I’ve been here a few times and I thoroughly enjoy my visits here. Service can sometimes be a bit slow, but for the most part they are pretty attentive. I think it just depends on who you get. If Ricco is working, he’s the server to have! He’s extremely attentive and knowledgeable of the food and drinks. The recommendations he’s made to me have never failed! Some of my favorite dishes are(if you go early) the pork hash. Omg, the pork is so tender and juicy and the sauce they put on it is divine! The Chorizo infused burger with the Patatas Bravas is another excellent choice. The Bibb salad with tuna is yummy. I’m not one for salads, but damn, this one’s incredible! Drinks wise, I think they are delicious. I’ve had the watermelon lollipop, blackberry pepperita, those are the fruity drinks I’d recommend. The pepperitas have a kick to it, but it’s not anything you can’t handle! The wines are pretty good here too. I’d recommend the house Malbec and the cheese plate any day! Overall I’m always satisfied coming here! Great place to enjoy good food with live music and yummy drinks!

This place is trying too hard to be upscale. I came here once for dinner and wasn’t impressed. The food was literally served on a piece of tile. Food wasn’t that great for the price and portions are tiny. I left here hungrier than I walked in. This place is good for drinks and the live music, but that’s it. I wouldn’t eat here again.

This is my first time in McAllen — therefore first time at this restaurant. The customer service was great! Everyone made sure my experience was perfect! I ordered the pork belly hash, which was pretty good. This place is a cute little quaint restaurant. Lovely ambience. Live music at night out on the patio.

The restaurant was busy(4⁄16) there were three large parties, however our server was just assigned to the smaller parties. He was completely overwhelmed and after we were seated waited about fifteen minutes for him to come greet us I went to the bar to get drinks myself, which was actually quick. Everything was extremely slow and when the food finally came out you could tell it had been sitting under the heat lamp in the kitchen for an extended period of time as my steak that was initially cooked medium rare, was crusted over as were the potatoes and vegetables. Drinks were watered down and the server continued to apologize and complain about how busy they were but no one came to help him. Drinks sat in the window for about 10 minutes until we reminded him multiple times and he would bring them over. The only quick service was the server bringing the bill, which had go be corrected. The band was great and it’s a nice atmosphere but I think I would only go back for a beer or glass of wine.

I’m going to start with the service; not much to offer here, the waiters look inexperienced, they don’t take notes and forget easely. The band have rhythm but in a «Hueva» kind of way, no feeling whatsoever. The drinks have no taste so I decided to go with a brewsky. We just had some appetizers, the bone marrow, which it just made me feel like a weenie dog in heat, I dont know if thats good or bad. And the Duck fried«potatos», they were completely burned, almost to ashes, but they replace them. Overall 1 star, y les fue bien…

We enjoyed the comfortable surroundings and great service. Then things went downhill with the quality of food especially the hangar steak and green beans which was supposed to be asparagus. Both were very chewy, not tender.

The food at Infusions is pretty excellent, and I would give them 4 stars. However, they really need to get their sh*t together as a restaurant. Every time we have gone, there are hardly any people there, yet it takes a very long time to get seated and served, and a couple times there are nearby tables that remained uncleaned basically through our entire meal. A couple times they turned on very loud music, which thankfully, the only other group of diners asked them to turn down a bit. The tile plates are an affectation that I think they should probably drop as well. I have a feeling that this place is basically just a guy that is a really good cook, but who does not know how to run a restaurant. If they could get their professionalism together, we would definitely come back, but as of now, we are on a bit of a break going here…

I’ve had dinner here a few times and I definitely prefer going for just drinks and appetizers. The mussels and cheese plate are fantastic. Their infused liquors make for great cocktails to enjoy on their outdoor patio. Dinner options are good… however service is slow, food is usually cold and similar entrees are inconsistent.

I will start with what I liked about this place… the location. Downtown. The End. Since the bathrooms are located at the entrance, you walk in to the smell of the bathroom. Lovely. The food was very average. Appetizers were some peasant style potatoes. Needed to wash them down with water. Extremely dry and over-baked. The bread toast that accompanied the artichoke hearts was extremely hard and I thought I might chip a tooth. The pork belly I’m not sure was either not crispy enough or too crispy. Pork belly shouldn’t be ambiguous. It either is crispy or it’s not. On to dinner. I ordered the pineapple infused rib eye medium rare. Temperature was spot on. Steak was cold. Bland mashed potatoes underneath. The string beans were pretty good and crispy fresh. Never tasted the pineapple infusion. Finally dessert… a brownie with a couple of teaspoons of some ice cream that was essentially flavorless. The brownie I think was flourless. It was over-baked again. The chocolate even had a burnt flavor. The patio outdoors is really nice to hang out and have a drink. I had a cucumber martini. It was good but not better than PF Chang. I didn’t finish my meal. Not even half. Those of you who know me know that’s odd! Saving the best for last… serving entrees on 12×12 ceramic floor tiles is a really bad idea. The underside is porous. I’m not sure how those get sanitized at all. The entire time I’m eating I’m thinking Fabuloso.

