Cold food, nasty fries and truly the most awful drive thru window on the Westbank. The burgers are inedible and small, the chicken so tough you cannot eat it. We’ve given this place every opportunity but we’re done. The only decent thing are the blizzards.

Twice we went out fries were soggy and chilly. My burger was not even hot or warm. This back on Jan Feb I blew it off as it being cold out outside. This past Wend 3÷9÷216 it was hurbule. We asked for fresh fries told the cashier about the fries being soggy cold. So she apologizes says she tell the guy to put fresh ones down. The fries were ok at least not soggy. But the Niger was so spicy and I ordered a dibble Swiss and am cheeses Niger. My sons chicken nuggets were cold. So we will no longer be going there. What ever happened to this place to get food so bad. We have been going here since they opened the food use to be hot fresh and great. What ever happened to the freshness of food to the cold chicken spicy Niger and wilted fries. Now the kids at taking the orders are very nice and try to make it right. This place need management skills where you tell your people fresh means fresh NOTCOLDNOTSPICYANDNOTWILTED. This use to be an awesome place to eat but I will not be back. I just hope if you are reading this that you think twice before you go here. One stair is one to meany in my book lastly.

These morons never have the chocolate ice cream machine working! This has happened at least 4 times in 2 months! And the blizzards are runny.

Went there last night Sunday Aug. 16th around 9pm they had the ½ off sign still up from Saturday Aug. 15th. The MOD told me it was still up because the opening manager didn’t know how to take the message down and she didn’t do it because it was raining. Electronic board not the way old lettering one. She told me I was the only one to ask all day about the sign.(Hours for Sunday 10:30am-10:00pm) She didn’t have offer anything for it still being up. Won’t be rolling up in there anytime soon. –2 stars

I don’t really like fast food burgers. I know that makes me non-American but still… not something I like. But if you HAVE to have a fast food burger, there suck much less than everyone elses. Plus, they make a mean fudge and cake. So A-ok is about the best a fast food place will get from me and this gets it. A new one is opening up in Gretna soon.

Been here 2 – 3 times, each time only had 1 person working, taking orders, cooking, serving… Should at least have 2 – 3 people in there. My hot dog was cold, chili was watered down, drink machine was off– way too much syrup. Oh, and when the worker flipped my blizzard it spilt…1st time ive EVER seen that happen. 2nd1 was made correctly tho. Took me bout 20 mins to receive my full order tho. They REALLY need to get more employees in that place. Im use to the dairy queens in Texas and this louisiana airline location seemed to be a cheap knock off of what a true Dairy Queen is like. Needless to say, I was excited when i 1st came across it but excitement faded quick.

I gotta say I didn’t think this place would still be open because I personally consider the Blizzard a labor intensive product… meaning long waits in the drive thru line or inside. If this was a McDonalds, yes… would be a total disaster, but these guys are hiring very friendly and motivated kids to work here and they can crank out Blizzards with some speed. Yay :-) The food part now… meh. I ate here twice, just doesn’t do it for me. But the Blizzards, this is now the only reason I come here now. Rarely every a long wait inside or through drive thru. Always have some sort of special as far as desserts go. Foodwise, if im in the mood for the types of food they sell here, I will go down the road to Sonic… for a Blizzard… nothing else like it around here.

Crusin down the street, real slow. What the fellas be yelling? Marrero! It’s been a very long time since MC Thick’s smash hit(at least on the WB) single, but every time I think of this area, I think of that song. That is, until now. Now I think of world famous Dairy Queen. This is the first«real» location of DQ to enter the New Orleans metro area. For years the only option for blizzards was a tiny ice cream only location on Airline Hwy near the airport. This is a full service location offering not only great ice cream treats, but their full food menu as well. Most people go to DQ for the treats, but I think their other items are why you should visit. My one and only trip to this location was pretty late at night. I was hungry, but didn’t want any of he usual suspects. Lucky for me DQ was open and serving their flamethrower burger. Service was friendly and extremely fast. I have a feeling this may be due to the lack of other customers, but I enjoyed it.

