The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf

What can I say? The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf makes the BEST ICED tea blends of any of the chains (Starbucks, Peete’s). They usually provide 2 choices of black tea, which is amazing in itself and they are always delicious. And as anyone who loves iced will tell you, they also have the best ice. That’s right! The small, pellet style ice that keeps your tea nice and cold. This location is in one of my favorite parts of Manhattan Beach. There is plenty of free parking, plenty of seats inside, and the staff is very friendly. I just wish I was in town more often to go here. But for now, it’s my go-​to destination for tea in MB!

I love this place. The employees are great! I was having a busy morning and I clumsily dropped my beverage and they were understanding and helpful. :)

The cashier at Manhattan Village store #22 named Maria was terrible. She took our order wrong and when I went and told her she rolled her eyes on me and gave me attitude. I don’t care if she’s in a bad mood, I’m a paying customer I deserve better service than that. I told the Asian lady which their general manager she didn’t even do anything nor apologize. I will never ever come back to this location ever again.

Worst service by Maria B. I usually love Coffee Bean but never again. Will drive an extra 10 miles to find a Starbucks.

Great product but the Rewards program is pretty stingy. Of the $ 2.99 I spend on a small latte to go, only $ 2 goes into the program. So in order to hit the $ 40 reward mark, I will have to actually spend $ 59.80 to get a free drink or pastry. Wow, gee, thanks. Guess I won’t be ordering them to go but for there. Smart way to collect sales tax!

When I need a iced frap to get me through the work day, this Bean does the job.
Typical setup on the inside. This is on the outskirts of the Manhattan Beach mall, so parking is plentiful.
Bean drinks are pretty consistent from store to store, so no complaints in the taste department. This one isn’t too crowded in the middle of the afternoon. No wait at all.

I have been visiting this Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf since they opened 10+ years ago. I have actually had the first encounter with some influential people in life within the confines of this CBTL. Back in the days of when I still used to drink caffeine I used to come in here and order the Ultimate Mocha. The Ultimate Mocha was a blended drink that had crushed chocolate covered espresso beans, man of man was it good but I can only imagine the calorie count.
I really like the layout of this location. This CBTL is located in the parking lot of the Manhattan Beach Mall and situated right next to a See’s Candy, a bagel shop and several other businesses, restaurants and supermarkets.
Just like Starbucks this CBTL offers ‘free’ Wi-​Fi. I have recently started coming back to the CBTL simply because Starbucks has switched vendors and they no longer sell chamomile tea, the tea that replaced it is always ‘out of stock.’ Well I took actions into my own hands and have placed my ‘Gold’ card on hold with Starbucks and been visiting the CBTL since.
I walked in on the day of this review and order a ‘San OB’ which if you didn’t know already from my past reviews consists of a large chamomile tea with 2″ of steamed soy and the only sweetener added is fresh cinnamon, so good.
I have to say the barista got the order right on the money the first time around. I found this CBTL to be absolutely spotless, the crowd to be business professionals and no line. The seating inside and out it top notch, the view for people watching from this CBTL is prime real-​estate.
Until Starbucks fixes their supply problem I will be visiting this location, I might not even go back the only issue now will be finding the hidden CBTL now that I know where every Starbucks is located within 25 miles.

It’s hard to pinpoint just what it is that makesCoffee Bean #22 so special, but I think it has to be the great staff.
This is one of the oldest Coffee Bean locations, and it’s long been my favorite.

My co worker got me coffee today! It was the worst ice blended vanilla I’ve ever had… Sad Face!

What a surprise this Coffee Bean was! I’ve had the coffee before, yet not at this location. The product itself is very consistent (consistently good), the internet speed is fine, and the customer service is nice as well. There is plenty of patrons that are really cool when coming through here, and that may be due to the close proximity this venue is to the shopping areas that are 75 feet away.
If I had one complaint, its that the parking situation here is extremely limited. Don’t be surprised if you cannot find a parking space. No worries, just park in the shopping area lot and just walk over. Pretty cool venue, nonetheless.

