Extremely disappointed in this place. My BF and I went for dinner on a Friday evening. The place was empty only one couple was dining. I ordered a 16 oz ribeye medium well. My BF ordered the sea bass. My steak came charred the meat was very tough tasteless and I can bet that was a frozen old piece of meat. I sent it back and I was told they had run out of that steak and they were going to bring me another steak. My BF finished eating and the second steak came sliced and extremely raw and charred on the outside. I left without eating. The chef came out and apologized and we were told that there was a problem in the kitchen. They covered our ticket but I will never go back and don’t recommend this place to anyone

First time at this establishment and it was a very nice experience. My wife and I decided to go for dinner the night before Valentine’s Day and found out a lot of places were already booked. But happy to have found a table here. We had empanadas with lobster that were delicious. Our entrees were really good, she has lamb and she said it was delicious, I had the Chilean sea bass and it was flavorful. My only complaint was that it was way too thin for the price and the veggies were a bit minty but otherwise delicious. Dessert was very good, we had raspberry cheesecake. All in all the atmosphere was great service was great and the food was very good. Definitely will be coming back.

We enjoyed a delicious dinner at Alberico Fine Wine. The duck and osso bucco were excellent. I especially enjoyed the root vegetables with the duck. We shared the Italian Simple Salad and the Bananas Foster Tiramisu. Both were unique and wonderful. The service was all that we could ask. We’ll definitely be returning.

Having been here once before and enjoying what I recall a quiet, charming and good meal a few months ago, I invited a client for lunch and regretted it. We sat and ordered food which took a good 20 minutes to be served. All the while, nothing on the table to hold us over – not a cracker. Not a couple slices of bread… nada. Which would have been fine if the food that arrived more than compensated for that. We ordered the salmon with vegetable noodles and were served what appeared to be a kid’s portion of salmon on a bed of bland shaved veggies. My cut of salmon was what I initially thought was 3 oz of fish but as I cut into it realized it was actually 1 oz of salmon meat with the other 2 oz being the skin. I got 1 bite(ok maybe another .25 of what I managed to scape off the skin) of actual protein intake. We hinted to the waiter by asking him where the other half of the fish went and he shrugged it off. To add to the situation, we looked for salt and pepper on the table and could not locate it on that table or any other table for that matter. We finally flagged the waiter down and asked for the commonly requested spices and were delivered a greasy pinch bowl of salt that had crumbs of something else I could not make out. What was that? I don’t know – I just know it was not hygienic. Instead of pepper, we were served chili pepper flakes… Ok? My client ordered coffee which I took advantage of to order some soup. I was starving and could not sit there much longer without something of substance in my belly. Lentil soup is easy… so I thought. Over over spiced. Could barely consume it. Each plate of salmon came out to about $ 20.00 each. In light of that I felt compelled to share my story to inform potential patrons of what might be in store for them. I also wanted to post it as feedback to the restaurant because to me it appeared as though they were having financial problems and their solution to those problems is to cut back… I don’t know about running a restaurant much but know that this is not a sustainable!

Solid burger, great glasses of wine, wonderful service. I must say though if you’re going to come here, you may as well have something better than the burger. It just so happens I was craving a burger that day, but the dishes that went by my table in the mean time looked much more appetizing than I anticipated. Décor is nice, service is unpretentious. They often have a check-in special that is well worth your visit!

No disappointments with this eatery! Props to the chef! The Osso Buco was precisely prepared and he definitely knows how to pair his dishes with all the ingredients and flavors… Refreshing to have this in the RGV

Great wine list, excellent food, value and service. Our favorite place to eat in McAllen. Be sure to try the cheese plate. Always something new on the menu.

This place surprised me. Was invited to dine by some friends. Went expecting a mediocre experience. The result was one of the best steaks I’ve ever had. Very quiet atmosphere. Great wine selection although they ought to accommodate more single glass consumption.

Service was good and the wine was as well. However the ribeyes were terrible. The filet was OK. Sides didn’t have much flavor either. Wouldn’t go back

Great food. The Iracheta salad had the perfect proportions of salad, goat cheese, fruit and nuts. The table had the Kobe Burger which was cooked perfectly to order. The ahi tuna which was well blackened and seared, and the gentleman sandwich with Serrano ham and manchego cheese was spiced up with chipotle cream and peppers. The sweet potato chips did not have any grease at all. Great wine selection. We had a nice Bordeaux and a Merlot. Arthur our waiter was spot on. The general manager Alfredo made great wine suggestions and was very helpful. I’m surprised I found a place like this in McAllen. Will definitely come back next time I’m in town.

Thanks Unilocalers! I sent my mom here after I read reviews on Unilocal and she said she absolutely loved it! She went for lunch during a trip to McAllen. I looked at other reviews for other restaurants and nothing seemed to compare to pictures/menu/reviews!

