We walked into a clean and bright area. little wait the wait staff was on there a game for sure. both g f and I had the special was amazing the time it took was also amazing. the dirty tables are never really dirty that’s for sure. Great place for breakfast

Awesome breakfast. I had the corned beef and hash. Kids had the pancakes. Wife had tomoto, basil and mozzarella scramble. Good coffee. OJ was fresh squeezed. Nice quick staff.

Excellent food and service! We arrived on a busy Saturday morning, but we were seated almost immediately. Our coffees were always full and the food arrived very quickly. The Eggs Benedict was great, but the home fries were the real «star» of the meal. We will be back!

Walked in and smelt… urine, lots and lots of urine. Pee Pee.
Yes Pee, I couldn’t believe how gross I felt sitting, much less eating here.

This is one of the best breakfasts I’ve had in years. I had a ham and cheese omelet and half order of biscuits and sausage gravy. While the skirts were short it was not nearly as bad as some other review indicated. I was up on business and have already recommended this place to friends. If I return to Maumee, the first place I go will be Star Diner.

The food is progressively getting worse. Today, we went for breakfast, and although I never return food, my breakfast was so horrible. When we asked for something else, the waitress nodded her head and said it was okay. Then we waited and waited, and no food. We had to go to an appointment, and we couldn’t wait. When we brought it up to our waitress (who was also the manager), she argued about what we said, then proceeded to laugh about the «confusion» with other customers. Now I’ve been a waitress and a manager at a restaurant, so I am generally understanding, but this was ridiculous. It’s not worth the money. My husband even refuses to return.

Not a fan. The 2 stars is for the excellent service provided. I love breakfast. I’m not particular. Bacon eggs toast hashbrowns. French toast every now and again. The bacon was very tough. I literally went home and had to floss to get gristle bits out of my teeth from the bacon. The next day (today). I still feel like I have some between my teeth lol. The home fries were overcooked and hard. Paid an extra buck for cheese n got maybe a slice on my homefries. Eggs were unseasoned. They offered to get new bacon. I was disgusted n ready to go by then. How do u mess up bacon n eggs?
Now if u want large portions, they got that in spades. I would rather have half the portion and chewable bacon. I ate a piece n half of bacon n half a slice of toast. I never leave potatoes. Left the rest there. Won’t see me again. I ll be over at Glendale café or Marie scramblers

Food excellent. Service near perfect. Why only 3 stars? The uniforms of the waitresses… yes all women of a certain body type… set women’s rights back about 20 years. If women choose to wear skirts that reveal butt cheek and panties I have no issue. When it is required by mgmt or company policy… we have a problem.

Best breakfast I’ve had in a while! definitely worth driving 25 minutes for. The banana bread french toast is delicious, and the bacon was actually real bacon. Great value

Wow, the service here is outstanding. All of the servers, the hostess… everyone, was hustling to take care of customers. I haven’t seen service this excellent for a long time… great job. The food, of course, was excellent as well. Don’t miss this place.

Tried this place on a rainy Saturday morning in June. Saw a favourable review here on Unilocal so trusted my fellow reviewers and wasn’t disappointed. 15 minute wait at the door. The place was packed but the experienced staff kept the people moving. Menu was extensive. Everything you could want for breakfast. Ordered the Star Special. 3 eggs, thick cut bacon, hash browns, thick cut toast and preserves. All for $ 6.95! OJ was cold and coffee was hot. Perfect spot for a hearty brunch!

Stopped by for lunch on a road trip. Granola pancakes were awesome! Coffee was fresh and delicious. Bacon was thick cut and crispy. Wait staff was friendly.
I knocked off one star (and I may lose my man card for this) because the waitresses were dressed like hooters employees. Gimmicky stuff like this has never impressed me. The food and service were plenty good enough to not need the waitresses running around in low cut tee shirts, push up bras and mini skirts.

Went to star diner on Sunday morning for brunch. It was busy as we thought it would be, but luckily there was no wait for a table. The service was great: friendly and quick! For what you order, you get a ton of food, and after a long night out that’s exactly what we need. The food was good, nothing amazing but overall decent. Would definitely recommend.

Simple inexpensive breakfasts with quality ingredients and a very attentive wait staff that works as a team to ensure every guest has a great experience. Have been there many times and have always enjoyed the meals.

Stopped here for breakfast on a busy Sunday morning and ran right into a waiting list. To our surprise people were quickly moved in and out and EVERYONE was hopping. The 2 hostesses, the waitresses and clean up staff seemed to be going at super sonic speed! After a short wait we were ushered to our table where the hostess immediately gave us coffee and water. Within a few minutes our friendly server appeared and took our order. While we waited for our food, 2 different people filled our coffee. I had the veggie skillet which was delicious and my husband had pancakes and eggs which he said was very good, pancakes were great. Fantastic little gem; highly recommend!!! Final note: this is in a strip mall so when navigation says you have arrived; look at the strip mall stores.

You are in Northwestern Ohio near an Interstate exit at the beginning of flyover country. Hungry. Want breakfast. The local pancake place does not have a single drop of real maple syrup on premises. The local egg place looks at you cross-​eyed if you want a fried egg on a roll, ready to go in five minutes.
Q: What can you do?
A: Go to Star Diner. They’re open at 6 AM on weekdays and ready to serve you a decent breakfast and get you on your way. They even have real maple syrup.
Problem solved.

Always a great meal at the Star !! This place can get busy but worth the wait. Nice portions and the Star special for breakfast is hard to beat. The girls are great also!

Finally checked out Star Diner! I don’t know why I pictured a really small, old school diner type of place… so I was pretty surprised when I walked into their Maumee location. High ceilings, modern décor. Loved the bright red tile on one wall! Hostesesses were very friendly along with the waitstaff. It was clear that they worked well together as a TEAM. My coffee mug (and water glass) was constantly topped off by either the hostess or waitress! Great strong coffee! They were very attentive even on a busy Sunday morning. My friend forgot her leftovers and our waitress ran outside in the FREEZING cold just to give it to her. THAT’S LOVE.
Ordered the Banana Foster French Toast which was delicious! Loved that they used challah bread instead of Texas toast or something. This morning was one of those mornings when I was jealous of my friends who ordered stuff like corned beef hash… their omelets were served in giant serving platters and filled with delicious food.
Hands down, in my top 3 places to eat breakfast in Toledo! Possibly my favorite?! Will definitely return… might even end up being my go-​to breakfast joint :).
