Great atmosphere and very Chill! Awesome selection of crafted beers. Roosevelt’s is considered that«Any Occasion Bar». If it’s for lunch, catching up with friends, after work drinks, chill nightlife or Sunday brunch. They do it all very well. Their staff are very knowledgeable over beers. The chefs always with an open mind to fit your needs. Overall good customer service. They have an indoor or outdoor section. You must try The Machine Gun Kelly’s Shrimp Pizza. It’s always the best combination with a good crafted beer. Even more interesting, they also have special events. From Art Shows, KCCO meets, seasonal beer specials, St. Patrick’s day, poetry events… and the list grows.

This is an absolutely fantastic beer bar. I don’t know how many beers I have on tap but it’s a lot .They also have lots of unusual special beers in the bottle and Can. The atmosphere and the bar is rustic and creative. However being the bar environment could be a lot cleaner especially given the price and the fact that they serve food. I really thought restaurant is dirty. If you look at it like it’s a bar then not so bad however if the owner reads these reviews please think about doing some deep cleaning and encourage your staff to keep the place clean. While I’m on service I noticed that the bartender was really ordering and serving food as well as taking beer orders in serving drinks it was between four and 5 o’clock so I may be it was a change of shift but really she was too busy to give me good service. I ordered the Sinatra pasta it was good not fantastic portion was large I added shrimp for four dollars I got five Shrimp not bad ;tasted good but not fantastic I had a stout beer called the dark Angel it was delicious five dollars for pint my fettuccine was $ 13 including the shrimp. So I think the price was right environment trendy and fun, But dirty. The service was lackluster.

Lots of great craft beer choices, although all the IPA drafts were high ABV. Service for the beers was helpful, but slow. We sat in the covered patio area, and the food service out there was really slow. After waiting about 20 minutes after our beers were served, we finally went inside to ask someone to take our food orders. We also had to go back inside to ask for our bill. During that time none of the wait staff came out to the patio to check on the customers there. However, the food was great. We had the Cuban sandwich and the healthy salmon dinner. So two stars at best for the service and 4 stars for the quality of the beer selection and the food.

McAllen’s original craft brew pub. With a wide variety of beer to choose from and the laid back, casual atmosphere, you might overlook their great dining options. Their paninis are made with the highest quality deli meats. Not only are the owners beer enthusiasts, but they love food… and it shows.

I brought my wife and daughter for dinner. Nice place. I had the Sinatra fettuccine and added a chicken breast. Delicious and just the right size. Wife ordered the turkey sandwich and said that it was delicious. Everything was wonderful. Good prices and great selection of beers.

Went here for the first time and the atmosphere was just perfect for my girlfriend and I. The food selection was typical of any bar and grill but had their own twist to it. Had the party melt while my girlfriend had the drunken salmon, both turned out great. You actually get your money’s worth with the Patty melt. The beer menu was superb. Great Texas craft beers and nationals one on and off tap. Only problem was, that some of the servers weren’t too familiar with the craft beers, and be being a craft beer nut, I like to get a good input from another beer enthusiast. Overall they were knowledgeable enough to give good suggestions. Great place to hang out with friends with good beer and or wine. Parking could be adjusted better but nevertheless fantastic experience.

Excellent service from the bartender and decent food. I enjoyed a late dinner here and some great local beers. Watch out for a quickly-outdated beer menu, which can change on a dime!

I have bookmarked this place, read the reviews and been wanting to check it out for a few months now, finally did. Not what I expected, but not in a bad way. I thought it was gonna be a somewhat upscale bar/restaurant, which is not what I usually prefer, probably the same reason for the months long«decision» to finally come here. I met up with couple coworkers who were there just to have a few drinks and play darts. They have 2 distinguished areas, a pretty decent size outdoor seating with a cute front gate and full roof cover. The indoor part looks more like a dive bar with about 10 tables. They have a good selection of beers on tap. That’s hard to find in the valley. $ 5/drink is not bad at all. The only food I had there was the calamari. Not like any calamari I have had, definitely good and different. Almost every item on the menu is at a very reasonable price. The only things that would earn this place a 5 stars are new dart boards and more open area for air to flow outside. It gets extremely hot and stuffy if u stay out there too long.

