My family and I have been to Yosemite three times so far. We always have to eat at Happy Burger Diner. It has amazing food and I have never eaten something I don’t love.

INCREDIBLE garlic burger!!! Omg, I’ve had some great food in my time but this was absolutely THEBESTBURGER I’ve ever had! Great job guys! Be sure to split your meal with someone else, tons of food! Reminded me of the Tasty Freeze in my hometown! Very yummy.

We stopped in for dinner because of the mostly positive reviews and I’m happy to say our experience was extremely positive — in fact it was so good that we came back the next night and both ordered the same menu items. The menu has any burger or sandwich you could dream of along with salads and other options. We found it very reasonably priced for the portions and, more importantly, taste. We also found the staff to be cheerful and helpful.

Surprisingly delicious! My sister and I were searching for a breakfast stop outside Yosemite National Park before we headed our different ways, and fortunately Happy Burger Diner was the only thing open Monday morning. For a diner, I was pleasantly surprised! The place was decorated with old records, pictures and ‘antique’ decorations. You order at the counter and then grab a seat and they bring the food to you. I had the biscuits and gravy which I thought was very good. My sister had the blueberry pancakes which also was tasty! Who knows, maybe it was camping for 4 days eating nuts, tuna and rice. If so please let me know! Haha But seriously… check it out!

They advertise«the largest menu in the Sierra.» It very well could be. We went here last night after some hiking in Yosemite. My wife had the Jr. Bacon cheeseburger which is big. I had the bacon cheeseburger which is bigger. Both were delicious. The bacon was nice and thick not your usual thin bacon on a burger. The deep fried tater tots are worth the extra .99 cents. The hot dogs are huge. My son was impressed with the very clean sink in the restroom. We will eat here again.

There was a hair in our eggs, it took over 10 minutes to get a fork, and our food took over an hour to come out. The food was mediocre.

Dropped in for breakfast on Sunday morning, and then again on our way back through Monday for lunch. This place has a fun, funky atmosphere, but not over the top, so you still feel like you can eat your eggs in your jeans and tshirt. The walls are papered with old record album covers, which was fun to look at, and old posters and clippings of the area. They have the standard dining area with bench seats and soda fountain, a larger indoor room with tables for a group(although you can sit anywhere), and an outdoor area, covered with a shade, and cooled by large fans. The bathrooms are outside, but surprisingly clean for such a touristy area. One detail I loved was a power strip at each table in one area for plugging in your various electronic devices. For travelers, finding something like that is a coup! The food was great. For breakfast I had basic bacon and eggs, and the only complaint I had was that the bacon was super greasy. Delicious though. My husband had biscuits and gravy and raved over them. When we went back for lunch I had a bacon cheeseburger. It was nice juicy burger with a ton of flavor — even perfectly ripe tomato slices. The fries were your standard diner fare, but I ate all of them! I will definitely stop here the next time I’m traveling through. If you’re looking for a burger, this is your place. They have a zillion options. The staff is friendly, the restaurant is interesting, and the food is great. A terrific combination.

Came here to grub before heading down to Yosemite Valley. I liked the look and feel of the restaurant. it feels very accommodating. They’ve got places for you to charge your phone and WiFi. When we came in at 11, they told us it would be about 20 – 30 minutes. No big deal, we had some time to kill. I decided to order the 6.99 breakfast special, and my companions ordered similar breakfast items. The food overall was good for breakfast, but probably should have ordered for lunch instead! What was supposed to be a 20 – 30 minute wait took about 50 minutes before we got our food. I understand they were busy and everyone there was quite pleasant, but the wait time put a damper on the entire experience. Definitely recommend calling ahead.

Funky burger place that I thought was gonna be a greasy spoon. They have a fresh and well diversified salad bar. Also an assortment of vegetarian burger and sandwich options. I had a turkey burger with cheddar, red onion, tomato, lettuce, mayo, mustard and ketchup. I also composed a descent salad from their salad bar. You walk up to the counter inside and order your food. They have written menu info on the wall and normal menus. Once you order, you can find a booth or table in the L shaped dinning space. This was a nice stop once we had driven the 45 minutes away from Yosemite, back towards San Francisco. The bathrooms are located on the front of the building in small compartmental rooms, like a gas station rest-stop. No complaints on its cleanliness.

What a cute place in the mountains outside of Yosemite National Park! Only place I could find for a great breakfast that was open at 6 am in this sleepy town. I base the five star rating on the fact that this is a diner– it is not a five star restaurant. Great coffee– flavored creamers always get an additional star from me. Friendly staff — you do order at the counter but they bring out the food. At 6 am you can have anything on menus– including a salad! Digital juke box with thousands of songs from every genre. Eggs fluffy, potatoes crispy and hash well spiced and fully grilled(hate partially cooked hash with a cold center). In addition– gave me a warm feeling inside to see an awesome 20 year old girl relaying customers orders to the cooks in the back in that diner lingo only Flo and Mel understood! Great place!

