I came here with my mother. It’s a super modern looking place. Disclaimer: I’m by no means a bbq snob, and have only tried a handful of bbq places. This is what I imagine everyone assumes I eat daily, whenever I tell them I’m from Texas. Truth is, this area is unlike the rest of the state and there are just a handful of bbq restaurants around(especially compared to Mexican food places). Still, among those I have tried, this one has stacked up really well. My mom had their moist brisket and absolutely loved it. She wasn’t very pleased with the taste of their Cowboy Stew though. I had their pulled pork sandwich, mashed potatoes with gravy, a bag of jalapeño chips, and a pecan chocolate brownie. It was all incredibly delicious. Their brownie was my absolute favorite. The top part was a thick layer of chocolate(I should probably mention that’s probably why it’s served cold). I only wished it was bigger, but considering it’s loaded with sugar, the smaller portion is probably a good call. They had country music playing in the background the whole time and a football game on the tv. I’m not a country listener whatsoever, but I did appreciate the occasional Taylor Swift song.

The lean brisket sandwich was better this past visit. A little disappointed they don’t have coleslaw but I’ll survive. Tables too close to one another.

Best Bar-B-Q in McAllen. I always get the moist brisket sandwich and it never disappoints me. Good size portion on very soft delicious buns. Place is always clean and the service is excellent and friendly. Highly recommend it. Ps I also appreciate their military discount.

Have lunch or dinner here often. Great service and delicious food. The brisket and ribs are definitely better than Rudy’s. You have to try the brisket nachos. Potato salad is very very good!

I like the food and service here. It is my second time here and my opinion on this place hasn’t changed. This place is worth a visit. The price isn’t bad at all. On a college budget too. I would recommend this place to friends.

I love getting a brisket sandwich. I have them chop the meat and then I pile on their cole slaw, pickles and onions with a little bit of mild sauce. I ordered the french fries one day because they advertise them as fresh. They didn’t taste fresh. They tasted like every other frozen potato that has been dropped into a fryer. Tasteless and slightly mealy.

I used to visit their Franklin, Tennessee location and was pretty surprised to see one go up near my home in McAllen. Very good BBQ. I enjoy the chopped brisket sandwich. As others have pointed out the sides are pretty expensive considering what you get, but they are pretty tasty. And those mashed taters aren’t instant. Very clean on the inside, though I typically use the drive through. It has helped me transition back to Texas from Tennessee.

Very surprised to see this place only has 2 stars. I guess people in Texas don’t know how to write reviews because if they did this place would have 5 stars! I’ve been trying BBQ all over the U.S. for the last 15 years and this place has the best brisket sandwich ever. You might have to ask for it moist instead of dry, I love the sandwiches here with fries. Not tot mention the customer service here is excellent and the place is very clean. I come all the way from LA and I’m orginally from Texas. This is the best place for BBQ that Texas has to offer.

I agree the meat is a little dry. Expensive for small sides dishes.
