The crab crepes are always delish, but shame on you for calling chicken fingers on a waffle, ‘fried chicken & waffles’! What a disappointment!!!

The chicken and waffles for $ 16 looked like(and probably were) heated frozen chicken fingers over a plain waffle. I ordered the mushrooms and got soggy wet mushrooms in an inch of water with soggy wet cheese on top for $ 9. If you’re not ordering the pancakes here(which also happen to be the cheapest things in the menu oddly enough $ 8 – 11) I suggest you go somewhere else.

The food was good, blueberry pancakes so fluffy, Mexican omelet delicious, service great. The reason I gave them 5 stars though wasn’t so much about the food but the customer experience. I checked us in, the host says«15 to 20 minutes.» I say«ok» then I added«we need a table with wheelchair access» the Manager I think he was, not sure though, looks over at our Uncle who wherever he goes proudly wears his Vietnam veterans hat decorated with all his pins and scratches our name off the wait list, asks the wait staff to get a table ready that would serve us well. At the moment I saw total respect for a man who served our country. No wait and made comfortable for his sacrifices. Hats off to Stacks for making our first outing after our Uncles amputation surgery a great one…

As expected we waited for like 30 mins to sit in. I ordered the eggs Louis. The first bite was amazing, it’s a mouth full of crab meats. And then it gets greasy. I’d say I won’t wait 30 mins for it again.

So I was meeting a client for breakfast here and boy am I glad I Unilocaled this place. We were torn between the regular crêpe and the crab crêpe. The gentleman in the booth ahead of us recommend the crab crêpe. so happy we listened! ABSOLUTELYAMAZING! Also the macadamia pancakes were great too!

Love the food! Wait is not so bad and the location is great(and free parking!). Service is ok, you can tell they work really hard, but sometimes they are not very attentive(i.e. forgot to bring one person’s meal for a very long time — it was just sitting there by the kitchen). Not a fan of the coin-to-enter-the-restroom system either.

Quick to be seated. Décor looks like a step above the usual diner aesthetic, with wood and cloth instead of metal and linoleum. Menu is varied, with plenty of options, and is typical american breakfast food. I had the Carnitas Pancakes, which I split with my friend who split his Chicken and Waffles with me. Pancakes were cooked well, not too puffy, and the carnitas was sweet(especially with the maple syrup that was served with the pancakes). The chicken and waffles were good too, waffle was tasty, and the chicken was decent, though closer to chicken nuggets then the expected fried. Service was reasonable, the prices were good, and I left full. All in, a very nice brunch place that has enough variety to keep you coming back. Bonus points for the(requested) pitcher of water which kept everyone at the table hydrated, which for a Saturday morning brunch is a great thing.

Very good breakfast, huge portions! I ate here twice. I like comfort food and breakfast and this worked for both. First trip I had the Lumberjack pancakes. Unless you are a competitive eater, 2 is more than enough. The fruit and topped were great, I was very pleased with this order. I added a side of bacon and the four pieces were big and tasty. Second time I got the Biscuits and Gravy — also a huge meal. Lots of sausage in the gravy. The hash browns were also perfectly cooked and enough for a meal by themselves. Wait staff was quick and courteous. Place is clean and comfortable. I was happy with my choice to eat here. Very comfortable!

Good for that all-american breakfast craving! Standard prices $ 9-$ 17 and large proportions. Service is friendly and the space is big. I’m more of a savory person, so I’d prefer an omelette or hashbrowns over pancakes and/or french toast, which is why I probably didn’t get the most out of this place since they seem to be known for their pancakes and whatnot. I went with an omelette instead and a bagel(which does not come with cream cheese). It tasted exactly as it should, but nothing really blew me out of the water. Not to mention the bathroom situation where you have to get a coin from a worker, take the elevator outside, then use the coin to enter the bathroom.

Came here a little before 9am on a Sunday. Although there were tables available inside and outside there were still people waiting to get in! We had to wait about 10minutes even though the place was not full. So I can’t imagine how long people have to wait to get in later in the day! I tried their banana macadamia & coconut pancakes(full stack, over $ 12), the french toast(over $ 9) and had their coffee($ 2.99/person). The total came out to over $ 30! Thats pretty expensive for a breakfast place! But at least the portion of their pancake was big. As far as taste goes, the pancake was good and the french toast was okay(maybe a bit dry). The amount of sweetness and fat gets to you in a while… Maybe I’m still a little sick from having so much, but if I were to come back I’ll probably go for something savory haha.

I used to love stacks up until today, when a baby roach/bug crawled up on our table(upper level booth table). Additionally, the utensils and mugs are in bad condition, sometimes not cleaned all that well too. I’ll still say the wheat germ pancakes are terrific; but everything else is easily replaced/found in a much more cleaner environment. Stacks just gets so frantic and busy, that they have forgotten the experience of enjoying a nice brunch and worse, simple cleanness has become an issue. I tried to get the managers attention about the issue, but he remained on the phone for a while, i nevertheless let the other individual at the entrance know. Unless something changes drastically here, I wont be returning.

