I visited Jake’s Supper Club for the first time this past Friday evening and it was an all around great experience. There was no wait which is always nice! It was very nice outside and they have a cute outdoor seating area from what I saw. I sat inside and still had a wonderful view of the river from my table. The staff was very friendly and our server(Allison I believe) was very courteous to my food allergies(dairy and soy) by checking ingredients and letting me know how things were cooked. I will definitely be back!

I love going to Jakes! I’ve never had anything bad here, the food is fantastic. The bartenders and servers are all so nice. The tiki bar in the summer and lake view is an added bonus! Always the first place I will recommend to anyone new in town.

I understand mistakes — I do. This season alone I trusted the Packers to cover the spread and bought a Volkswagen one week before it became part of the worst disaster in automotive history. However, it’s how you deal with mistakes that gives you character. My wife and I decided to eat at Jake’s for our wedding anniversary. The server came to our table with our salads and had a look on her face like«Please God, I hope he doesn’t look before he eats this.» The salad was rancid. It was slimy, brown, and completely inedible. Stevie Wonder would have sent it back. The manager came out and apologized, saying it never should have left the kitchen. I understand that, but it’s insulting to think that between the kitchen, the prep, and our table, that each person was brazen enough to think that the glass of wine I ordered would somehow impair my judgment to the point where I would eat what a dying rabbit would pass up. I spent my first 40 years in California where we order salad with a salad on the side. Once the apologies were done, including a lecture on how lettuce can turn at any moment without the slightest provocation, out came my Cajun Chicken. My stomach was already uneasy from the«salad,» and one bite in the chicken revealed a dish that had chicken that was overcooked, noodles that had seen better days, and a «Cajun» sauce that would have better been suited for nachos. I politely sent the meal back and my wife decided she didn’t want to eat her meal either. The manager came back out and boxed up my wife’s entrée and apologized again. She also wanted to profess how they took care of the meal for us — by removing my chicken from the bill. The chicken I didn’t eat. Not an anniversary dessert to go, not a comp of the two drinks we had, but removing the item which was inedible by modern standards. In summary, I paid roughly $ 40 for two drinks and compost.

Went here with a table it 15 service seemed quick but when we got our food 6 of the 15 were cold. The baked potatoes would not melt butter, the prime rib was room temperature at best along with an order of scallops. Defiantly will not be back or recommend.

Best sunday brunch in the chippewa area. Well kept secret: even the website doesn’t say they’re open sundays… don’t be put off by the street side as the action is in the tiki bar and on the lake side deck. Great food, friendly staff. We will be coming back often!

Fine dining in a relaxed atmosphere. We have enjoyed eating there a number of times. Some of the items we have especially enjoyed are the ribeye, scallops, fried chicken, chocolate cake and any of the appetizers. The only item we have not cared for is the shrimp. It was over cooked and uninspired. It would have benefited greatly from a sauce or something to perk up the flavor. The beer and wine menus offer a great selection and we especially liked the Minnesota and Wisconsin beers. Jake’s is our go to for special occasions but is a place we would be glad to return to any day of the week.

Wow this place is fantastic. You get an incredible view of that lake. Everything is amazing. The one downside is that it’s kinda spendy. But it’s absolutely worth it for the food, view, service and ambiance.

Jakes is a classic supper club in Wisconsin. The steak and prime rib fish fry were excellent. View of the water is great even after dark. Look forward to coming back to the tiki bar next summer.

Nice atmosphere and pretty decent wine list. Ate there in the fall 2 years ago and were a table of 3. Was a long wait for food and thought the prices were a bit high for the environment. Food was good and the portion size was what I would consider moderate.

(+) Prime rib, multiple cuts… even a prime rib appetizer(bites) (+) Scenic views of the Wisconsin outdoors and adjacent lake (+) Huge space, both indoor and outdoor but it was winter during my visit so no tiki bar (+) Decent number of beers on tap and daily specials It’s a place I’d also like to watch a football game… Go Pack Go!

