300(as I said, we like to eat and drink and if the atmosphere is right, we do not mind spending our money at places that treat us well). I noticed, both by looking at their website and by having visited the place, that they want to create an image of a high-class, trendy, chic and fun place. That is not accomplished due to the attitude and conduct of these two people who obviously have no idea of how to treat paying customers and who spoiled the whole experience. I recommend staying away from this overpriced, rude tourist trap altogether!

We had brunch today at La Piaggia, the food was very good and for the $ 38.50 brunch menu, you get a lot of food :)(eggs, entrée and dessert) . The atmosphere is great, you are eating with the feet in the sand and you really feel like being in South of France :) and I am French :) Unfortunately the service is not as good as the food and atmosphere:(It is slow and sometimes rude … well too French :)

This outdoor spot is about the setting and the scene. Food is expensive, but good. The location and vibe takes you to St. Tropez or St. Barts… on the beach, with sand and palm trees, with clubby music in the background. Everyone is a star at the pool! This place is alot of fun!

Went here to celebrate a friends new job with a group. Pool, Sand, Sun, Drinks, Food and Music! On paper it’s perfect, however… Food was average and over-priced, even for South Beach. Calamari was rubber in Marinara sauce. Service was typical of South Beach, all attitude, no service. Thank GOD it was a beautiful day. The drinks and the music made it worthwhile. Oh, and the people there… eurofabulous!!!

Supposedly, this is THE place to see and be seen in South Beach, which is pretty impressive in a town known for preening. Sunday afternoon late lunch is the time to go, and it is a combination fine French bistro dining and Ibiza beach party. The food is great, particularly the steak tartar and the goat cheese salad. My La Piaggia-experienced companions ordered us a bottle of a light rose wine, which was perfect for a Sunday afternoon on the beach(Oh yeah, the place is right on the beach and many of the tables are in the sand — they also have a pool). In fact, the wine was so perfect I noticed that at least half the tables in the place were drinking the exact same thing. One oddity: there is a little shop inside the restaurant that sells knock off hand bags, and they have models going around from table to table showing them off. Only in South Beach!

Recently a friend took me to one of the best discoveries in Miami: the restaurant/club La Piaggia, in South Beach. It’s a beach club thing located across from Murano Condominiums and that supposedly attracts Miami Beach’s jet set crowd. Of course, with the jet set, the wannabes. I love going there for hamburguers or tuna tartare or pasta with white wine at sunset. Worth it the big prices.
