The service is fast and good. However, the coffee mugs are not clean. Lipstick stains on the edges of the mugs. The is pack with people waiting to be seated. I am really skeptic about eating here in comparison to Stacks. I just don’t know.

A good place for brunch. We came in here for the first time and am quite impressed and surprised by this hidden spot. We were seated pretty quickly though it was packed. The place boasts of a huge menu. We ordered the Jason’s special Eggs Benedict and the Strawberry waffles. No complaints, the portions were pretty huge and the tasted good. The latte I ordered was served in a huge mug! The service is a tad bit slow but overall a decent spot for food. Will be back whenever I am in this area.

I had a great time at Jason’s café today. This is a really underrated breakfast spot. I saw lines out the door for Café Barrone and Stacks in MPK but good and faithful Jason’s Café was open and ready for business. Ordered an spicy sausage omelette and pancakes! Make sure you give this place a try

One of the best tuna melts I ever had. My son loved his cheeseburger. The fries were okay. The service is fast and friendly.

What a great find. Easy access, not too crowded and a complete menu. And most importantly breakfast any time of day. My dad loves breakfast, and it is not on my vegan diet but was perfect today. Huge portions and a very long menu. I had Pork Caritas and two eggs with hash browns and sour dough toast. Dad had a ham n cheese omelet and home fries. All good.

This place is a treasure. Great food, across the board, and friendly down home service. It’s amazing how many different types of dishes are prepared to a high level of quality, from burgers and breakfasts that are top notch, to a spicy sausage penne that would pass muster at a good Italian restaurant, to some excellent meatloaf, and many more, my wife and I have never been disappointed at Jason’s in Menlo Park. We’ll be going back many more times.

My second time at Jason’s. I figured I’d change it up and try something other than breakfast… and what a pleasant surprise. The salmon, risotto and asparagus was delicious! Mmmm good!

Awesome place to eat. There really is no bad item on the menu. The portions are large and only premium ingredients are used on thier dish. I enjoy the salads and breakfast. The breakfast dishes are served in large portions. You def get your bang for your buck. Great customer service, servers were attentive and check in with you regularly. Food is great! This location is a hidden gem in Menlo Park. Best place to eat.

When I searched Unilocal for a place for breakfast, this is the place I found. When I asked friends for a place for breakfast, this is the place they recommended. When I asked at the hotel for a place for breakfast, this is the place they recommended. High praise, huh? No, this is just that place where, when you wake up feeling famished but don’t want your taste buds — or other senses — challenged, when you need some just plain old coffee before you even think about anything involved with acai or food with the word«chai» in it, when you want to go to the place where everybody knows your name, you go here. Menlo Park is in the heart of Silicon Valley. There are a boatload of rich people here. So it was funny that there were Maseratis and Bentleys(that’s an «s» at the end of «Bentley», all y’all) and Mercedes that start with 6 in the parking lot, but I went inside and it looks like that diner down the street from me that’s a converted Pizza Hut, with ‘80s-style chairs and overstuffed vinyl(well, might have been leather, but I wasn’t awake enough to see) booth bench padding that ran halfway up the wall. It was a little dark(whew — wait’ll I open my eyes a bit before you turn on the lights), but I didn’t need them to find my way around because it was just a plain ol’ diner, one my dad would have been comfortable in. And the food was comfortable, too. No challenges, just pancakes and waffles. Yeah, the toppings were a little fancier, and there were a couple of additional choices of things you could stick inside your omelet, but you can order without opening the menu even if you’ve never been there before. The orange juice was fresh and good, but not spectacular. The chorizo scramble was comforting and familiar and there was a lot of it, but the chorizo itself was a little less than mediocre(dude — there’s a really vibrant Hispanic area a few blocks away — consider a partnership with one of the butchers there). A waffle was a waffle; the fruit on top was good and rich-California big, but not great, and you can get great in restaurants close by — just not at breakfast. It wasn’t a great value. Not terrible, but not cheap. Thinking the real estate taxes are more than most restaurants in Alabama pay for rent, so the money’s gotta come from somewhere. And it really does seem to be the only place around, unless you want a McBurrito. I’m pretty much a morning person. I wake up and like breakfast. OK, I usually have cereal, but I really like cereal, and there are more than a half-dozen different varieties, including steel-cut oats and a couple of different granolas, in my pantry to choose from, not just corn flakes. When I travel, I know I can’t get Cocoa Puffs(unless I stay at a Comfort Inn), but I look for places with locally-made granola, interesting and excellent coffee(yum!), and omelets made with really good chorizo or super-fresh and crunchy local mushrooms and green peppers. I couldn’t find that place in the area. Great lunches, fantastic dinners, lots of choices there. Breakfast? Bupkes.(DID find great coffee not too far away, but that’s all they’ve got.) People in the area just don’t do breakfast, apparently. So I guess you gotta go there. Whatever.