Packers Vikings Tie Angry Wisconsin people Some fans can be torn We had set out to go to Zanzibar based on the Unilocal reviews(nice one, Meghan H.). Closed on Sundays. Bummer! Settled for the old standby, Jake’s. The setting on Tainter Lake is quite pleasant. Saw a woman on the patio smoking a heater with Zubaz on which were Packers on the front side and Vikings on the back side. Bitchin. My mother would probably go two on the visit today; I am going four. You are getting in to the green and yellow land when you get this far into Wisconsin. Got a table without a view of the game. Could tell how things were going just by the sounds of the patrons from the bar. Normally, I would be interested, but the Vikings suck so bad this year. On to the food. Got some jalapeño poppers for an appetizer. Pretty darn good. Not deep fried. Just jalapeños and stuffing wrapped in bacon. Got the lemon artichoke chicken for my entrée. Quite pleased. My mother got the walleye. Not so happy. Thinks it was Zander. I had a bite. I would not argue with her.

I’ve eaten here two or three times, and every time was a nice experience. The wait staff are nice, the service is prompt and the food is delicious. Inside it has a nice supper club feel, and you can watch boats go by outside on the lake. Outside seems a bit more like a party scene with a tiki bar. The best part about it was the oldies music that played softly in the background.

The flow of the restaurant is wonderful with a great view of the lake. It was nice to watch the boat go by while eating. I had a Jake burger, witch was a basic style California burger witch was most excellent with crispy not soggy fries. It was cooked exactly the way i ordered with crispy lettuces and the tomatoes were not soggy. It Was a great meal for the $ 9.99 price. The only bad thing i have to say about Jake’s was the waitress was a complete moron and only refilled our beverages once. I had to ask for a refill the second time, and didn’t even notice to refill my friends beverage. It took forever to get my bill and she hardly apologized. On the flip side the other waitress clearly knew what she was doing and did a excellent job. Needless to say i thought«Try harder» was a good tip. 4⁄5

A nice place on the water with some boat slips. Good food and staff with a big bar. In the summer this place is great, big multi level patio and live music on Friday nights, we go here often and one of the nicest places around Menomonie.

I really like the ambience here — supper clubbish with great views of the lake. Nice deck and tiki bar outside with music on weekends during the warmer months. I also like the horseshoe bar. Our waitress was friendly and efficient. My disappointment was in the food I ordered. My two companions were happy with their choices. I had a naked chicken sandwich and it came coated in a seasoning I didn’t care for. It was also way overcooked — dry and almost black on the bottom. I will definitely order something else next time I go. I really should have sent the sandwich back.

Very impressive. This is as good as it gets in Western Wisconsin. It’s on the water. There’s a tiki bar. It has classic supper club décor. Oldies music is piped throughout the restaurant, and there are crazy good specials on the weekdays. I’m definitely going to be a repeat customer at Jake’s. We were new to the area and my parents were visiting. I wanted to be sure to give them a true Wisconsin experience, and Jake’s didn’t disappoint. We went on a Wednesday, which meant ½ price bottles of wine, as well as $ 2 off steaks(Tuesdays look even better — Date Night is app, entrees, and — I think — drinks and dessert for $ 32 total!). Ive included pics of all of our entrees, and described them below. My father and i ordered the New York Strip for two(with sides of loaded mashed and potatoes lyonnaise), which also came with salad and bread. Delicious. My wife and my mother both got the shrimp dinner special, which they loved, and my daughter got the(homemade) mac n cheese off of the kids menu, that looked good enough to be an adult entrée. All in all, it was an amazing meal due to the great food AND great atmosphere at Jake’s.

Under new ownership for the last year and half or so — the place still exudes old fashioned Wisconsin supper clubs. We are from out of town, but come to Menomonie fairly often. This trip, we ate at Jake’s on both Thursday and Friday nights. Had the prime rib special on Thursday which was very good. The next evening I had the early bird shrimp since we got there when the place opened at 3:30. With a delicious risotto on the side, it was perfect. My boyfriend had one of the other early bird dinners which was the perch. Though offered fried, they happily gave it to him baked as requested and he said it was excellent. My only negative comment has to do with the salad bar. None of the salad ingredients looked all that fresh — the lettuce looked kind of old, the cauliflower florets were a little brown, the cut up tomatoes tasted funny — like they had been marinating in their own juices for too long. Also, the restaurant itself could use a little sprucing up — it’s age is showing. All said, we would go back again because the food on the whole is good, the view of the river from the window tables is very nice, and the servers are very pleasant and friendly.
