Just moved to town and got delivery of a burger on their focaccia and I am sold! So delicious, perfectly done, and came to my door piping hot! Cannot wait to try the pizza!

I am amazed this place is not even registered in Unilocal!even though it has been around for more than 40 years! The restaurant serves the area of Matawan, Aberdeen, Morganville, Old Bridge, even Spotswood. But you want to know about the food. Let me start by saying there is frozen itralian the comes in on a freezer truck and there his homemade. This place is all about homemade. The dough for the pizzas, their garlic knots, the bread for their subs, is made fresh each day. The ingredients for the sauces, the fruits and vegetables, the meats(beef, poultry, pork, fish), everything is freshly prepared for that day. That preparation is with every intent to ensure quality in the process AND the flavor of the plated meal. Today’s meal was with my parents as a chance for them to get out and stretch their legs a bit. For starters, the staff is just out of this world attentive and respectful to the customers. Attentive to your order request as if you are the only one in the store, even if the line is out the door. We were seated quickly. Drinks were served quickly — water and a couple of Coca-Colas. The store is a Coca-Cola store so everything drinks will be from Coca-Cola. Snapple is also available. Our orders were put in after about five minutes. Garlic knots and pepperoni knots showed up in about three minutes. The pepperoni knots were nice and warm, with great spice! Te garlic knots had equal quality in flavor and warmth. Both were soft with just the right bit of chewiness. Definitely a great starter! My Dad ordered the French Onion soup as an appetizer. Unbelievable flavor! This was not flavored water like you find at so many other places. This was a simple soup with just the right amount of onions and covering of mozzarella. I went with what they call«Grandma’s Pizza». Again, the first comment is the flavor! The flavor of the sauce was just right. Not too spicy, but just enough to grab your taste buds’ attention. The next aspect is the quality of the dough. It was not just some flatbread. It was fresh and baked just enough to be firm, but not a form of matzo. For our dinners, my Dad went with a half eggs and peppers sub. Normally these things at most places are maybe 4 or 5 inches in length. This was a full 7 inches in length. The bread had a wonderful crispiness on the outside and a just-right softness on the inside. Even better, there was no need to search for the contents, the eggs or the peppers. Just the right doneness for the eggs and quality sliced peppers. Both of them could be found readily and with lots of flavor. Mom absolutely loved the shrimp scampi she ordered with angel hair. It was great to get shrimp with pasta and not the other way around! The clarified butter was real with fresh spices — garlic, oregano, and rosemary. It was equally nice to actually taste fresh lemon, not from the«concentrated» bottle. For me it was the Beef Focaccia. The flavors that would cascade across the taste buds with each bite. Fresh bread, spices, the vegetables, the mozzarella and most importantly the roast beef. This was not something found in an old supermarket deli. This was freshly cooked with a quality mix of spices that nicely mixed with everything to make for a great dinner! All of these items are highly recommended! All in all, tremendous job!

Best pizza. Hands down. In town. Pizza is def better when the older guy makes it, though!

I recently found Angelo’s(Thank you, Unilocal.) A few weeks ago I tried calamari in red sauce, a side of broccoli rabe and veal parm– all good, generous portions. I went back today and got a white pizza and an eggplant pizza. That clinched it for me. My wife liked the white pizza a lot. I thought the eggplant pie ranks among the best pizza I have ever had anywhere, including New York and Italy. The crust was perfectly done and very tasty. The eggplant was big chunks, not thin over-breaded slices you get elsewhere. The cheese was fine and the sauce was really good, as well. Just perfect. The staff was friendly, as well. Their sandwich menu looks inviting, and maybe I’ll get around to it eventually. This is so much better than cheap chain pizza that it will be a revelation if that’s all you have ever had. Take it home, shut the TV and concentrate on the food. Tell me if I’m wrong.