I had the veggie skillet and I went in around 1030 am on a Thursday. Positives: staff was super quick and VERY friendly! I was stoked when the waitress left the coffee pot on my table so I can keep refilling on my own. It seems like a great family restaurant, definitely a lot of options and keeps most people happy overall. They give big portions so it’s like getting two meals in one. I’m gluten free, so the waitress subbed my toast for a fruit cup! Negatives: I don’t know the town, but I’m sure it wasn’t the best place to eat in town. It was good, but it was diner food that wasn’t necessarily cheap. It reminded me of an upscale Denny’s. I love Denny’s, but I don’t want to pay $ 16 for a coffee and veggie skillet. The food was also pretty oily. Overall: Great family stop, awesome staff, greasy food, comfy booths.

VERY busy breakfast place. Came here on a Sunday and waited probably about 30 minutes. BESTPART, you get free coffee while waiting! I came here w/my sister and husband. My husband got a standard breakfast(eggs, bacon, bagel), my sister got the carnitas scrambler(which was delicious!), and I got the banana and walnut pancake(fluffy and perfect combo w/fruit and maple syrup). Very quick service! My server wasn’t too attentive and didn’t check on us much, but overall pretty good!

WOW! The coconut banana macadamia nut pancake is amazing! I’m definitely not a sweet person in the morning, I prefer eggs and savory items, but I was in the mood for a little sweet on the side and my boyfriend(HUGE sweet tooth) is always down for that. He ordered the chicken and waffles, which he really enjoyed! I ordered an the feta omelet, which was huge. The feta was really flavorful and tasted like good quality. I like that it came with a bagel although I didn’t need a bagel at all(ended up having half). We shared 1 pancake and I honestly wish I had just ordered the pancake because it was THAT good! We came in on New Years Eve. Parking was easy in the lot behind the building. The first two hours are free during the week. We were seated right away, but the place as pretty full. I always love seeing/overhearing return customers. Our waitress was extremely friendly. Later, an older couple sat down. Right away, the waitress repeated their order. Apparently they are regulars, and the waitress got it right. I’ve been here a few times during my college days and I always remember it being consistent and delicious, things haven’t changed.

It’s in a nice area but honestly the food was okay. I love the location! Right downtown Menlo park and close to all the stores! We ordered the banana macadamia/coconut pancake! It was a huge pancake for 9 bucks! It was very pricey for breakfast food! My husband got the omelet which was bland and mediocre. I couldn’t grasp what the big hype was. The servers were nice and tentative. The bathroom was weird– you had to ask for a token to use their bathroom and it was in the lower level so you had to go out of the restaurant and into an elevator, down the hall and surprise there’s the bathroom… Anyways not much to say about this place. Wish it was better

The boys loveeeee this place. It’s always raining pancakes, French toast, and bacon on our table. This is a normal part of schedule every Sunday after church. The place is packed especially on brunch. Since we are a large group, the wait is normally 20 minutes. Portions are large(at least for me). If you don’t eat that much consider sharing. Service is fair, not bad but could be better. Street parking or garage parking across the street. Underground parking available but very limited and only for 45 minutes.

Really enjoyed breakfast @ STACKS! The apple chicken omelette is really good! The Menlo Park address is the best location by way of building décor’ and scenery. Friendly staff and great food. Cant beat that

Typical breakfast diner spot that caters to the wealthy neighborhood/surroundings. They do a pretty good job of getting people in and out so the wait times aren’t too bad. Menu is huge so if you have something in mind, they’ll probably have it. The PROS: Bacon was thick, delicious goodness. Omelets were huge, like the food coma type of huge. They make Minnie or Mickey Mouse pancakes for the kids which was cute. Everything else is pretty mediocre. The CONS: The price of a side of bacon is just as much a full meal. If you order a basic meal(2 eggs, bacon and hashbrowns), it costs just the same as if you were to order a burger, fries, etc or a big omelet with the typical sides. They need to re-evaluate their costs on their menu. If you have to use the bathroom, GOODLUCK! I had to take my daughter to the restroom and it was a journey. Luckily a customer stopped us and told me I needed a coin from the front desk, then go out through the side door, go outside, down the hallway, onto the elevator, go down, and go to another hallway where you’ll find the restroom. Put in the coin to go inside… I really didn’t see what the big deal was about this place.

After coming here again, I decided I was sick of bland frittatas and overpriced eggs. I think I’ve finally found something I like here. Surprise! It’s not breakfast food. It’s actually a burger. I love their Patty Melt. It comes on rye bread, is well-seared and very soft, and the fries are oh-so-crispy. The cheese is perfectly melted and it has that lick-your fingers quality you want in a good burger. This doesn’t really change anything I said in my last review. The lines are still long, you’re crammed in like sardines, and the menu is probably two pages too long. But now that I’ve found something I like here, the place deserves an upgrade. If you find their other offerings lacking like I did, give the Patty Melt a shot!

I was craving for waffle and wanted to try something different. I’ve been meaning to try this location for a long time… perfect timing! It’s almost noon when we arrived here and we’re so hungry. I was glad that we didn’t have to wait for that long. When I looked at the menu, they have too many choices to choose from. That’s hard for me! They have waffles, crêpe, pancake to die for(according to reviews) and lots of healthy options as well. I ended up having a crab crêpe. Damn, it’s a crêpe filled with fresh crab, melted cheese, and avocado. Perfect for me! The sauce that comes with it was quite yum and big bonus taste. Husband got their short stack of famous banana macadamia coconut pancake — so I was able to get a bite. It’s very tasty too, I liked it. I wish they mentioned that I have the option to change my bagel to pancake, for I would go for pancake instead of a bagel. Perhaps, next time. I’ll come back here sometime and will try their waffle. It looks good, even the French toast.
