Service is good depending on who is doing your nails. Pros= owner will always remember your name, they rub legs with hot rocks for 30 seconds and mini 1 minute back rub after manicure. Cons=so rude speaking in their native tongue all the time(this goes for all businesses), they don’t always understand what you want, and when it is crowded you can wait for up to an hour for them to begin on your nails and then be shocked when they switched your nail tech with another. So now I have to give 2 tips to 2 different people. Not GOOD!

I found merrick crystal nail by accident a few years ago and for a while I went there all the time. I only stopped bc of my work schedule and their prices are a bit high. I would definitely go back though bc the owner was adorable and super nice, the place was clean and nicely decorated, & very accommodating.

Ok, so I get the color gel french manicure and it’s just the way I like it. it’s strong, stays long, and never chips. I always feel great when they do my nails, sometimes when I get a newbie it’s not as great, but I’m always reminded that even Crystal Nail’s subpar manicure is better than the manicures I get elsewhere. PERIOD. Now for the cons. Expensive. You’re going to pay out the nose but you will be pleased. As for atmosphere, I’m used to upscale long island moms talking about«50 shades of grey,» but if you’re not, you might not like the ambiance. Bring cash because they do not accept tips on credit cards.

I’m a laid back, no frills kinda gal so when I look for a nail salon, I’m going where it’s the cheapest and fastest. When Crystal Nail first opened I think around 3 years ago, they were impeccable. $ 20 for a mani-pedi(everyday) which included a hot stone leg massage. Always clean and quick, never had to make an appointment. Obviously, there are few business that keep up to the same quality of service when they first open, but it hasn’t stopped on what seems to be a slow decline into«Darcy never going there again» land lol. They still do the hot stone but for like a second and the stone is usually luke warm. Lately, they’ve made it a habit to ask you prior if you want to pay extra for a longer massage but what it really means is if you say«no thank you», the massage you’re going to receive will be crap. At least the massage chairs have some power behind them. The last pedicure I got has already chipped(which has never happened) and it’s been less than 2 weeks. And the girl was so sloppy I had to fix it up myself. My other girlfriend has had similar experiences but it’s really trying to find a place any better that’s not going to rape your wallet or take forever. For a mani-pedi I’m in and out in an hour. I DOHOWEVERLOVETHEOWNER. Mei is so adorable and really just the sweetest person ever. Even after a year of not going, she remembered me and always seats me the second I walk in. There’s one girl that works there, Rachel, who I LOVE but she’s always booked.
