Don’t come here! Terrible service! Should’ve read the other reviews before I came in. Looks like this is a consistent issue. Hostess was cold. Neither greeted me or sat me(her only job). Sat myself, was not given a menu until the waiter came. Asked to move to the bar area because it was really cold in the dining room. This apparently pissed my waiter off as he grabbed my glass of water and walked off without saying a word. Sat for ten minutes without service until another waiter(much nicer) took my order. This is my first and last time coming here. Now I know why there are only three other people here at a time that would be a lunch rush for any other restaurant. Long hair rolled into my silverware napkin, had to ask for everything that goes with sushi, chop sticks, soy sauce etc. Had to go get the waiter, Hector G. myself so I could check out and leave!

Worst Service Ever! I had gave this place a shot since the food is overall really good. Yet they lack customer service sucks! Although it was busy I saw how my waitress was easy to go back and forth on other tables yet mine not even once! I had to flag down different waiters and no help. I finally had to get up and ask for my total. I told my waitress how I was not happy and she did not once apologize or ask if their was anything else she can do «There was other parties she had to attend» okay makes it right for you to be rude? If you want to wait 45 min for a sushi roll and on that a refill by all means go ahead and wait. Definitely Avoid this place and will never come here again!

Happy Hour is about the only thing good about this place… was lied to on the phone then to in person, had horrible service, the waitress gave my friends and I attitude the whole night and the speakers in the main dining area did not work apparently. Will never go here again!

This place has a great happy hour special for drinks 3pm-11pm. The food is good and fairly priced.

The friend that brought us to this restaurant says they have the best Sexy Roll in town. I tried one piece – it was OK. However, they should pare down their extensive panAsian menu and stick to sushi, because the items my husband and I selected were sub-par. Tasteless and dry fried calamari. I can just imagine their«chef» opening up that bag and dumping them onto the plate. The fried rice was one-note – overwhelmed by a heavy sauce. The shrimp they added were plump and not overcooked, which is the one nice thing I can say about our food. Spareribs? Yes indeed! My first piece was just bone – no meat. I picked one more piece off the plate but soon gave up trying to glean some meat. Restaurants should stick to a few items and do them well. Our waiter was nice and attentive. We came around 6PM on a Sunday. They didn’t have much business at that time. The ice cold Corona was good.

Never again! Wrong orders, «mosquito fried wonton chips» and the food just wasn’t that good. So bad even the fortunes sucked! Only plus was that the beer was cold.

Ditto with all the other reviews. Found a mosquito on a fried WonTon, probably fried but…

Horrible service! Forever and a lifetime to get a drink! The drinks aren’t very strong. The server has way too many tables for him to handle. I’ve been here a few times that I have visited my family and every time it’s the same problem. The service SUCKS. They need to get it together. #sorrynotsorry

so this place went bad real fast. the drinks were terrible. the tofu had no semblance of shape or flavor. the dish i asked for was made terribly wrong. we ended up not eating or drinking anything we ordered we tried sending it all back but they left it at the table and charged us the full amount. the staff was indifferent which is worse than being rude. never going back again.

This was the WORST restaruant experience I’ve had in a while. I brought my boyfriend here on our day off excited for some yummy sushi but we got the opposite experience. I would give ZEROSTARS but I can’t. The service was shitty. The waiter never even came around. The food was absolute dirt. They can’t even do a CALIFORNIAROLL right. We were the only people in the restaruant and we waited forever for our food then check. I had to flag down the manager at one point because the waiting was just getting crazy. I will never return to this restaruant and I will be telling as many people possible the same.

Smells like rotten food/chlorine when you walk in. Customer service from hostess is lacking. They don’t greet customers properly and emit a lazy attitude.

I like coast for the drinks mainly. If you spend over 25 $ you get a free champagne or wine bottle. The food is either somewhat edible or terrible.

Chirashi wasn’t at par with all the other chirashis I’ve tasted before. The seafood was good but the rice wasn’t even a sushi rice, it was plain boiled rice :(Not even worth a star.

Oh, Coast… where do I begin? Walk in and choke at the overpowering soy sauce scent. The décor is still nice, but alas, still looks exactly like Osuka did before it. Seated at a glass table with a broken corner, the sharp edge repaired with duct tape. Getting the Mexican vibe already. Happy hour specials which run all night long and every day of the week raise a red flag, but $ 2 tuna rolls and $ 5 martinis still look enticing. After a 25 minute wait(which we happily filled laughing at all the typographical errors in the menu – «cucumber pee,» anyone?), our waitress finally arrived to take our drink order. My dad asked if she had a Blue Moon and though she said no, we later found it listed on the menu. My sister wanted hot tea and asked what flavors they had. She said they had«green» and«normal.» I took a cue and just ordered water. All the waiters, in general, seem like they’re on Valium. All the while Taio Cruz is blaring from the club, I mean, bar area. Our rolls took hours to arrive, and were(expectedly) deep fried and drowning in spicy mayo and eel sauce. Two things that were good: the wasabi«gel» that they squirt around the sushi and the Sakura roll, which had tons of raw fish for the price. The bill came and the waiter had charged us $ 6 for each of the $ 2 tuna rolls. Maybe not such a good deal after all.

Coast is among the worst dining experience of my life. Every aspect of dining here was so sloppy. First of all, the menu has spelling errors(it’s «tartare» not«tartar») and corrections added in pen. There could not be better foreshadowing for the meal that was to come. The cumin lamb dish has to be the worst piece of meat I’ve ever had. It was too thin, super chewy, and arrived to the table cold. Way overcooked. And they weren’t kidding when they named the dish«cumin lamb.» The cumin is too overpowering and seems to be the only seasoning used here. The meat is cut into very small pieces. Hello, I’m an adult, I am capable of using a knife and cutting my own meat. But maybe this is a smart move on Coast’s part because I would really hate to be the person to cut that tough piece of meat. Better them than me, I guess. The way the meat is cut is unappetizing onto itself, but even more so when served on top of a bed of wet and thinly sliced iceberg lettuce. This dish is probably what another Unilocaler was talking about with her«dog food«reference. I had a spicy tuna roll. The tuna was very unfresh and tasted fishy. Fresh sushi is NOT fishy. Gross. The tuna tartare dish was actually really good. But unfortunately, not enough to bring the dinner to a two-star status. The service was pretty bad as well. My appetizer was the last thing to arrive at the table. My boyfriend got his meal ten minutes before mine so we couldn’t eat together. The waiter was not familiar with the menu, had to ask for clarification on items, and was slow. We had to ask another waiter to please flag down our waiter so we could get a check. And I never got a refill on my water. On a positive note, the décor is beautiful. However, it’s Osuka’s décor, the restaurant that preceded Coast, and I guess Coast decided to just recycle the interiors. Good for them since this is the only good thing going for them.

Bistro? More like bisNO!!! The bar area is cool, the dining area has amazing décor but it is NOT fine dining. The menu has a vast selection of sushi, regular asian dishes, wings, and other fun appetizers. The quality of the food is where it is lacking. The duck was flavorful but the pieces barely had any meal! The sushi I ordered for my appetizer came AFTER I finished my entrée! My lamb dish’s presentation was seriously lacking. It was dry and looked like dog food! The restaurant has great potential but they have to train their waitstaff a bit more, get more quality ingredients, and faster service.
