I am in town for a work conference and we chose to eat at Jimmy’s because it is close to our hotel. I was with a co-worker and our initial impression was great, friendly staff and fast service. I ordered a glass of wine and she ordered a captain and coke and both came out fast, the wine was a heavy pour and the captain and Coke was perfectly mixed. We both ordered from the specials menu, a grass fed burger on a ciabatta roll with bacon and cheddar — medium. Our meals came out in a reasonable amount of time, hers was well done with some crisp edges, my burger was completely charred and unpalatable with a burnt bun. The waitress came back a few minutes later and I sent back the burger, stating that it was burnt. She apologized and came back a few minutes later stating that my new burger was cooking. I received my new burger within 10 minutes or so — not the special, regular bun, no bacon, still not medium but better — not pink at all but not burnt to a crisp. She did not come back and ask me if that burger was better until I was almost finished. I then informed her that the burger was better but it wasn’t what I ordered but I ate it because no one came back and I was hungry. She apologized again and told me she would adjust the price to a regular cheeseburger. The service was ok but I felt like the least they could do after the second screw up was comp a drink. I wouldn’t recommend and I won’t be returning.

Service was slow on a slow night. However… If you are ever on death row and asked what do you want for your last meal request, no demand the Monte Cristo from here. You will arrive at the pearly gates or the gates of hell happy to be there with a full belly

I’ve lived in Mansfield a few years now and finally got around to checking this place out! I went with a party of 4 and we didn’t have to wait long to be seated, maybe 5 minutes? We all ordered a beer, which was about the only thing that came out in a reasonable amount of time. For starters, we tried the fried pickles which were a bit disappointing, but we also tried the buffalo chicken rangoons which were pretty good. For dinner, the Chicken Nappa Valley was DELICIOUS! I’d go back just to get it again. The only reason I didn’t give this place a higher rating was due to the service being unbearably slow. 2.5 hours for dinner is a bit much. Good thing we weren’t in a rush to go anywhere after!

The owner and staff are great people. Owner was concerned I waited to long to bring my take out home but I can say best steak and cheese around even cold(cold because I didn’t leave)! Great beer selection and food. Give it a shot and you will like it! Not a local but they warm up quick!

I’ve been to Jimmy’s many times but had not been here in a few years. My wife and I had dinner her in Dec 2015 and we both very disappointed with out meals. She had the steak tips and I had a veal special. In my opinion, steak tips are a litmus test for any restaurant. I mean you marinate them and grill them and you’re done. The average Joe homeowner can make decent tips. Well Jimmy’s failed horrible. My wife asked for medium and got well done, bland, luke warm steak tips. The veal special I ordered was the same horribly way overcooked but at least the veal was hot. Our waitress did a good job but will be a long time before I return to this mess. If a restaurant can’t produce a decent order of steak tips they really need to look at their quality control.

Not often I see a dozen craft beer taps and most are unfamiliar. Agree with the rave review of the Monte Cristo sandwich and the bartender was great too. Really wish this place was closer to me.

We went on Friday nite and were seated right away, the waitress was very friendly and got are order right which is a great way to start off. We both had the haddock were was excellent with a salad which was fresh and not wilty and baked potatoes which were cooked just right, nothing worse than one that is microwaved and tastes like a rock. We will be back for sure !!

Ok I’ll start by saying this place isn’t terrible. Pretty basic, outdated pub. I had the queen size prime rib, it was cooked great but no au jus… I’m not sure that’s even legal. The cole slaw is kind of weird, very garlicky and not creamy. Fries were very good. I also had the panzanella salad and there was no vinegar or oil, very dry. The person that made it obviously has never actually eaten a panzanella salad. My husband got the coconut shrimp, they were huge. They weren’t huge because the shrimp were huge it was a super thick coating of coconut and batter on the outside. They were just ok. He also had the seafood casserole, the stuffing on top was good but the seafood seemed a little plain. I’m not saying the things we ordered weren’t good but with a few tweaks here and there they could be really good. As some of the other reviews said it does take forever here. We waited soooo long for the appetizers, then we waited soooooo long for the dinner, then we waited sooooooooo long for the bill. My husband said maybe the waitress was also making the food(he may have been right).