The ice-cream and drinks here are good. From blizzards, to icey slushies. YUM. As for food? No thanks, I’ll pass.

I’ve been avoiding DQ since they opened this location. It’s too close to my house, so I know I’m in trouble once Pumpkin Pie Blizzard season starts. Sigh. Luckily, the absolutely ridiculous crowds of people have mostly been enough to scare me off. This place has been open for almost a month, and apparently the novelty of an international chain fast food restaurant still hasn’t worn off(yes, please note the irony there). Anyhow, I finally gave in and the fiancé and I made a trip through the drive thru. A 20 minute trip. I had planned on getting a smoothie from Orange Julius, because unlike DQ, I can’t get Orange Julius anywhere else in the metro area. I was a little disappointed to see a tiny menu, like an afterthought. Instead, I went with a caramel brownie Blizzard. I think the fiancé had a M&M Blizzard. Both were good. The exact same as you would expect at any other DQ. Nothing special, hence the 3 stars. It truly is A-OK. I wish they had the full Orange Julius menu. I also wish it wasn’t as crowded, but that’s okay — it keeps me from going here more than once every month or two. I will say that I like the exterior of the building… they did a great job at putting everything together quickly, and still making it look good. The Airline Hwy DQ is kind of run down in comparison. I’ll make a return trip, once the seasonal Pumpkin Pie Blizzard is available.

DQ brings back childhood memories. Good ones. So when I heard an actual DQ opened up on the Westbank, as opposed to some strip mall in Metairie, I wandered over to see what they were doing. First off, if you are eating in, you order at the counter and they bring your food to you. Sounds great, except they forgot to bring my milkshake and I had to go up to the front and get it after I was done with my food. The sandwich I ordered with no mayo was made correctly, and was pretty good for fast food. The fries were good, and the milkshake was outstanding. I’ll be back after giving them some time to work out their kinks.

First time @ DQ, I got the Strawberry CheeseQuake Blizzard! I’m not going to lie; it was good, but not anything out of the ordinary! But here’s the thing, I personally hate the full feeling I get after eating ice cream. I guess I’ve gotten so used to Pinkberry and other light frozen yogurts, eating ice cream now makes me feel like a Fatty McFatFat. But that’s just me personally. The way I describe blizzards to other people is this, «It’s basically a McFlurry with much softer and better quality ice cream, and you have much more flavors to choose from.» My boyfriend ordered the flamethrower burger which was better than I expected it to be, mainly because of the flamethrower sauce that was pretty spicy. I LOVE spicy foods so I was just fine with that! :) I honestly don’t understand the huge craze over it, and the ridiculously long lines during the day. Quick tip: Wait an hour before they close to go! There’s still a crowd, but you won’t wait long at all. Another tip: Don’t park in their lot! Park in the grassy area or somewhere else and walk over! The space is really small. I have to commend the workers on how well they handled the crowds and how quickly they made our desserts and food. I was quite impressed since I did go within their first week opening. All in all, good place, not amazingly GREAT. My advice would be to wait til the hype dies down then go. If you LOVEEEE ice cream(and I do mean ice cream, not frozen yogurt, gelato, etc.) this is the place to go to get something quick and better than the ice creams from local fast food places. I will most likely come again to try other flavor blizzards and some other foods since my friends tell me the paninis are good.

You know I had to be one of the first to check out the first Dairy Queen on the Westbank. I had been looking forward to checking this place out, since since I had heard that DQ was finally coming to my area. I went expecting a crowd, and I wasn’t disappointed. I mean, they had to have the JPSO out there directing traffic! Despite the crowd, it was all very organized and the drive thru line moved quickly. And I must say that the staff was super nice, even though they were swamped. I ordered a turkey club sandwich, which came on a panini type of bread and, of course, a strawberry cheesequake blizzard. Both were so good. The sandwich was excellent and deli style, even though it was just fast food. The blizzard was wonderful and left me wanting to try all of them. Needless to say, I will definitely go back. There is so much I want to try!
