I never had the pleasure(or displeasure, depending on who you ask) of entering the Den before the new owner, Joe, turned it into the cool, quirky, fun place it is. The Den is exactly that — a chill place to hang out; indifferent to who you may be. The Den is a refreshing lounge on Broadway where one may wish to enjoy an inexpensive beer without running the risk of several obstacles found at other locations. You can sit with local blue-collar types, local white-collar types, people with plaid collars and no collars. Likely not animal-collars because that type of behavior is better suited for the basement of a particular bar that rhymes with«prefab.» They say it’s the little things that make all the difference and here’s what’s important to me: Lack of vomit on dance floor because no dance floor Bartenders super-heroic with both speed and mad intelligence Smoking patio so you can avoid young passers-by who preach the World According to Vape Locals do no bare teeth /weapons upon the arrival of newcomers The accept credit cards, which puts Menomonie on the right side of the year 1960.

Cheap beer. Stuffed bob-cat. Mostly a bar for the people of Menomonie(not the college students) I’d go back!

Local Dive bar. Interesting local characters here, mixed with interesting college characters. A decent place to check out a blues band, and at least to check out the mounted Bobcat. Reeowr!
