Country Inn & Suites By Carlson Toledo

This location has great reviews on trip advisor so I ended up staying there. The experience was average. There were three employees by the front desk, but apparently the lady on the phone was the only one who could assist me. There appeared to be some drama among the house keeping staff, but my room was ready and clean.
The building definitely shows it’s age. The carpets and luggage cart are in need of a deep cleaning. I was awoken in the night by the people upstairs. I wasn’t sure if the building just allows you to hear every step that people take or if there may have been children stomping around above me. Eventually I got back to sleep and then I was awoken again by the alarm clock that had the time in correctly set and the radio volume very loud.
The staff was friendly. The room was clean, but could use a deeper cleaning. The pool and hot tub area were nice. The building has a quaint inn feeling. I enjoyed taking my breakfast out to the patio. I liked that they had their weekly breakfast menu posted by the front desk. I was also pleased with the options. I am gluten free and dairy free, but I was able to find the basics of my normal breakfast. Overall it was a pretty good experience, but it definitely could improve a lot.

My wife fixed their toilet, saving them a visit from the plumber. There were stains on the carpet and the so-​called scrambled eggs were beyond horrible. Otherwise, this place barely passed for a Country Inn. I have never had an even slightly unpleasant experience had a Carlson property, until this one. The people were all nice, but it looked and felt more like a Super 8. It probably was worth the money, given the coupon we used.

On our cross country trip, we were looking for a pet friendly and reasonable place to stay for the night and shower. This place is truly very nice! It was brand new when we stayed (June 2010) and very comfortable, super clean and also convenient off the freeway. The rate was reasonable (especially with a discount that was graciously provided). It is pet friendly ($ 25) and also has free wifi internet, small fridge and microwave. Bathroom was so nice — not just clean but really slick with granite. I would bet that this is one of the best places along this route (80). Highly recommended!!!

I would love to give this hotel negative stars if I could, because that is what they deserve. Stay Far, Far away from this place!
My sister and I checked in and our first «nonsmoking» room reeked so horribly that we had to ask for another room. The kids were dying to go swimming, so we took them to the pool even though it looked filmy and dirty from a distance. Up close, it was even worse. The pool pump was broken and the water in this pool was the dirtiest I have ever encountered. I saw wads of hair floating by, as well as dirt and some other suspicious yellow blobs I believe were old scabs.
We went back to the room and attempted to use the bathroom to freshen up when we discovered that the clean wash cloths and towels were covered with small, black curly hairs. After pulling back the sheets and inspecting the beds we found little hairs here as well. It was gross! We were too uncomfortable to stay and immediately left.
While the man working the front desk was fairly polite, the manager is extremely rude, unhelpful and belligerent. We politely requested a refund, as we were there for no more than half an hour, and we were refused. We tried to call the manager again today to discuss our stay, but she hung up on us.
