$ 10 a hem, plus the old guy is nice, fast, and old school. Can’t recommend enough. Doesn’t charge extra for same day service is he can do it.

I liked my first experience here. Brought in a suit for alterations and to my surprise, it was both, inexpensive and quick. However, to be a repeat customer, there needs to be repeat good experiences and this second and third time are not so great. Like most have pointed out, the owner’s demeanor is oblivious, dismissive, and it does seem like he’s weary of his job. It would be of great help if he could just be more communicative. Brought in two items and two separate days. He doesn’t tell you when it’ll be ready. You give him a day or two and come back only to find out it’s not ready, to «come back later». He doesn’t tell you what «later» is so you have to ask at what time and finally, you get a concrete answer. Other than that, no one beats his prices around here, and so far the cleaning, so good.

would give less than 1 star if i could!! – had a terrible experience here. brought a $ 140 pair of velour pants for a simple hem. i left them there for a while before picking up (months) – however i didn’t think that would be a problem. i got there with my receipt and the guy says he can find them. tells me its been too long of a time. i was outraged. like others have said, there is no value of the customer there… he was like robot – just kept repeating the same thing over and over. didn’t apologize or anything! very upsetting. please give some one else the business

Sam is the best! Sam has been doing alterations/​tailor for years and knows what he’s doing. He is definitely old school but there is nothing wrong with that. Also, you can’t beat the price.

I get my alterations done here, and the occasional cleaning. Alterations are usually good, but a couple times I’ve had to take them back for a redo. The owner/​operator doesn’t really have much of a sense of customer service, and always seems like he’s weary of his job, but he does a competent job on most alterations, and it’s quick and not expensive for midtown. I’ve had some cleaning done, and occasionally not been happy about the results, and he was not very helpful, as some of the other reviews here have already indicated. Kind of ambivalent about this place but keep finding myself going back.

If you need most of your CLOTHING ALTERED, you’ll look great and not go broke if you come to Artistic Cleaners. EXCELLENT reasonably-​priced source for alterations for loyal customers! Steve, the proprietor of the business, has done alterations for me for almost ten years. The four stars are for reliability in trying to get the perfect fit, an eye that over time gets the fit right with minimal pinning and marking, and for reasonable price and turnaround time. The one missing star is for the occasional job that takes more tries and stitches that sometimes show that probably would not at a shop that charges high prices.

DO NOT GO HERE EVER. I dropped off a shirt to be cleaned at this place and after several tries there was still stains everywhere. The owner has no sense of customer service. Most places would not only apologize, but would also give you a credit or refund of some sort. He did absolutely nothing except shrug his shoulders and say they couldn’t get the stains out. I dropped this shirt off in October, it is now December. Every time I would come in he would say he had to send the shirt back bc the stains would come out. I will NEVER EVER come back here and advise anyone else not to go here either.
