I have a disclaimer– I don’t fake tan. And you shouldn’t, either, but not going to get on a soapbox here :)
If you don’t tan, there’s not much to this place. It’s okay– clean enough but not sparkling. First two days of my membership they couldn’t fit me in for any service at all. Also, you «need» to buy lotions for the hydro and facial so factor that into your cost.
In case you are confused, the «massage» is a massage chair and the «facial» is like a steam helmet. Not like a «regular» massage and facial.

What do you do in the dead of winter when you start feeling the «winter blues?» Try a tanning booth! That’s what I did this winter and I was not disappointed. My mood immediately elevated – and my skin developed a cool little tan. Pretty sweet.
But what makes Planet Beach better than all of the other tanning booths around town? SPA BENEFITS, BABY! First, you have the ultra-​popular hydrotherapy – it’s a cool capsule you lie in for 20 minutes and basically get steamed. There are cool lights and the bed vibrates – so it is a really relaxing experience. The treatment makes your skin super soft!
Then, there is the Luminious Facial. You recline in a super-​nice massage chair with your face under an LED light. You purchase the facial products in 2-​facial packs for around $ 10 (less if they have specials, which they always do). I have literally seen my sun spots (accumulated over a childhood spent in the San Diego sun) disappear!
They also have the Mystic Tan – the famous spray-​on tan which lasts about a week. Don’t worry about de-​robing in front of anyone for this one – it is all done privately in a chamber. And so worth the results!
I got the unlimited package for a 2-​year contract that averages to about $ 30 a month. There are so many different packages available – and you can do services a la carte.
Lastly, the staff here is incredible. They are always so smiley and happy. I just love that!
This place is my own little oasis – away from the kids for a little while a few times a week. I can just sit back and relax. Aaaaaaah, I love it!
