This is a great place to go before/after Patriots games! If you aren’t tailgating(you should be tailgating) this is a good alternative to spending $ 8 per drink somewhere in Patriot Place. It makes its way right to the«dive bar» line, but does not cross it, giving it a local feel without feeling like you’re in a shady place. If the Patriots play at 1, this is a great place to go to catch the games at 4. Same goes for if the Pats play at 4, this is a good place to go for the night game. There’s also a hotel attached to the bar in case you plan on having a little too much fun to drive home. Fusion 5 is definitely a place for the real NFL fans on Sundays.

Every bar near Gillette Stadium should have a hotel strapped to it. I park behind here for every Pats game and to play how many two dollar drafts can I drink, the best part is you always win. The place is huge, though you wouldn’t know if from the outside. As far as live band bars go, its unshadey and clean.

Stealth Club: Really nice club in a wholly unremarkable building. Looks like a nondescript Rt. 1 motel from the outside, but they’ve done an amazing job at rigging up the space inside. All black with great lighting and a killer sound system. Wide array of beers at the bar and regular live bands. Huge dance floor — no cover the night I was there. Prices were really reasonable — Skip Patriot Place and check this out.

Whoah! Easy on there, Cambridge! I gotta clear some things up here… Just so that loose«Aryan Brotherhood» comment doesn’t go uncorrected, the sign on the door reads«No Colors, No Support Shirts» –THISDOESNOTMEAN«no PEOPLE of color» for crying out loud! It means no gang colors, and support shirts are like what some dude wearing a high school graduation-year shirt got stabbed in a rock club for wearing not too long ago up in NH… it had 81 on the back, which means in some circles«support» for a certain motorcycle club(the 8th and 1st letters of the alphabet are H.A. – you do the math)… I’d say that’s a good policy in a room where my friends, both black and white, are watching my band. SOOO: Fusion 5, for those of you who haven’t been there, is easy to drive past even when ur lookin for it. Trust me, I did this, and so did others. If you’re coming South on Rt 1 in Foxboro, the place is more or less a mile past Foxboro Stadium on the opposite side of the street from the stadium. It is found inside an old white motor inn with blue shutters and one of those drive-under portico/drop-off-ur-bags-at-th-front-door type deals in front. The sign says«America’s Favorite Motor Inn» and under that is a smallish rectangular sign with the Fusion 5 logo on it. There is parking in front and in back, and rooms can be had for 60 American dollars. A real time-warp old-school roadtrip motel extraordinnaire. Wanna go crazy? Spring for the 2 beds and the 10 bucks extra. ;) Once inside the club, though, you feel like you’re in prime Boston real estate where rooms cost half a week’s pay. Seriously, it stands up to your better sports/rock halls and if this were located in Faneuil Hall, it would be one of the better places in Boston to catch live local and bigger acts. They do charge a 5 $ cover some nights, but Thursdays are usually free with local original bands showcased(which is pretty cool for local bands) but anyways with 1.99 Bud drafts and 3.50 Bass Ale drafts, overall expenses shouldn’t come anywhere near what a night out in Boston gouges u for. Seriously, it’s a real neat place to see a band– very big room, nice wrap-around bar, lots of flatscreens for the game, 3 pool tables and a bar staff that is consistently and almost shockingly attentive, quick and friendly. Seriously, these brew jockeys appreciate your biz and there’s not a pill in the bunch. Oh yeah, and they have a fantastic stage, amazing PA(BRINGEARPROTECTION) and light show that really enhance all the bands’ presentations. Really, the stage, lights and sound are exceptional for a live music bar. They of course have a sound man who also controls the light show, which is not exactly standard in live local band-type bars. They also have great back-door access to the stage for load in/out of the bands equipment, and a fenced-in outdoor smoking area with tables and umbrellas which you can bring a drink out to in one of the plastic cups kept on a table at the door. All you smokers will appreciate that, having been forced to leave your drink unattended and go smoke standing in the street outside just about every Cambridge bar you’ve ever been to. ;)

I am a fan of the burgers here! Chef Christine does a nice job of cooking a variety of burgers, complete with fries of your choice. All good bar food and I am pleased to say the burger was actually really hot when it arrived — that never happens. The fusion burger had a nice sweetness to it with the bourbon sauce and the fajita burger had a nice combination of peppers onions cheese and beef. Loved the cilantro dipping sauce on the poppers too. The band was a little loud when we walked in but they took a break and dinner was enjoyable. This is a great place for lunch, pre or post game munchies or to eat and rock out, play pool and not have to leave. Check it out and say hi to Christine the chef — she loves feedback!

Whoa. This is a strange place. I would not have gone here, except my friend has friends who go here– so I came along as well. Pulling up, I was floored. It’s in the ground level of a motel. Seriously?! How f’ing strange. DJDC was«spinning» the night we went, also, there was some cover band playing. I was confused as to how a place like this could even ask to charge a cover, oh, but they did! $ 5/person to walk in the door. Obscene. And seemingly unnessesary with the money they must make with hourly rates at the motel. When we walked through the door all heads whipped around– we moved slowly to the bar, following our guides, trying to not upset the natives. The sign on the door reminds you not to wear colors. Amazing, and also very funny considering all but one of the bouncers and most of the dudes hanging out by the pool tables looked like most of the dudes I’ve met in the Arian brotherhood. The music the band was playing was passable, I think out of a few hours of music I liked two songs they played. The fog machine was totally rediculous. Get rid of it guys. Who are you trying to be Cher? The DJ was also bad. The only way we found bits and pieces that we liked was when we had really started to drink. The one thing I like about this place: they have Newcastle. Unusual move for a dump like this. But totally cool by me. I think they have a VIP section– large tv, lazy-boys in a raised section by the door. Who is allowed up there, and or, why you would want to be a VIP here.

Some friends from work were coming here on a Friday night, and twisted my arm to go. I showed up a little after 10 pm expecting there to be a line because they were having a band play. But, not only was I able to find a parking spot right away, I was also able to go right inside. There was a $ 5 charge at the door, which was worth it. The band was decent. They played some 3 Doors Down, Nickleback, Bön Jovi, old school Metallica, and some other really great songs. You can check them out at
The prices for drinks were on par with other local spots, so no complaints there. The waitstaff was friendly. At one point a bartender and two waitresses were dancing on the bar, which made for some, shall we say, interesting entertainment. The décor was typical of a sports bar… flat-panel TVs everywhere, and 2 pool tables. The ladies room was small. Only 2 stalls… kinda silly if you ask me. I can only imagine how ridiculous that could be when they are super packed. The highlight of my evening was being asked to dance by a guy who was old enough to be my father. *sigh* Thankfully after he asked, he saw the ring on my finger and walked away. I’ll come back here to see Bad Andy play again. Hopefully I won’t have to open the next morning because I am hurting right now.
