They have amazing fresh haddock sandwiches. They are large sub rolls packed with large filets of haddock. The fish is not heavy in batter so you get more fish then anything. But when order make sure to say the«fresh haddock sub».

For the price, it is ok. I found an issue when my mother ordered prime rib medium rare, the server brought it out nearly raw. She acknowledged she knew it was under after my mother asked it be cooked more. The server returned with it and there were uneven colors of gray and pink on the top. It was still undercooked on the bottom, but that’s what happens when you put it in the microwave.

I love the clam chowder. Nice and thick. The clams are tender. I also love the Veal Parm sub. Real pounded veal with sauce that is delicious and tastes like homemade. And the fish sandwich & fish and chip are awesome and fresh!(I’m fussy about my fish) I ordered the brew fries. They taste like old fashioned. It’s a small place with old tyme décor. A small corner restaurant where the owner is really nice. He sometimes comes out and says hello and asks how the meal is.

This place was truly authentic with delicious homemade Italian food! I’m from Detroit and got lost on Unilocal directions and ended up here by accident. Great accident! Best New England clam chowder to start. Custom made Italian sausage, meatball and sauce with penne pasta. All served up personally by late Geno’s son Johnny Spezio. Great clean lounge and dining area, Boston area ambiance. Character that you can’t franchise!

I am really sad to see the bad reviews at Genos. I come into town monthly and Genos is my ‘go to’ spot. The bartenders are super nice and as some of the other reviewers said they hard pour! YAY! The food is good, plenty good for the price. I like the fried mushrooms and fried jalapenos. I have tried some of the pasta dishes and left feeling full and happy. The owners are super sweet and always give me a nice welcome back when I return. Give Genos a chance. If your looking for a quiet place during the week for some drinks and snacks, I would highly recommend it!

I live very close to Geno’s and I pop in from time to time. I generally go over to the bar, which is very small but the staff is friendly. The owners are almost always there and will come up and say hello. Drinks are good, and the food is decent. They usually have a guy playing guitar on Friday and Saturday nights, which is a nice touch. It tends to be a bit of an older crowd compared to The Catman Café or Casey O’Connor’s. I had a minor issue once with a bartender saying that I didn’t pay my tab from the visit before, even though I had the receipt at home. I mentioned it to John, the owner, and he said it was all set and I didn’t have to go home to get the receipt, which I thought was quite nice of him. I sometimes come over when I feel like have a few drinks to myself and maybe playing some Keno. Very friendly, «homey» type of feel.

Ordered a chicken parm sub take out from there and it was disgusting. chicken was rubbery and barely warm and bread was hard and was probably old. It’s typical bar food, but grosser. I wont be going back.

Clean but very dated bar and restaurant. You can get lucky with a special but most of the food is just OK. Can get a better chicken parm sub at most pizza places, good clam chowder. Drinks and beers are cheap, I have never seen so many plasitic booze bottles in one bar, their high end wiskey is JD. Good whiskey pour for the price

I can only comment on the bar section of Geno’s as I met some friends there for drinks and to listen to some music. It’s a tiny space, but they did have a live guitarist that night. The bar side has only a few tables and maybe ten seats at the bar and has a homey feel to it. The two bartenders were attentive and quite friendly ladies. I was surprised there was no pizza, but the menu features other traditional Italian specialties, although I opted for an Italian sub. It was tasty, but came with mayo on it, which I would have preferred not to have — but I did order it with everything(including hots). Geno’s is famous for their soups, and as our friend, the entertainer, introduced us to John, the owner, he refused to let us leave without some of his famous soup to go. Very un-«soup nazi» of him, eh? So, tonight, I will sample his chicken escarole soup, and I’m sure I’ll be going back to Geno’s to try more of his Italian offerings.

Outstanding N E clam chowder! Excellent food, very friendly service and value. My wife had a 10oz strip steak dinner, baked pot., aldente veggies and a salad for $ 11.95! My chicken parm with ziti was cooked just right and the sauce tasty. Add 4 glasses of decent house wine and a ice cream dessert and we spent just $ 56.00 including a 20% tip!

This place has some good eats! They usually have some good things on the special board like shepards pie, fish sandwiches, etc… The waitstaff is very friendly and attentive. Food is generally inexpensive, but it seems like it is getting more pricey lately.
