What is happening? National brands need to be better about inspections. This place is dirty, full of flies with broken down only half working bathrooms. what is going on. This is why I avoid fast food.

Super clean, hot and fresh breakfast. Nick served us and was really friendly and funny-he went out of his way to make the visit great. Best Burger King I’ve been to!

Our Prius liftback has a range of 595 miles –50mpg and a 11.9 gallon tank. However when my wife is driving, our Prius has a range of 70 miles. Why the discrepancy? Read on. My wife is driving from Yosemite Lodge at the Falls to Mariposa, drinking coffee. Now Mariposa is a 1 hour drive, in my wife’s case 75 minutes, since she drives the speed limit, unlike everyone else going 10 or 15 mph over the speed limit. When she drinks coffee, the liquid goes through her right to her bladder. The more she drinks, the less time she can drive. 1 hour, or 2 hours at most, she has to make a pit stop –what do you expect of a 62 year old lady? And right on the side of the road is Burger King of Mariposa, with very clean bathrooms. This time, the Burger King is almost empty –very unusual, as it is the only fast food burger restaurant for 37 miles around –the nearest fast food burger joint is in Merced, 37 miles away. The wife makes a bee line for the bathroom, only to see an ‘out of order’ sign not only on the women’s bathroom, but also on the men’s bathroom, which my wife would have used without hesitation! We have a 2 or 1 coupon for a Whopper, and order 2 whoppers, no mayo, one with cheese, and one without cheese. I’m the weird one without cheese. No mayo, so we can still fit in our pants at our senior age! Service is excellent, and our Whoppers arrive within 4 minutes. Now that’s service! Mouth watering whoppers, with fresh sliced lettuce, tomato and pickle, in a very clean restaurant, with no litter on the floor, and no sticky spots on the tables, nor food crumbs on the floor. Nick the manager stops by for a chat, and says that the employees are in the same situation –no bathroom for the past 2 days. I’m amazed that anyone could hold it for 2 days! The toilets have been stuffed up –did someone eat too many whoppers and have the mother of all sit down jobs?! No, Nick explains that one visitor flushed a bunch of keys down the toilet, and stuffed them up! Talk about crappy timing! They’ve called for a plumber, but the plumber will have to add 2 hours of commuting time to reach Mariposa from Merced. That’s a lot of whopper sales! And Burger King has it’s own set of contractors. Nick kindly explains that if one walks around the block through the parking lot, just past the museum, there is a long term parking lot with public restrooms available. We head over there, and find restrooms with gang graffiti on the walls, but workable toilets. Lots of taco trucks here –just don’t eat too many tacos and stuff up the public toilets, as the burger king employees will have no place to go!

It’s ok. All that matters to me is good service . Except for who helped me last time I was there

I’ve been meaning to update this review. The last few times I’ve been here I’ve dealt with some pretty moody workers that don’t want to be at their job or some workers who are completely clueless. Today we got chicken fries — we only counted like 8 in all — yes you heard me — 8! And the lettuce on my mom’s chicken tender grill was so disgusting! Burger King step up your game! You are letting me down! :(

Stopped here for something, anything, and of course at 9:45 a.m., you’re limited to the«breakfast» menu… ordered a #4, which is a biscuit with choice of sausage, bacon or ham. Ordered the item with sausage. Got it, drove to the end of town on my way to Fresno, opened up the sandwich and it was stone cold and hard as a rock. It actually looked like fake food. The cheese was so cold and hard that I couldn’t peel the biscuit(which was also cold and hard) away from it. I did try one bite, but after that it went back into the bag and into the trash at Cathey’s Valley. I was so tempted to take it on home and mail it back to the restaurant… its condition would not have changed after a couple of days in the mail. What’s disturbing is that the person who sold it to me was hoping I wouldn’t open the bag in front of the window and make a fuss. Believe me, next time I will.

I don’t eat fast food very often, and although I hate to admit it, trying out a small town’s definition of a 3-star dining experience has usually left me hungry, a little sad, and worried that I’ll come down with something. So the only reason why I ate at this Burger King on our little weekend getaway is because I know what it’s going to taste like. That said, I found the people who work here awesome. I spent seventeen times as much for dinner at the Ahwahnee(that review is forthcoming) and was treated atrociously. Good service has as much of a lasting impression as terrible service.

I haven’t been to burger king in a while(4 years). Their upgraded menu look is great! On our way to Yosemite, we stopped at BK at Mariposa, as this was the only fast food place that appeared on 140. We decided to eat breakfast here with my and my friend’s family. Menu looked great, staff was friendly and we got what we ordered and the place was clean. But the lady store manager was bit whacky and unfriendly. Looking at the jazzy ads for the mango smoothie, our 5&6 year olds wanted the yellow drink. Looking at the size of the drink, I knew the kids won’t finish the drink on their own. So I wanted to buy a drip and split the drink into two cups. Manager jumped into the conversation from nowhere, wouldn’t give me an empty cup to split the drink into two nor would let me buy an empty cup for a charge! Made me wonder whether this is part of BK’s revamped strategy to compete with McD or just an isolated whacky manager who is unfriendly. Rest of the staff seemed nice and friendly at this Mariposa Burger King!

This appears to be the only fast food place in Mariposa. Over the years, it served as a very convenient road stop during trips to Yosemite when driving on Highway 140.

The service here is a bit slow even when the restaurant is empty during the early hours around sunrise. The employees are also a bit too chatty and talkative even when customers are within earshot. However, this is the last cheap and relatively quick food option prior to Yosemite National Park, so I’ll still have to drop by with some reservations. Food has been fine.

Soooo. It’s a chain. The food is fine. The prices are standard Burger King prices. However, service is here is definitely hit and miss. There have been numerous incidents of employees swearing loudly and repeatedly behind the counter or while out around the tables cleaning(one time it was racial slurs). They also tend to be not that fast. On numerous occasions I’ve stood at the counter for a minimum of 5 minutes, with a completely empty restaurant. I’ve actually filed customer complaints to the hotline on the back of the receipts, but have never received any responses The good things about this place is that it’s open past just about every other place in Mariposa(except maybe Pizza Factory) and it’s cheaper than Happy Burger. I go back every now and then in the hopes of a better customer service experience… not so much.

The manager here has a crazy lazy eye but was very helpful.(Although the way this guy was trying to upsell breakfast you would have thought I was at a car dealership). However, I got everybody breakfast for under 13 dollars which I could not have done anywhere else in Mariposa. Oh and on a side note these guys serve the whole menu all day but it’s cooked to order(fine with me) which a lot of other BK’s don’t do.

Burger King rocks! After spending most of the day(10hrs) hiking Yosemite’s Half Dome and not packing any real food(we were hiking with just water, nature valley bars, & rice krispy treats — very stupid, we should’ve packed some sandwiches and gatorade), Burger King was freakin’ delicious. The staff were really nice and chill, and they gave us much props for driving up from the bay area and completing the Half Dome hike in a single day. I order the Double Whopper meal and my cousin had the Chicken Sandwich meal. We were both starving(it was about 6:30pm) from a whole day without any real food(I hadn’t eaten any real food since 12am that morning), so we inhaled the food with only a couple bites. Thank god there’s a Burger King in Mariposa. I would totally recommend anyone who’s starving after hiking Half Dome to stop by this place and grub on some good fast food. Oh yea, btw, as a sidebar, so I asked the girl working there what people out in Mariposa and Yosemite go/do for fun, and she told me that for fun, people drive over to Merced for the big movie theater and a mall… I never knew that Merced was a destination for fun — learning new things everyday.
