I had lunch here. Very good food, but small portions for the money. Getting seated was a bit of a wait. I would go back just because the food was so fresh. maybe dinner portions would be a little bigger?

Great place for Thai mixed with local produce. I had the Merry Berry Curry with Shrimp. Great flavor with raisins, walnut and sweet potatoes.

I’d be happy to go back and support this family business, but, WOW… The prices are crazy high! $ 20 for fried rice?! I doubt I’ll return.

The food was excellent but the service was not very good. My boyfriend and I arrived and were told that they were waiting on people with reservations to show up before they could seat us. We sat down and waited for about 15 minutes until I finally asked the hostess how long the wait would be. She told me, «We’re in the process of setting up a table upstairs.» She finally takes us upstairs I was immediately puzzled. We were sat in a small room with plenty of open tables. My boyfriend and I were the only ones in the room. I was so worried that they would forget about us, since everyone else in the restaurant was seated downstairs.(It was very chilly in this dining room as well.) The whole thing felt very weird to me. I honestly felt like they treated my boyfriend and I differently because we didn’t have a reservation.

Nice stop in Mason! We ordered the chicken panang curry level 3:(which about a 1 on our spice level)… But the flavor was good!

We met a group of friends here for dinner about 11 months ago. The food and service were great. It was as if it was an entirely different place. We have been back many more times since that dinner. The boys like it, but don’t love it, so it is our go to weekday lunch date place. The service is quick and friendly and the food continues to be amazing. They typically have a daily special or seasonal curry, which never fail to be amazing. We have now tried most of the lunch menu and have not been disappointed with anything. The only thing keeping it at four stars, is the weekend menu is dinner during lunch hours, which is a little too expensive for lunch, in my opinion.

Must try chicken satay(a bit sweet though) duck curry and my all time favorite green curry. Decent service.

We went for my birthday. It was an intimate dining space. Paige was our server. He was very knowledgeable and funny. Everybody really enjoyed their meals. Try the sexy shrimp and hanger steak. Really delicious.

This place is top notch on all levels — presentation, charm, taste, service, drink menu, inventive dishes, mouth-watering desserts. You can always count on fresh and new seasonal and special menu items. I’ve had some amazing duck tacos with mango topping. Can be a romantic setting or good for(small) groups too.

Really good thai food — loved my panang curry(wish it included more vegetables) also took a really long time to come out, but I am assuming because it is freshly made. Overall a good experience.

I really like the concept of how they repurposed an old house to create the business. There is plenty of free off street parking. The food and service was excellent. The only downside for me was the prices seemed a bit high, $ 25.00 for curry and rice seems a tad excessive. I suppose if you factor in not having to drive downtown and the parking hassles while there, then it takes a little sting out of the prices.

This is one of the strangest restaurant experiences I have ever had. The first time we tried to come here they told us it would be 30 minutes before they could seat us. They had a half empty dining room. When I asked why that was they said they didn’t want to overload the kitchen. We left. This time we stood in the«lobby» for 10 minutes before we even got acknowledged. The host was also the only server. Once we were seated we ordered a couple drinks. $ 6.50 for a Rhinegeist and $ 9.00 for some cheap pinot grigio. Ouch. After looking at the menu they are not shy at all about their pricing. I thought we were in for a treat. Not so much. Everything we ordered was just ok. Nothing special. Definitely not going to be spending $ 75.00 on lunch at this place again.

Very good Thai food. Cute, old house. Cozy room with 5 – 7 tables, patio dining available, too. Mango bubble tea — sweet and refreshing. Pad Thai very flavorful; nice portion but not a huge«American sized» portion. Panang curry perfect blend of flavors. Spicy scale 0 – 5. 2 was a good balance of spicy but not too spicy.

First time at Banana Lead and it was a great experience. Went there for lunch and they were on top of the service and didn’t have to wait long for our food. Server was great giving us an overview of the restaurant and selling me in an infused tea that was made by the chef and delicious. Food was seasoned and cooked perfectly and was outstanding. Will definitely return

After searching for a halfway decent Thai restaurant in Cincinnati the past year, I finally found my go-to near my work out in Mason. I came here for lunch during the week and ordered the pad Thai dish(spicy level 2 out of 0 – 5). The service wasn’t very quick, but it was worth the wait. The restaurant is actually an old house and they have tables in the rooms upstairs and downstairs.

The food was good, but nothing stood out with our meal. The staff was very friendly and the ambiance was nice. Our lunch took a very long time to come from the kitchen, and we were the only ones in the place for 20 minutes. It was also very expensive for the portion size. I wouldn’t object to go back, but I am also in no rush.

I moved to Mason a month ago and had friends help us move. As a «thank you», I asked my friends«I want to take you guys out to a late lunch, where would you like to go» and the unanimous answer was«Thai food». A quick Unilocal search revealed that Banana Leaf was just a hop, skip and jump away from my new place, so off we went. Now we were under dressed for this place. It is in an old home and is beautifully decorated. The server and the hostess were warm and inviting and we were promptly seated. I ordered a Penang Curry with rice and of course, I can handle spicy so I asked it with max spice level. The curry was delicious and it was presented in a beautiful dish. The quantity was adequate. Overall, this is a great place for a casual dinner, a date night dinner or a birthday party. I would go there again…

Good Thai food with a bit of a different twist. The best way to describe this place is fancy Thai food. Basically it’s like a nice bistro style applied to signature Thai dishes with a few different takes thrown in and wrapped up with a finer presentation. The setting is nicely placed in a re-purposed old house. The service is handled with an attempt at a higher attention to detail and the customer in mind(fine dining approach). I was pretty pumped to try the mango sticky rice and while the presentation was good… it wasn’t all that exciting in the flavor department.

Banana Leaf would be considered more of an upscale Thai restaurant. The ambience is the only portion of the upscale part that holds true. They do take reservations, which is a plus. The food is tasty, but not for the price that they charge. The service could use some work. We began with the lettuce wraps. They were good, but overpriced. For entrees, we had the yellow curry fried rice and the banana leaf pad Thai. The yellow curry fried rice was excellent. I would order it again. The pad Thai fell short of what was expected. The peanut flavor overpowers anything else in the dish. The restaurant is cozy and on a nice day, the patio would be a pleasant change from inside. If you want a nice evening, this would suffice. If you want good Thai food at a good price, I would recommend checking your Unilocal app.
