Okay so my friend and I went for a swim at the nearby reservoir and decided to Unilocal to see where we wanted to dine. I came across this name King Tut and think this should be interesting since the name is well let’s say so trite. However the food is anything but, this place serves the most delicious food. Let’s start with the warm pita served with sundried tomato spread, then I ordered a delicious Mango juice on ice. The friendly owner/chef would go from table to table explaining his specials and they were very special. He would then find the time to go prepare them for his patrons while his attentive and friendly servers would tend to the customers needs. I ordered the beet/arugula salad on the menu– roasted beets — deep purple– delicious. I then ordered the orange roughy fish special with sesame seeds and almonds in a light pomegranate sauce — absolutely delicious. My friend enjoyed the portobello salad on the menu and absolutely loved the red snapper special with a poppyseed breading in a cilantro and mint sauce. We finished the evening sharing a freshly made(that day) pistachio baklava served warm. I am telling you I am a «foodie» and an industry professional and I know great food. Even if it is an hour from my home I will return.

This is the ‘break in case of emergency’ lunch spot. Just a block from the office, I can get a quick, cheap($ 5), tasty meal. At first glance one might think that it’s a standard halal cart but one would be mistaken. While they have the requisite chicken, lamb, and falafel preparations. What sets them apart is the rice and nuclear hot sauce. I would compare their rice preparation to a spanish style yellow rice. Their hot sauce, which I’m convinced uses ghost peppers, will make you sweat, cry, and secrete bodily fluids in every which way. This is only for heat seekers or to be used sparingly!!! We inquired about the origins of this mysterious hot sauce expecting to hear that it comes from satan himself but sadly received a non-chalant«I order from India.» Like I freakin said… Ghost Peppers!!! My heat-seeking co-worker says that it’s the hottest thing he’s ever had. Besides the rice and the HEAT, all meats are good and I’ve liked the falafel before but I don’t order often. Worth a visit if you are in the area looking for a quick meal. J