Stipped by for Saturday brunch. The selection is good and the prices are quite reasonable. Aside from the restaurant they have a detached building that serves as the bar. This is where my wife and I ate. The bar area is dark and cozy which happens to be my preference. We started with chorizo infused vodka Bloody Marys. Yes, it sounds weird, but they do have such a thing. Delicious. I had the pork belly hash and it was delicious. Pork bellies tends to be a hit or miss in most places. Here it was done just right. Very tender with just the right amount of fat. Highly recommended. The staff is very attentive and friendly. I’m deducting a star just because the kitchen seems to be slow. For the money, this place is a good bet.

I’ve been here a few times for dinner and for brunch as well. Always a great atmosphere to be in. The food is delicious and the mimosas are just perfect. David is the best server, always so sweet and attentive.

Very disappointed first time visit… when going to a Sunday brunch place there are certain expectations in place. We were the only people in the restaurant and we told the waiter it was our first visit. We ordered a Bellini which was super small. He didn’t bother to mention to us that there were other sizes. I ordered a prosciutto Benedict. The«prosciutto» was as thick as a ham steak. Anyone who knows anything about food knows that prosciutto is extremely thin. I couldn’t even eat the meat because it was so tough. There were no sides such as fruit on any of our plates. Poor presentation. The guys enjoyed the Bloody Mary drinks. I told two different people about the prosciutto. We also asked the waiter why he didn’t recommend the different sizes of drinks. Unacceptable. Disappointed.

First timers and very disappointed :( Was really looking forward to a Sunday brunch with friends. We’re the only ones here, so not like they’re crowded and backed up in the kitchen Our waiter has not been helpful to us with menu options, like what a Fishbowl is. Called last night for reservations and they said we had two menu options, Brunch or Lunch, that is apparently not the case. However, when your Bloody Mary does arrive it is great!

Dinner took 3hrs, no seriously. It was about an hour until they brought out anything, then when they did it was in parts. Ribs came out, then 20 mins later the chicken, then another 20 mins and another chicken, then 20 mins for the shrimp dinner. No one was eating at the same time, and these were not complex dishes to make. The food was average, but the killer was how long it took to get food out. Portions were okay size. If you’re in the mood for an average meal and a long wait, this is your spot.

Service was excellent, food was even better. We ordered the bread plate with goat cheese & pork chili dipping sauces. The goat cheese was unreal & the pork chili was really good as well. We also ordered the cheese platter and it was good. The prosciutto was a bit chewy but other than that it was well worth the $ 19. We also ordered the duck breast, but unfortunately it wasn’t all that great. It was overcooked and a little bland. Normally I would give a 4 star due to the minor issues with the food but the service was excellent and our drinks were mixed perfectly so a 5 star it is. This is a good place for a date but they also have plenty of seating on the patio for groups. The bar has a fun and relaxed atmosphere. I will definitely be going back here!

Unless you’re ready to sit and wait and wait to get served, do not visit this place. Our waiter was very slow and forgetful. The food arrived in ceramic floor tiles(go give) that made it difficult to slice and laid so flat the meat juices were rolling down getting my skirt wet. He served tea with no condiments that by the time he brought them the ice had melted. The food, although pricey for the quantity, was tasty. Needless to say our party will not be returning.

Infusions is my new favorite restaurant in McAllen, Texas! The youthful but spectacular chef Billy Villarreal is creative, friendly, and he thinks way outside the box. We sat in a beautiful courtyard. My husband enjoyed a pineapple infused ribeye. I had mussels and chorizo in a sauce of tequila, garlic, lemon, butter, and lime. The best mussels that I have ever eaten(and I have eaten LOTS of mussels). We also enjoyed a spectacular cheese tray with artisan cheeses from a small farm near Waco, Texas. Check out the RGV Magazine from November 2014 for an article(King of the Foodies) featuring Billy Villarreal and Infusions. When in NcAllen, check out this restaurant. You will not be disappointed.

Went for the first time to be in their Unilocal video advertisement. We were the first ones there but only appeared in the video as dark shadows on the patio for a second. But I am not bitter, haha. Went a few more times with the same friends and my husband. We got several small plates to share, which is my favorite way to eat. Standouts were the chorizo and mussels, and beef carpaccio. They have a cocktail whose name escapes me(New York Sour?) but it has egg white and red wine in it and it is so smooth and delicious. It is a lovely place that we enjoy going to.
