I’ve been practicing yoga for over 20 years. Throughout these many years my life has had many facets. Through it all I’ve been grateful that yoga is always there for me! I’ve come to realize that yoga doesn’t have to be my everything(cardio, strength training, stretching, etc.)! It’s my rock… my foundation… brings me back to center. Tricia’s Soft and Gentle Yoga and Meditation soothed my soul! The space is beautiful! The community is welcoming & having traveled from out of town I was well supplied with a mat, bolster, blanket & blocks. I would highly recommend this class for deep shoulder and hip openers as well as creating space for love and light! Based on another review I have to disagree, the space was comfortably warm & very conducive to my practice. This may have something to do with the fact that the previous Vinyasa Flow class was packed out at 14 people. Thanks fellow yogis for steaming it up & prepping the space for us! Loved it

This place saved my life. Tricia is generous, kind, talented and knowledgeable and each of the instructors have their own unique teaching approach that give you a different experience in each class. I came to my first class stressed, broken, anxious, and lethargic, and in just a few weeks, because of Tricia and The Sanctuary for Yoga, in the words of Herman Hesse’s «Siddhartha,» “…then, from the remote part of [my] soul, from the past of [my] tired life… [I] heard a sound.“ Thank you all.

A few things I’ve learned about yoga & myself after coming here. First, I look at yoga as a workout. I need it to be challenging, I need to break a sweat, with the rare exception — I don’t require props, I don’t want to hear a lot of stuff about the servants of light & I don’t like doing yoga in a cold room. All that said, I have taken three classes at the Sanctuary for Yoga, it is a beautiful space in which to practice. However, I froze my butt off each of the three times until the yoga got me warmed up. This is not hot yoga & it is not a warm room so if you’re going to be here at night in the dead of winter, wear long sleeves. The three classes I took were each taught by a different instructor, the owner’s ‘flow’ was the most challenging out of the three, but still not what I was searching for. There were a lot of sun salutations & down dogs — ehhhh. I need someone to help me twist myself into a human pretzel, show me how to get a deeper stretch and challenge me to balance in new ways. I need someone to look at my posture & offer suggestions if my alignment isn’t correct. I didn’t get that here. It’s a cute space & conveniently located, their schedule is pretty decent & at the end of the day — some yoga is better than no yoga. But at the end of the day, I need something more.
