Rude! I walked in and was looking at a table. The woman abruptly admonished me that I was in the«tea room» and nothing was for sale. How was I to know that antiques in an antique store weren’t for sale. Apparently business is good enough that you can bark at customers without fear of losing business. I returned the abruptness and abruptly walked out.

If you like antiques, Olde Towne Antiques in Martinez surely would have something to suit your interest. I’m not into antiques much myself(where would we put them?!) but both my wife and I like to look, and this place is great for that. We wandered through a store that seems to go on and on, dozens of nooks and crannies to investigate, housing every type of possible collecting interest known to man. Items ranged from inexpensive collectibles to antique, handcrafted furniture worth hundreds. Antique lovers in the Martinez area should definitely stop by.

If you want to go into an establishment where when you walk in the door, their is a man sitting in a chair looking at pictures of naked women, right in front of every man woman and child who comes thru the door by all means go to this place. If you happen to be the owners or know them, this man was about 5’8″ 55 to 60 yrs old with a baseball cap and a white goatee. Totally unacceptable behavior !!!

I love going to interesting little shops and looking for unique finds, and Martinez is a great place for a person like me. But with Olde Towne Antiques I was able to find this wonderfully ornamented chair at the perfect price. Inside, you’ll find tons of great discoveries, I’m sure if you go there you’ll find something you can’t live without!

Holy headless baby doll Batman! If you want rows and rows and rows of stuff, with the occasional antique thrown in, you have stumbled into the right spot. I found an antique mink shrug for $ 80. My husband wouldn’t let me buy it though. Buying antique fur really doesn’t count because doesn’t it cancel out if the original owner is dead now too? There are nooks and cranny’s and stair cases leading to more rows and rows of goodies. A glowing globe, a spinning crystal like Coors sign, a few California Raisins that are probably not worth more than 5 cents. I saw a Miss Piggy statue. A jade elephant with another elephant carved inside of it. There is just to much for one eye to take in. The prices seemed reasonable. Of coarse, I’m not the the most savy when it comes to antiques. For a unique gift idea, I would come here. However, I do think that the antique stores are an anchor around the neck of Martinez and if these were gone there could be more room for good future growth for this town.