Had a great time day drinking here for lunch. Had the tomahawk from dinner menu and banana bread beer before the steak then a glass of wine then a glass of whisky to wrap it up. Crème brule was delicious and the sea bass too. Great service from the staff had everything in a jiffy. Which they could expand their steak selection just a little more to get 5 stars from me.

This place apparently has no wine list. There is one online, but it is not current. They sell wines at retail prices, but with no list it’s difficult to know what they offer. I hosted a dinner party in the wine room. When I asked what wines they recommended I was offered $ 50 wines. I then asked for something less expensive since I recalled seeing multiple wines under $ 20 online. It was like pulling teeth to see a cheaper wine! I was then finally shown 2 bottles for $ 14. I guess the wine guy must have been annoyed since no one bothered to present the wines and we had to ask for someone to open them. When we picked a more expensive wine later in the evening it was then presented appropriately. Overall, we drank significantly less as a result of having no wine list or knowledge about the prices. I was in communication with the chef beforehand and he graciously prepared a slimmed down version of the menu without prices to present to my guests. Only problem is the waiter apparently didn’t know and brought us menus. The chef was was very nice and even came to say hello. The food was amazing, despite the fact the waiter told someone that they didn’t have anymore tortilla soup because it was frozen. I really enjoyed the Dad’s salad. The ribeye and the pork chop were also very good. Unfortunately the food didn’t shine like it could’ve because it took way too long to receive. The waiter seemed to take forever to finally take our order. At the end of our meal it seemed like they wanted to kick us out. They were removing our empty water glasses instead of refilling them. We left at midnight, but the website indicted the restaurant closed at 2. There were still people in the restaurant, so I’m not sure why there was such a rush to move us out. Not the way you want to treat guests after spending almost $ 700! All and all, the food was great, but the service left very much to be desired!

We went for lunch. It was a little late so we missed the lunch rush. They have a wine room that they claim is retail price. They do have wines as low as $ 8 but still their prices are two to three times what they cost at an actual retail store. So basically normal restaurant prices on wine. It’s fine, they just claim they are offering retail not restaurant prices. To the food, the jamon Serrano shrimp appetizer was really unimpressive. Only 4 shrimp for $ 12 and not much flavor. On the other hand the Kobe burger was off the hook. At $ 13 it is a very fair price as well. The Kobe burger earns this place a 4 star rating by itself. The penne pasta was good as well. We had the crêpe brûlée desert and it was very tasty but very small. The service was friendly but very slow. It took 20 minutes to get dessert. All in all we enjoyed the food. The prices were not bad. We will come back but will skip the apps and desert.

I am completely shocked this place wasn’t packed & overflowing with customers just for the wine & beer prices alone! Offering them at retail! & they have a fantastic selection. The appetizers were yummy. The shrimp was just OK but the other… was delicious! I had the bass which was perfect! My hubby tried the osso bosso & it was so tender! Great dinner date fantastic experience! Our waiter was super friendly & attentive. He answered all our questions and was familiar w/the menu. The manager was also extremely courteous & checked in on us. What a hidden gem!

Came here on two occasions, osso bucco was good but a bit salty. Everyone in my party received an overcooked steak, the steak tartar was a joke, and inedible, it was full of chunky pieces of fat that we had to eventually spit out. Oysters were fresh and good.

Did I just find the best hidden gem in McAllen? No. My dad did. After trying to go to a couple of places for lunch which were disappointingly closed on a Sunday, he suggested this spot. Magically it was open and they’ve got a delightful lunch menu. Rex, our server, was eager and super solicitous, telling us about the awesomeness that is a «retail» establishment with a food menu. That is to say Stella Artois is always $ 2.50. There were other seriously outstanding prices on other draft brews as well which Rex let us sample. We both ordered a pasta dish from a menu that is actually international. That doesn’t mean they have nachos AND hamburgers. Well, they’ve got a hamburger but it’s made of kobe and has gruyère on it. Also they’ve got indian flavors, mediterranean flavors, spanish flavors and of course, italian. Which we both ordered. His penne putanesca was a perfect portion size and really robustly flavored. My angel hair with cream sauce came with four gigantic shrimp wrapped in jamon serrano. All the entrees run $ 7 — $ 14 as far as I could tell — totally reasonable for a higher end lunch. That’s not even the best part. The best part is that they have a back room that you can just use. Not rent — use. It’s their wine area and you’re surrounded by beautiful wines, high top tables and a huge TV that you can either actually watch something on or stream something to. Oh yes folks, this place has wifi. The perfect blend of a wine bar, retail shop and restaurant. We walked away with leftovers and a bottle of wine and the fantastic feeling that we’d discovered our new fave go to lunch spot. We’ve already made plans to take a run at their spendier dinner menu as well.
