Im being charitable here giving 2 stars because i got really sick from their mussels but the pizza is pretty decent… Pasta dishes and everything else should be avoided… It is what it is i guess

I am new to the Matawan area and heard rave reviews about this place — my customer service experience would unfortunately tell a different story.
After ordering a pizza online and waiting over an hour for my delivery, I called Attilio’s for an update on my order. The man who picked up the phone was polite, apologized for the delay, and advised my order was on it’s way.
20 minutes later. still no pizza. I called again, and kindly asked to cancel my order (I had 3 starving children waiting for food — I couldn’t wait any longer and had my husband run out to McDonalds!).
The same man I talked to previously picked up & was rude and obnoxious. While raising his voice, he advised the restaurant was super busy (at 7:45pm on a Thursday?) and that I lived too far from the restaurant for a fast delivery (I google mapped it — 3.5 miles).
I was told to never order from his restaurant again. Well, sir, you’ve got what you wanted — I will never call your place again. You’ve lost my business.

I used to order from Attillios frequently. The staff is always friendly but today when I ordered take out, I was repulsed to find a bug in my salad. My stomach is completely turned and I will no longer order here again.

Im actually let down by the high reviews on this place. The pizzas ok. But just ok. Its in a run down shopping center, the owners and workers arent really friendly, and the food takes FOREVER yet still isnt that hot or fresh. The pizza looks nothing like the pictures.
I wouldnt get it again.

You’ve gotta try this place! The sandwiches are great. Try the chicken parm or sausage and peppers, the sauce is amazing taste authentic and home made. Another favorite is Wednesdays which is a Sicilian pie special. The pie is huge it last my husband and I a few meals. I also usually try the penne vodka which is spot on! We’ve never dined in usually pick up order but look forward to bringing a bottle of vino and dining in one day.

Ate here once… ordered a sausage calzone… took a bit into the calzone and had a mouthful of raw sausage… OMG… the owner was like. Oh… do you want something else… and then charged me full price and had to tell him to take off the raw calzone… Never again.

I just moved into the area yesterday and wanted to feed my family and friends who helped my husband and I with the move. I checked Unilocal first thing and found this place. We ordered pizza to be delivered. It was delivered only a half hour later and it was delicious! I have found my go-​to pizza place! Thanks for the delicious pizza!!!

Everything I’ve ever eaten has been probably the best IMHO. I’ve eaten at almost every place in a 5 mile radius of my job. My two favorites are the chef salad and ANY of the cold subs. They’re huge and stuffed with toppings. Highly recommended!
