MYINITIALREVIEW: Found Jo using my go-to Unilocalers, thank you all. Recently moved to Walnut Creek and needed a new place for acrylics. Most don’t realize SoCal has tons of awesome people who can do your acrylics(properly). NorCal, honestly, DOESNOT. It is an unexplainable and exasperating mystery. After 8 years here, I gave up the search and have suffered through some of the crappiest workmanship. It boggles my mind and has been so frustrating. I was shocked that no one north could do even a fair job let alone someone who could do even an adequate job. Most did a horrible job. That being said, I am thrilled to report that have I FINALLY found someone who does a fantastic job in Northern California! Her name is Jo Zarnoch. Jo had to first work to eradicate the horror that was my nails before she could begin to do her handiwork. She listened to everything I wanted(believe me I am picky) and actually heard me. Jo delivered. It took over two hours because it was first necessary to remove the previous nails before she could even start my new nails. I am thrilled to say that my faith is restored. I like the simple clear and whites, trim, sleek, slender – not fanned out, not thick, not clumpy. She gave me exactly what I wanted, clean, bright, slim and trim. She did a FANTASTIC, FABULOUS, QUICK, EFFICIENTJOB. I might also add that she did not ONCE, cut me, burn me with the Dremmel(drill) or file, or mar me in any way. Doing a more involved job like my nails required, that’s saying something. Any of you ladies out there who’ve ever left bleeding know exactly what I’m talking about. Jo is a true professional. I am a happy girl! You will not be disappointed. UPDATE: While I was over the moon happy to have found Jo Zarnoch to FINALLY find someone who actually knew how to do acrylics and esp. pink and whites, this is an update to my initial review. What more could I possibly have to say that I didn’t already gush over in that first review you ask?!? Well, that would be that I am happy to report that not only has Jo continued to meet my high expectations, she has actually improved in the quality of her workmanship over time. Just when I thought her work was perfect for my needs, I discover that she is not satisfied with just meeting my needs. She actively continued to strive for more perfection. I first began coming to Jo in April of this year(see that review) and have loved what she did. But now my pink and whites are EVENBETTER! Jo knew I like them as thin as possible and made it her mission to continue to work on attaining that thinness that I coveted so much. I also have been trying to penny pinch lately so have been doing my own pedicures. I now have such a hectic schedule that I find my feet and toes in deplorable condition more often than I’d like. It’s such a pain to do your own pedicure. I finally caved and asked Jo if she does pedicures(Duh! in my defense, I had never seen her giving one.) Pedicure is a pedicure, right? NOTSO! And I am not embellishing here… It was actually the best pedicure of my life! Hundreds of mediocre pedicures at those little shops we all have been to(you know the ones I’m talking about ;-). In my experience, those have always been torturous for me as they tickled the he** out of my feet. No amount of begging asking them to be firmer in handling my feet worked. Don’t even get me started on the nail filing portion of that process! So I just sucked it up. Well, Jo started in and did things her way. I couldn’t believe it. Not once did I squirm. There was no torturous tickling. For the first time in my life I enjoyed a pedicure. Now I know what people were talking about! HEAVEN. She also scrubbed my soles in a way I’ve never seen done before. I couldn’t believe the amount of tough skin that was removed. I’ve never seen that before. Magic you ask? Jo clearly takes pride in her skills. Forget saving money. Jo’s pedicure was worth every cent! I went home and online booked the next several months of my pink and white appointments and included a pedicure with all of them. I had my second pedicure with Jo last night and have been promising to put up another review. The P&W? Flawless. My 2nd pedicure? Amazing again! Thanks, Jo! Needless to say I still highly recommend Jo’s services. Oh, and they don’t break even with how thin they are! Not unless I really bash my fingers into something. That’s on me.) Check out the pictures I posted of her handiwork, pun intended.