Call to place your order, regardless if you’re taking out or dining in, otherwise you might be sitting and waiting for a long while. We(2 people) came here on a Monday morning and ordered at 9:50am, were told it was a 45min wait, and waited for about 1.5 hours before our food arrived. Food fills your hungry belly but was nothing spectacular. We ordered the biscuits&gravy + eggs and a fiesta omelette. The family-owned business’s service and friendly staff made up for the wait. Remember to call in to place your order if you end up dining here!

We were craving some vegetables, and the $ 4 side salad from the salad bar fit the bill! We also enjoyed our sandwiches, but I’m still on the search for quality onion rings. Definitely a great place to stop for a quick bite in Mariposa.

HAVEAGAIN: The guacamole bacon cheeseburger was very good but costs $ 11. Shoestring fries were very good. Crinkle fries were ok. Onion rings were good. Fun place to eat. NOTHAVEAGAIN: The chocolate milk share was good, but needed more ice cream.

Weird set up in a diner that likes to overload you with lots of old album covers and so many hand-made signs that tell you this and that that(especially the one that warns that your food will come out in 10 – 20 minutes) — it is kinda overwhelming. So go find a menu. Order it from the cashier. Then sit down and wait in a booth as you stare at all the old school record albums on the ceiling. If you need to use the restrooms, they are all outside. Perhaps peruse the unsold souvenirs that have been hanging in the corner from 2003. If you need the wifi password, ask one of the staffers. The food is delivered to your table after about 15 minutes. Go search for the hot sauce and condiments near the cashier and help yourself to more coffee if the bus boy hasn’t swung by your table. We were on our way home from Yosemite and had originally wanted to go to another diner down the street, but it was closed on a Monday. This was a decent substitute.

We stopped for Happy Burger Diner for dinner on our way home from Yosemite. It wasn’t very crowded on a Tuesday night, so we were able to commandeer two adjacent tables for our rather large group. I pulled out a laminated menu and opened it up. I forgot: the menu is HUGE. I seem to recall an ancient Chinese proverb which goes something like«having too many choices is just as bad as having too few.» They claim to have the«largest menu in the Sierra.» I suggest picking a section first. Your choices are Charbroiled Burgers & Sandwiches, Hot-N-Cold Sandwiches, Mexican Food, Salads, and Dinners. Then just focus on that section and make your selection. I scanned the list of burgers until I saw… the Buffalo Burger. $ 11.99. They recommend it medium, so that’s what I ordered and how I ordered it. Then I looked at the options for fries… until I saw the Pesto Fries. I love pesto, and this sounded interesting. 99 cents extra to upgrade my fries. Sold. The pesto fries were very tasty. I wish they were crispier on the outside, but I think that putting the pesto on the fries may have made them a little mushy. The highlight of my meal was the buffalo burger. The meat was of good quality and tasted excellent. I loved how they grilled the bun so that its outside edge was browned and crispy all around. Be warned. There is a sign which says«food takes about 20 minutes.» I didn’t think my food took that long to cook, but I wasn’t timing it. Then again, the only other people in the diner already had their food, so they were only cooking for us. As for décor, there are LPs all over the walls and the ceiling. It was fun to walk around to spot albums that my parents still own.

Good food. Everything tasted good. The lady who took the order was nice and friendly. Waited for 20 min for my food. That’s why 4 star. Other than that this is a great restaurant.

Stopped in for breakfast this morning. The girth of the menu is quite impressive and included some vegan options. So they are vegan that they only stick to vegetables, beans, etc and do not offer a glut of vegan products like faux meats and cheeses. Service was very friendly and the restaurant is charming filled with quirky bits of things here and there. Their was a huge fan running in the restaurant that made it a little chilly. The omelette and home fries were good but they could have been served warmer. Decent place to try when you are passing through the area.

Happy indeed, very friendly service and more than a few vegan options. Several of the menu options are marked as being possible to make vegan. Unfortunately this includes the scramble, which if you take the eggs and cheese out, is just hash browns. So I opted for the cheaper hash browns. To that end, it’s not much of an improvement over regular breakfast places with the exception of having almond milk. Still, there’s lots more vegan options for other meals, and the staff were excellent. The place itself is a trip and worth visiting for that alone. The ceiling is tiled with old school LP covers, and I went a couple of rounds with the Star Trek pinball machine! Would probably return if I went back that way, but please offer a credible vegan breakfast option besides the oatmeal.