This place absolutely kills me. It’s got a good beer selection and good food, but but by the time I started eating, Haley’s comet had come around again. I don’t know what it is about this place, but it takes forever to get the food out. I keep hoping that management will get their act together and staff this place adequately, but every time I come here, I have to board my dog so he doesn’t starve by the time I get home. Come on Jimmy’s, get your act together so I don’t need to hire a caretaker to cut my lawn. You have good food and a quality bar, but I don’t have that many years left to wait around to get my dinner. Please hire somebody that can keep the same quality, but can get my dinner out to me in under an hour. And I do not believe this was my waiters fault as he was professional and apologetic about the delay.

Great food, good beer choices, awesome service. George(the bartender) was very friendly and inviting. If I’m ever in the area again, I’ll stop by for sure.

We went for a late lunch and everything was very good. The early bird specials were well priced and we enjoyed them. There was a nice selection on the menu and the service was excellent however it was not crowed so not sure about that. The only complaint was that the menu was quite different than the website that was outdated.

Place is awesome! The owner George is fantastic! Being a Yankee fan he is someone worth sparring with! Service is good and atmosphere is lively. Bar is a sports place with a great selection of different beers. Food is VERY good and they are willing to go off the menu if you want something different. Highly recommend this place when in the area!

Eating at Jimmy’s Pub & Restaurant is like time traveling to a British pub in the 1980s. Décor and rules are super outdated(NO tank tops, shoulder-bareing-heathens; NO non-MA licenses, out-of-staters) but the atmosphere is cozy. We showed up around seven on a Saturday and got a table for five(with one being a small child) with no wait. The bar area was totally full though, so when my husband and I showed up a bit earlier than our friends we were disappointed to find there was nowhere to sit and drink while we waited. Contrary to other posts, our service Saturday was excellent. Our waitress was attentive and took great care of us. The beer list was diverse and the food overall was pretty good. Sadly, I was the only person who did not really enjoy their dinner. I ordered the«Harvest Ravioli» and it was super bland. I would not recommend it to anyone unless they are on some sort of diet requiring«mild» food. Everyone else got fish and chips(which were great) and my friend got the lobster pasta dish which was so much tastier than mine. Jimmy’s is a good place for a meal if you’re in the area, but it’s inconsistent menu and weird rules mean it’s not worth going out of the way for.

Garlic parmesan wings are delicious! Service is very slow. A little outdated with the décor and no windows, but I’d go back for the wings.

I was looking for a good spot to meet halfway with a friend and Mansfield was it so we decided to try Jimmy’s. Upon parking, I realized I’d eaten here probably 15 years ago, but honestly didn’t remember much! It’s definitely got this small-town neighborhood favorite feel to it, with people at the bar who were clearly regulars with a good variety of people seated in the dining area. Our waitress, Stephanie, was just the right amount of attentive, making sure we didn’t lack for anything without being intrusive. The food was honestly so much better than I expected. I had the Napa Valley chicken dish which was chicken with veggies and tortellini in a cream sauce and it was absolutely fabulous. My friend’s NY sirloin was also cooked a perfect medium rare and she was raving. This will definitely be a place we keep in mind when we’re in the area looking for a good meal. Only downside was the wine list was a little sparse, but what they did have was quality.

This place has a good selection of craft beer. I was able to get Samuel Adams Summer Ale here. This place offers health conscious choices. Therefore, if you’re a vegetarian there are plenty options for you here. For example, vegetarian friendly salads priced at $ 8 at a filling size portion. They also have a hummus wrap which is $ 10. If you’re vegan they offer zucchini sticks on the appetizer menu for $ 8. I personally at the Mediterranean vegetable pasta that includes heart artichokes and broccoli. Of course, being the«habanero hog,» I did have to add some tabasco that took the flavor to the next level. I loved the pasta, the temperature of the plate was just right! Bonus: Make sure to ask for the early bird specials if you come in around lunch time. It’s a separate menu from the regular menu/today’s specials. This is what originally brought me in here. However, I had to ask the waitress about it and she acted stumped… and then went to go get it. When I saw the pricing I could see why it was on the table to begin with… amazing deals! It displays about eight entrée specials. Each entrée comes with a soup/salad and a drink for $ 12. They have plenty of seating and a nice bar to sit at. This location also has their own parking behind the restaurant. There is also street parking(not free).

Okay. So I was a little hesitant to go here because I had heard that the owners son was a snob and only wanted a certain«class» of people at his restaurant. Well, I’m glad I went because the food was delicious. I got the scollops and they were awesome. My dad got this chicken plate(see attached picture) and he loved it. Parking was easy. The waitress was fast and polite. I haven’t sat at the bar yet but when I do I’ll update the review. My only negative is that it’s definitely not cheap to eat here.
