The sushi is still good, not great but good. However something is going wrong with other items. The chicken is really tough and the steak(filet) was literally not fit to eat. I sure hope things change and the quality of meat gets better or we won’t be going back.

Overall food was decent. The fried rice was oily, greasy, and buttery so for those who love it that way, then it will be great for you. I just don’t like seeing oil drip down the plate. Gyoza dumplings was ok — seemed like they either refried them or just left them on the frying pan a little bit too long. Edamame was fine. Didn’t try the sashimi as you never know when the fish was delivered and I have high expectations for sashimi. Service wasn’t that great and sadly, we had to ask for our beer again. which came out warm =\

It was just ok and we were less than impressed with the service. Ordered two rolls and again, just OK. Wish I could say better. They look nice yes but lacked in taste. Friend ordered a main dish and didn’t like it either.

I’m picky with my sushi… This place is pretty good as far as sushi! The service could definitely improve.

I love coming here for the geisha roll and fried rice. They have the best sushi in Little Rock. Every time I’m back in town I have to come here for the best food and service around. Do yourself a favor and try this place out, it’s awesome.

Our son loves this place! We eat take out every week from here. The sushi rolls are super here. The hibachi grills are always entertaining. Brian or Jess will always gonna take care of you.

The sushi was pretty good, but service could improve. I had a California roll and the Godzilla roll. I called the order in for pick up and they said it would be ready in 15 minutes. I showed up in 15 minutes, and they asked what I ordered. They then typed my order into the computer, so the chef could make it. It took another 20 minutes for them to make it. The servers were nice and apologized for the delay, but I also expected my food to be ready when I got there. Overall, the food was good, but they definitely need to improve their carry-out.

My favorite sushi place, and I’ve been to most in central AR. Great service. We get a free salad even before we order, every time. My favorite sushi roll is the Kaitlin Roll(us southerners love fried stuff!) and the Caribbean roll is my second, but far behind the Kaitlin. I haven’t had a bad roll, though. They are all delicious.

Since our first visit a couple years ago this establishment has gone down hill a bit. The service has become mediocre, along with the food. I hope to see it improve soon.

This is my favorite restaurant. Wonderful Sushi and the hibachi is amazing. The price isn’t bad for the amount of food you get.

As good as any hibachi in Little Rock. Décor could use a little help, but the food is solid.

This little off the wall place has some of the best sushi in the area. The Maumelle Roll is fantastic. If you are doing pick up, they will tell you 20 minutes… Show up in 30! ;-) Worth it! Must try!

Great restaurant. Food was really good. The only problem it wasn’t hot. It was during lunch time and was really busy. But the food was good even cool.

We live in Maumelle and frequent this place often. But we never go when we are in a hurry or on a budget. The sushi is delish! Maumelle Roll is our all time favorite. Everything else is great as well, probably my favorite fried rice anywhere. The hibachi is always fun and entertaining. Their only downfall is they always seems to be under staffed, so the service is always slow. And I mean always. But you just have to know this and prepare accordingly. It’s like dining in Paris where nothing is fast. Order 2 drinks if you don’t want to wait and sit back and relax, it’s worth the wait!

I have not had the sushi. The hibachi is good. I enjoyed the show. But I’m not sure it’s worth the price. The last time we ate at Sashimi in Maumelle, AR we ordered off the menu. It was NOT good. The service is average. The steak was very tough and some things were cold. We may go again, but will be choosier about what we eat.

This restaurant was recommended to us by former Californians who really know their sushi, so we put it on our list and made time one Friday evening to stop in. I was really excited. We got there about 5:45 p.m. on a Friday night, but it was already pretty full, and our seating choices were a table by the cold wind coming in the door or the sushi bar. We chose the sushi bar. I ordered a cosmopolitan to sip while we perused the menu. It took awhile to get and it was not very strong — more cranberry than vodka! The menu looked lovely and my husband, NOT a sushi eater, found something that looked good to him on the menu. I had a specialty roll. Honestly, the sushi was good, but not better than Fuji here in Conway or Sushi Café in Little Rock. However, the service was not great. My husband is pretty sensitive to waiting to give an order, receive food or drinks or get attention for any problem, and the whole night I felt like he was a little on edge because things took a long time, and I had to work pretty hard to watch for our waiter and get his attention when we needed something. This reduced my enjoyment quite a bit. Our friends who recommended Sashimi said the sashimi combination is amazing and what they love there. I’m not a big sashimi fan(I like rolls and ngiri), so maybe others would like it better if they want sashimi. We won’t be back; there are better options with better service in the area.

While I love the sushi over at Papa Sushi, and it holds the title as my favorite sushi restaurant in Arkansas, I still love trying new things at other places. Using the cool slot machine feature on Urban Spoon’s iPhone app, I came across Sashimi Japanese Steakhouse in Maumelle. It had really good reviews, so I decided that we’d eat there for our weekly date night. Maumelle isn’t too far from us, and we got there for dinner at about 7:30 on a Saturday night. The restaurant was full, but we didn’t have to wait for a table, which always makes me happy. Our server told us to seat ourselves and then came back to take drink orders. We stuck with water that evening, and he kept our glasses full the whole night. The restaurant has a huge hibachi area in the back half, but we were on a sushi date. And dumplings for an appetizer. The dumplings were good, but they weren’t anything spectacular. They tasted like what we order at every sushi place we go to. But they were very good, and the portion size was generous. Four our main dish, we ordered four rolls to share: The Rainbow Roll: California roll with tuna, red snapper, salmon & avocado on top.($ 8.50) The Snow Blossom Roll: Salmon & avocado covered with white tuna and two oriental sauces.($ 9.95) The Oh My Gosh Roll: Spicy salmon avocado, crab stick deep fried with three different sauces.(10.95) The Harry Potter Roll: Soft shell crab, spicy tuna, asparagus, cucumber, craw fish salad and topped with seared tuna.(12.95) I think I would have ordered the«Harry Potter» roll if it had been made of fried chicken and mayo(both of which I hate) just because of the name, but it was my favorite. I wish the seared tuna on top had been salted & peppered a little more before being put on the roll, but it was absolutely delicious. The flavors all went together really well, and it was fantastic. It had good heat, excellent crunch and the sauce was not overpowering. My least favorite was the Snow Blossom, which was one of Graham’s favorites. I think for me it was a texture thing, because there was no texture to it. It was fish and avocado. One piece I had was nothing but a big chunk of avocado on the inside, another piece I had was nothing but fish. I didn’t realize it until I was thinking about why I didn’t like that roll, but I love the sushi rolls that have more of a bite to them. My favorites always have cucumber or asparagus. This one just didn’t do it for me. Not to mention the sauces were a little too sweet. They overpowered the taste of the fish and the avocado, and you ended up with a sweet, mushy tasting blob. The Oh My Gosh roll was Graham’s other favorite, and my second favorite. It was absolutely delicious. It wasn’t as spicy as I typically prefer, but he heat was there and the flavor was incredible. The Rainbow Roll was good, but it wasn’t special. It tasted pretty much like every rainbow roll I’ve ever had. I probably wouldn’t order it again, because they have 51 different rolls to choose from, but it you like the basics, it’s definitely a good one to get. Putting the flavor of each individual roll here aside, the flavor of the fish was very, very good. I’m not sure exactly how fresh it was(seafood here makes me iffy sometimes, since it’s a landlocked state), but it was delicious. There was no fishy smell or excess liquid. The fish was dry and firm, and all you could smell were the sauces on each roll.
