I had high hopes. This is a beautiful studio and I was looking forward to trying it out. I stopped in Thursday to pick up a schedule & to inquire about who was teaching. The girl at the desk said she didn’t know or wasn’t sure — there was a substitute teaching the 5:30 class. I came back before the start of class, paid my $ 15, filled out the necessary waiver and changed into my yoga gear. I walked into the room & noticed that people’s mats were facing in a few different directions. Odd, but ok, whatever. The teacher came in, introduced herself & asked if anyone was working on any particular poses or if anyone had trouble spots they would like incorporated into the class. Ok, so far so good. One lady said she would like to work on hips, I suggested Titibasana since I’m working on that pose these days. Before I continue this review I want to say this one thing to you the kind reader. My workouts are valuable to me. Sometimes it is the only hour of the day that I get strictly to myself & sometimes I don’t even get that much. If I make it to a yoga studio or a gym, I want a workout & I need to feel that my time is respected. The description for this class said level one; suitable for beginners or advanced looking to go deeper into their practice. Not only did I NOT get that, I honestly feel my time was wasted. At one point the lady leading the class asked a gentleman to come up & take over. He obliged and said drop your left hip, now drop your right, now shake — shake –shake. We were invited to not take ourselves seriously. And that’s all well & good, but I just paid $ 15 for a workout, is that coming anytime soon? There was so much time spent clowning around and chatting that the hour of movement seemed like only 30 minutes. The 30 minutes of movement were very far from a workout & where was my Titibasana??? WHY would you ask people if they are working on something only to NOT incorporate it? Disappointing. I won’t be back.