Usually hang out here at least once a week so I’ve grown very accustomed to it. The craft beer selection is always on point, very rarely do they run dry of my usual suspects of beer. It’s pretty chill every week day and only gets crowded on Fridays and Saturdays, but it’s still possible to get a beer(wait time can vary). Unfortunately they don’t serve liquor here, unless you consider wine a liquor, but if they did I probably wouldn’t go anywhere else. I’ve only eaten here twice, both times were good, the main course portions are plenty and justify the prices. Good place to stop in for lunch.

I finally tried their drinks. I’m not a fan of beer, like at all, and usually stick to mixed drinks. I told the bartender my preference: «something light and sweet, preferably fruity,» and he gave me a sample of their Hummingbird. It was effing delicious! I’d go back just for that. I think it’s hard cider… My friend and I also split a BBQ pizza, and weren’t impressed. I think I’ll probably order a different food item next time, but I’ll most definitely be returning. The only thing that really sucks, is that they have a tiny parking lot. But you can park on the street or on any of the parking lots across from it, so it’s manageable.

Some delicious items on the menu, but the service can be a bit sluggish at times. However, the beer selection on tap makes up for it. The patio area is great place to hang out and play shuffle board/darts.

Roosevelts! I’m so torn! On the one hand, you’re a fun bar in McAllen with craft beer, games, a patio and food. That alone should garner 5 stars given the dearth of places to hang out with buddies down there. Buuuuuuut… on the other hand, I tend to encounter really off putting staff there. I don’t need a lot of attention — i typically know the beer on tap and don’t require explanation so there’s really no reason for what I sense is a mix of impatience and inner eye rolling. Recently, I met some friends here and ordered food for the first time. It arrived promptly and we tore into the spinach artichoke dip, digging the flavor and the sturdy chips. Then our pizza arrived and despite the abundance of toppings, it was just kind of cardboard-y. That’s not a technical term — but overall the pizza was just lackluster. Also, if you’re going to display local artists whose work I like, please know who they are and how I can get a hold of them. There were two pieces that I would have probably purchased had they had a name and a number or email next to them. Even the staff didn’t know. I still don’t know the information for the piece I really wanted, even after post-visit follow up. Last and certainly least and the thing that’s going to make me sound like a picky jerk, is when you re-do your menus, please please get the names of the stars you’re naming your food after right. The one I remember now is «Carey» Grant. There is no E in his name. Still, you’ve that crafty crafty beer, a spot for us to enjoy the 100 degree summer weather, dips n chips n sandwiches and I wont feel weird busting out cards against humanity there. I’d put it in the top bars I’m most likely to find myself in over my return home during the holidays.

Roosevelt’s at 7 is most definitely the type of bar establishment that you would normally be hard-pressed to find in the Valley. With that being said, yes they have their faults(cocky wait staff, higher than usual prices for RGV standards, service is hit or miss, an obnoxious amount of wanna-be hipsters) but for the variety of beer and quality alcoholic beverages they offer, Roosevelt’s is pretty much your best option. Wait staff — they can be pretty snarky. Just be snarky right back with them and they will get the hint. If it gets completely out of hand, let the manager know. I’ve only ever had negative experiences with the bartenders themselves, not the waitresses. Come with a group of friends, there’s always power in numbers. Service can be a bit on the non-existent side, but I have come to find out that if you leave a reasonable tip, they will remember you, thus improving the levels of service you receive. So many people in the RGV do not tip well, if at all. Yes for RGV standards, there are higher than usual prices here BUT — you don’t have to get plastered. Since when does enjoying a good craft beer have to turn into a drunken stupor fest? Have yourself a beverage or two and then continue the party elsewhere. Your girlfriend/date will definitely be talking about«that Raspberry beer» that you bought her for weeks to come. Pre-drinks are also always effective. If all else fails, maybe you should consider buying a flask… that, or checking into a rehab. I have yet to try their Sunday brunch, but from what friends tell me, it’s really nothing to write home about. Their hummus, however, was very tasty the one time I tried it. And who can forget, BOREDGAMES!!! Make the Jenga blocks your own and write stupid comments on them for future customers to see.
