This is literally the best sushi around. Great presentation, superb service, and a great deal. My family loves coming here the chef is an absolute artist. Love the music playing in the background and the various posters. Would recommend wish I could rate more than 5 stars.

A hole in the wall. Great rolls. Just the kind of place to go to when you don’t want to dress up.

New go to sushi place in Mckinney! Great little sushi restaurant with awesome prices 2 for $ 10. Huge variety of rolls. Service was pretty slow though there was only one server for all the tables. Crunchy spicy california rolls were delicious.

I love this place, the sushi is really good. Now on another post she said the chef was not there. The chef Is the owner and he is very nice and will answer any questions if you ask. The owner last time I was there said he was looking for another chef to help out with the sushi prep. Me and my brothers go there all the time. The prices won’t break your wallet like some other places and the chef switches some rolls every now and then.

Edit: Manchild called and spoke with owner who agreed to refund money. I won’t be back but I’m glad he saw the error. Absolutely bizarre experience. Just went in with my 2 kids to eat and ordered drinks. After she brought drinks I started to order our dinner and she says the chef isn’t there, so they can’t make any rolls. It’s a sushi place… what else would I come here to eat exactly? They were very apologetic, and I understand things happen. However, the one star is because when I told her we wouldn’t be dining there, she charged us 6.57 for three sodas she JUST delivered to us. Had she told me beforehand that I couldn’t actually dine there, I wouldn’t have ordered them. The least they could have done was comp the stupid drinks! Bad way to handle situations. If you have no chef, you should close.

**note*** my rating is really 4 ½ stars Last night, 12/11, was our first visit and I came here solely based upon all of the positive Unilocal reviews. It did not disappoint! They have an awesome sushi roll special; 2 for $ 10 and you can BYOB. The rolls tasted really fresh. The ahi tuna tower was spectacular! The only reason why I didn’t give 5 stars was because 2 folks at our table ordered the chicken katsu and I think it got missed because we had to ask the server how much longer for their entrees because the rest of us had already finished our sushi rolls. However, after we brought it to their attention, five minutes later the chicken katsu was on the table. This will now be our«go to“sushi place because the prices are great, you can BYOB, and the staff are super friendly!

AWESOMESUSHI. The atmosphere is cool, the food is better. Cannot beat the 2 for $ 10, perfect place to grab sushi for lunch. If you like tempura rolls, the Hiroshima roll. If you prefer regular rolls, the Cowboy.

My wife is from Hawaii, born and raised. When we moved to the mainland, we had an incredibly difficult time with the sushi. Most the fish here isn’t as fresh as it is in Hawaii, simply because it must be shipped in. Admittedly, when I saw this place I drove right past. It’s not in the best location, and from the outside it looks a little scary, although the new sign definitely helps. The inside is pretty clean with the exception of the bathrooms. The fish is really what sets this place apart. It is some of the best, freshest fish around. You will enjoy if you know your fish.

The food was AWESOME! We went for a Friday dinner. Service was good the night we went. We(husband and I) had the crab monster for our app and it did NOT disappoint. Large portion and excellent presentation. Our nigiri was fresh and presented beautifully. We had three rolls(two from the specialty menu, one from the 2/$ 10 menu) and they melted in our mouth. The portion sizes on all were above average and had great presentation and taste. My only complaint — the lighting. It was SO bright. My husband said the lighting reminded him of a donut shop while I said a CiCis pizza. Lighting aside, we will definitely be back!!!

Not what you would expect from looking at the outside. Very hip, upbeat sushi place. The decorations are cool to look at, comic book covers, art and musicians posted all over. The place is very clean, the staff is friendly and the food is great. All you can eat lunch –sushi is worth it. The rolls had lots of flavor and there was a good variety.

I’ve been going her since it was $ 9.99 all you can eat and even after the increase in price I still come here. It’s rare to find a sushi joint on this side of town, and for it to be add good as it is helps add to the overall experience. The chefs and wait staff are very friendly sometimes even funny and make all guest in our party feel comfortable, especially the new to sushi people. They never have a problem answering questions or making suggestions. BYOB is a cool feature of this location as well, highly recommended.

Yummy sushi at a yummy price! The avocado bomb was da bomb! The volcano roll was so flavorful. Don’t let the all you can eat fool you. The presentation and taste were as good as more expensive places!

All you can eat sushi rolls. Um – hello! What a deal – and BYOB! Downtown McKinney needed a great sushi spot. Fresh, made to order, sushi chef behind counter exudes pride and ownership. The best rolls we had were: Firecracker, Cowboy, and Happy. Delish. This place is not to be missed just off the square. Don’t expect great table-side service and don’t show up anywhere near to closing time. Seems to make owner upset. Give yourself plenty of time bc the door shuts promptly at closing time.

If I was a millionaire, I would give them my Million!!! Hands down the best sushi for best price I have ever seen in my life… ever. And I know my stuff. I have eaten at so many sushi places I could count my life on it. This was easily a 200 dollar meal for 20 dollars. anyone who even remotely likes sushi and doesn’t come here is extremely extremely inane. My dog would be smarter than you. And Skip is a stuffed animal. Square sushi is the BEST!

We have returned a number of times since my first review and love this place enough that I drag my husband here every weekend to get my sushi on. A few tips for newcomers: This is not premade stuff but made fresh to order and a small place with two gentlemen up front so it does take time especially if busy. If you are in a hurry go when it is less busy. Otherwise sit back and relax. If you are new to the place and ordering AYCE then it is good to order a few at a time. They do charge for any of the all you can eat rolls you don’t consume. Since we are regulars, my husband and I have it down to a science how many to order to fill our bellies without waddling out of there ;) On the AYCE menu, my favorites are the spicy tuna and spicy salmon rolls. I like my food on the spicy side and those rolls have a good level of spice. My favorite specialty rolls would have to be the panic roll and butterfly roll. I also liked the flavor of the crab monster from the appetizer menu. This place is BYOB, and I have seen people bringing in bottles of beer to enjoy with their sushi. If you are looking for fancy then this is not it… but if you want good sushi, a place where you don’t have to hush your kids, great prices, and genuinely nice people then this is your spot. I found this place through Unilocal and want to be sure people know about them.