Been to this location many times in the morning. I come here today at 5pm and 2 out of the 3 staff are so rude. These 2 employees i have never seen here before and they rung up my drink wrong and then were inconsistent with my order and had an attitude when i questioned them. I ordered light ice on both sweet teas and as u can see from the picture. One had almost no ice while the other was half ice. I am not one to complain so i took my drinks and left. The 2 star rating is for the evening service i received however morning service here is 5 stars and excellent.

I should have written this review long ago… but I digress. On with the details.
I come to this particular location at least once a month. It is a pleasant atmosphere every time I come. Not a loud place. Quite the contrary. It’s peaceful here. That is a plus.
Parking might be a problem during peak times, but never when I come here. I usually drop in around 7:00 p.m. Service with a smile means a lot to me and that’s what I get.
My order is always right. Lately I have been enjoying iced hazelnut lattes. I’ve also tried their peach tea.
This CBTL location is unique with its outdoor tables and ample inside space. It’s kept pretty clean throughout. Only downside is the bathrooms are not inside the store and around the corner between businesses. There is a bagel shop just around the corner if you are here during the daytime hours.
A fringe benefit is the CBTL rewards card program. It’s free and you can add points to earn free beverages. You already buy your food and beverage here, so why not? Give this CBTL location a chance. :)

I love this CBTL location. It has plenty of parking space and a bigger than average sitting area outside. Definitely enjoyed sitting out to enjoy the nice cool breeze today.
I ordered an iced Americano and upon going to the counter to put some milk in it, I was happy to see that everything was clean and in order.
Service was great, my Americano was made with the perfect amount of water.
Had to knock off one star because I wasn’t too happy with my brownie bite. Either way, I would definitely go back!

I love this CB because there’s always parking, and there’d better be because they’re right next to the Manhattan Village Mall. The line is never too long and even when it’s a few people deep, it still moves along quickly. You never wait for your drink too long and they always seem to make it just right. I like my Americano’s blended, with a single pump of sugar-​free syrup — why can’t Sbux ever seem to get the blended part right? CB never has this problem. I love this location!
Super happy that they finally started a rewards program too. Finally!

I go to Starbucks for coffee (coffee bean has sweeter coffee drinks in my opinion)
But Coffee Bean wipes the floor with Starbucks when it comes to tea.
The cherry blossom green tea is my favorite & they have a paradise are tropical iced tea that is delicious!
This location is my favorite local Coffee Bean. They employees at this location are so nice and helpful and I’ve never had to wait long… Whenever I’ve come and not been able to decide, they’re always willing to give me samples. That’s nice, especially for indecisive or new-​to-​Coffee-​Bean people!

Ok, my wife was at the cashier as everybody else, our complain is about service, is 5:42 pm and Maria was the person in charge to take our order, first she give us a welcome to the coffee shop, she never ask for the size in my wife’s drink also never say thank you as is normal in a service place, we are regulars here but this time we feel really bad about the service we use to have up here.
If you are planning to come try better in the morning.

It’s on N Sepulveda Blvd and 30^th St in Manhattan Beach.
It’s located in the parking lot nearby the entrance for the shopping mall «Manhattan Village». Across street from «Domino pizza». This place doesn’t have a nice big couch. All the wood chairs prevent you from staying there too long. They have only 2 single leather couches which are actually comfortable. There’re lots of tables outside. Bathroom is outside and you need to get the key by the register. Quick service.

Iced lemonade tea: Not bad but its taste was something everyone could imagine easily.
Jasmin tea: It’s pretty good. I prefer «Jasmin Milk tea» at Asian tea shops, but this was good.

This is the one to be at if you want to study outside and still have power outlets for your laptop. The only drawback is that I wish the patio got some sun in the afternoon
Inside seating is rather limited but normal for a CBTL. Arm chairs are limited, but I prefer tables since I’m usually on my laptop.
Wish they would post some no smoking signs on the patio and enforce them… then I would give 5 stars. Chain smokers can give you a headache after awhile.
Good coffee. Good food. Good customer service.