My 2nd visit to Angelo’s wasn’t anything short of great. As always, great service. He’s very personable and accommodating. And the portions are never disappointing. Today I took advantage of the calamari spring salad/chicken noodle soup lunch special. All of the ingredients were fresh and the soup had a great broth. Not too thin or watery like most places. The calamari was fresh and fried well. I will DEFINITELY be returning and will DEFINITELY refer this restaurant to my friends in the neighborhood. … He delivers too.

This is my go to pizza place. The pizza is not cheap and it can get a little soggy in the box. Sauce is good and toppings are delicious. Dining in could use some ambiance but this is a take out place

We have this place cater our office for lunch at least 1 time a month. Everyone only has really good things to say about the food they get. Alot of people get the wraps and salads. I usually get the ranch grilled chicken salad or the raspberry grilled chicken salad. Both are extremely good. Their prices are pretty good and the salads are very filling.

Found this place on Unilocal driving through the area. Food is made to order. The home made focccacia might be one of the best sandwiches I have had. The prices are very fair for most of their menu, yet a little bit high for the focaccia sandwiches. Yet, the quality makes it worth it. The staff as well was very friendly and allows customizations to the sandwitches

Too doughy and overpriced. Dominos is better!

Best pizza joint in the area; it is their food, not just pizza, that corroborates thus. Daily specials are always a go to. Best Turkey foccaccia I have ever had. Plus the soups are great as well.

Angelos hits the spot EVERYTIME! We order from Angelos daily specials(which are faxed to us everyday) just about everyday. Their raspberry grilled chicken salad is perfect, their pizza is on point, and their hot and cold sandwiches are always good. Try the tuna, its made in small bathes to guarantee freshness. I gice Angelos five stars because the food is great, the gentleman who answers the phone and takes my order is always pleasent(even during mid lunch hour), and the delivery times are always reasonable and prompt. Thank you Angelos for a great lunch!

I’ve been ordering from Angelo’s for nearly 6 years and am never disappointed with the quality. Our favorites are their vodka sauce, Ceasar salad and the pizza of course! Pizza sauce is well balanced not too sweet and the dough is thin and not like cardboard like some other places. The delivery guys is awesome too! :-)

My favorite pizza place in the Matawan area. I can’t speak for any of the entrees, but Friday nights is pizza night for my boyfriend and I, and this is my favorite place to order from. Always delicious. Sometimes we get free garlic knots thrown in as well, which are also amazing. Service is always extra friendly.

My favorite pizza of all. Excellent tasting sauce. The right proportions of ingredients. The slight crisp of the crust creates just the right texture. Cooked just right.

I’ve been going to Angelo’s for about 5 years now. Been to all of the local pizzerias and just realized that this place is far and away better than the rest. I’ve never had anything bad here. Just a good, family owned, old school italian pizza place. The owner and staff are really friendly, and many times i leave with a bag of free garlic knots.

Angelo’s is my favorite go-to for great Italian food without a doubt! Whether in-dining, take-out, or delivery, food and service are both superb. No wonder, Angelo’s has been passed down and continued from generation to generation! They make the best penne vodka you will ever have… I have tried a handful of Italian restaurants, and none can compare. The garlic knots are scrumptious with no greasiness whatsoever. Their signature focaccia sandwiches are unbelievably mouthwatering. The focaccia bread is homemade and baked to perfection. Angelo’s makes sure to use the best and freshest ingredients available. Hands down, the best in the area :)

Angelo’s consistently serves up great pizzas, great entrees and great cannolli. Their portion sizes, as the previous reviewer noted, are more than generous. After having their pizza, you’d never consider eating at a Pizza Hut again. They always use fresh ingredients and it shows.

You can order pizza’s online or call them, this place no matter where you are will FedEx you a pie by the next day. The #2 sub is classic. ½ is enough for 2, and and a whole is enough for 4. That is unless you’re a guy. Guys can eat a whole by themselves. I witnessed this. Yummy garlic rolls, pizza bites and cannolli.