I’ve experienced better service and well cooked food. Jason’s Café is not a Denny’s nor a Stacks, but they are so under managed. With only very few staff working around the kitchen, the food served had lack of quality. They need more help around the restaurant otherwise I do no see this restaurant doing so well. My experience here was a so so feeling. Without being greeted entering and nobody telling us where to sit, we just sat in the front couch until a waiter pointed to sit at the nearest booth. They didn’t ask what we wanted to drink nor gave us menus to look at just glasses of water. The restaurant was less than half empty with a few people coming in and out. I noticed after right away there was two servers and one cook with the manager handling transactions, that was where i thought we are going to be here a awhile. The service from the lady server that attended us was very friendly and complying, I could understand the amount of stress she must be dealing knowing that she was the only server in the entire restaurant. As our food had arrive I notice three things; one the food was under cooked, two there was no napkins around, three the toast we had ordered was delayed and overwhelmingly burnt. I am not picky eater i’ll eat anything, but when it comes to being under cooked or burnt then theirs an issue. The toast that we had was black front and back. I could understand the servers intentions were good, but before you hand someone food you have to be think what they are giving them. Would you eat what is being handed out knowing that there is some kind of defect? Obliviously not, but when it comes to restaurant business they have to comply to make their customers happy. Would I come back here again? Probably not, the reason — bad experience. Do I recommend it? Only if Stacks is way to crowed and have an appetite to trying something new. Is it great for kids? Its passable, they have great seating enough for the whole family, I did not see booster hairs though but they have an excellent kids menu. Overall its a restaurant that needs lots of improvement and more staff.

Jason’s Café is much better than the many of the breakfast places around the area and with lower prices. The kids love Jason’s Café. Always their #1 choice when eating out. Kid’s menu is not extensive, but quite enough for the kids to choose from. They love the cheeseburger(which is like a regular size), and the penne cheese pasta. They usually have the pancakes for dessert. The fries are the best around. The adult’s menu has a big variety of choices, from breakfast to Hawaii BBQ, served all day. The food is delicious and the price is reasonable. They even have wine by the bottle. The service is always friendly. They remember you, and greet you as soon as your comes through the door. Plenty of parking. Will definitely keep coming here.

Have been to Jason’s frequently for years. It’s consistently a good place to eat and is very comfortable with a staff that are friendly and conscience. So glad to have a good reasonable eating establishment in the area.

Straight up café with good service and wide variety on the menu. Omelettes, pancakes and standard breakfast items with big portions. Lunch and dinner is a good variety of American, Asian and Italian. If you want great pasta or Chinese or crepes there are lots of better options. This is a café that does a wide variety pretty well and is super casual and cozy.

Not at all impressed. Quite disappointed actually and I feel a little sick. For the reviewers that said«better than stacks» shame on you. I’m not like a super huge stacks fan or anything but I wouldn’t say this place is better. Had the classic eggs Benedict with bacon. It was lackluster at best. The hollandaise held no surprise, nor was the flavor ringing in my mouth. That left me disappointed as I love eggs Benedict. They didn’t even care enough to crisp the English muffin. I’ll give them 2 stars for the friendly service!

Jason’s is a tiny, odd place that looks like it used to be even tinier before a window– filled frontage was added(circa 1980 is my guess). Décor and vibe is dated with no central theme: Black and white photos of old trains line one corner. Sculptures of farm animals sit along a divider. Other walls are blank, and another side is fully mirrored to make the room look bigger. I came here with one daughter for some basic breakfast needs: – 2 eggs, potatoes, rye toast:($ 7) The eggs were cooked per my order but on the small side(I’m guessing large eggs, not extra large). The toast was good. The potatoes were boring. My coffee was mediocre and took 5 minutes to hit the table.(A mortal sin for a breakfast place; doubly so had I been in dire need). My daughter enjoyed her pancake plate, though her bacon looked oddly squared-off and artificial(?). I sampled one pancake and and it was pretty good. Service was initially slow but was speedy after that. The mediocre coffee was refilled quickly, and the waitress was friendly and patient. Jason’s biggest issue, IMHO, is that the bathrooms are outdoors from the main building and not climate-controlled. That wasn’t so great on a freezing winter’s day, especially for my daughter. And I can imagine on a hot summer day these are no peach either. Lots of positive reviews for Jason’s on Unilocal, which is part of the reason we came here. I can’t say I agree. This is really a 2.5 star place in my book, but I will round down to offset the somewhat lofty Unilocal rating.
