Everything you’d want from a diner… friendly, fast service, hot, made to order, stick to your ribs kind of food with a small price tag. Not sure how long this place has been open, but their website states 25+ years & the building shows it’s age. Small parking lot, but it seems to accommodate the patrons each time I’ve visited. I’ve only ever stopped in for breakfast, though they do have lunch/dinner hours on Thursday & Friday. After stopping in a couple times now I could easily make this my go-to place for breakfast, if I am willing to splurge on the calories.

Friendly service, and cheap, awesome diner food. It’s a fantastic hole in the wall diner. You won’t be disappointed.

I could write a lot about this place. But I’ll keep it simple: breakfast like my mama made it. Ladies are stellar, take care of you. It’s got the small town feel. Great food. I could hang out in here a long time. My new favorite Saturday morning destination.

Perfectly delightful. Nothing to write home about, but exactly what you want in a greasy spoon. Also you get a lot of money for the price, and the staff is excellent

We moved to Manassas a few months ago and are so happy we now have a REAL diner to frequent. The portions are pretty generous. The biscuits with gravy were delicious, the pancakes fluffy and tasty, and the hash browns crispy on the outside and perfect on the inside. Our server was sweet and attentive. It was a great meal and we had enough leftovers to take home for later. We’ll definitely be back.

Friendly staff and service was prompt. Prices were reasonable. Food was ok. Had an omlete, which was good. The hashbrowns were not crispy and the side of creamed chipped beef was more like sausage gravy.

I am pretty laid back, and I like laid back places. Tom’s Diner fills the bill. It is a diner. Do not expect china plates and linen napkins-you will be disappointed. The food is good and made to order. My husband likes soft scrambled eggs. He was very happy that he was accommodated. I like eggs benedict, they a good job. I gave this place a #5 because it touts itself as a diner and fits the bill. I have always gotten breakfast here(served all day), but next time I am going to try lunch. I love the ambience of Tom’s. The only waitress I have seen during 3 visits is funny and reminds me of Flo from«Mel’s Diner». What a hoot! I never ran out of coffee, and the waitress asked me if I would like a to-go-cup. :) If you want a good meal at reasonable prices check this place out. You will not be disappointed.

This place is a true«greasy spoon» — the breakfasts are amazing, especially the biscuits and gravy. The staff is friendly and attentive and it’s the kind of place that will never leave you with an empty coffee cup.

CLOSED! Was meeting a friend for breakfast this morning. He picked Tom’s Diner to meet. I always wanted to try this place so I was looking forward to giving it a shot. We were meeting at 6:30 am. He checked their web site to make sure they were open. Yup, the web site says they open at 6:30. We both show up about 6:30. CLOSED! Not a car in the parking lot or a light on I the diner. What a disappointment! Didn’t even get to try the place . We went down the street to Ihop. Guess what? They were open.

Never disappointed when we eat here. This is a true diner, if you expect higher end dining or chain restaurant atmosphere, this is not the place for you. The food is cooked to order and they accommodate any request/substitution without hesitation. Again, if you do not like the authentic diner experience, this is not the place for you.

Just a good old fashioned diner with great food and pretty decent prices. We had the breakfast special and my wife wanted her eggs cooked omelette style. The cook was very obliged to adjust the order. Next time we are in Manassas and looking for a breakfast place, this will be the place!

Nothing to write home about. Average food. Pretty greasy, décor needs work. Staff was very friendly. Was not impressed with their creamed chipped beef.

Reviews led me to believe this hole-in-the-wall was worth trying so i did. I Kept it simple, got eggs and french toast with a glass of OJ. Hard enough to mess up except that they think its cute to drown the FT in cinnamon, maybe a child would have been amused but i was not. Eggs and OJ were fine i guess. When i asked for the check the waitress asks me if ill be paying cash or credit, then comes back and just SAYS to me $ 9.50, no actual check. Seemed a bit much but it wasnt worth the headache so i just paid and left. Still on the hunt for a decent diner in Manassas. Im losing hope.

Great for takeout. Love when someone brings me Tom’s food in a lurch. Hits the spot. Décor not the best but food is yummy. I don’t do grains so they can get it right.

There aren’t too many non-chain mom & pop restaurants around anymore. Tom’s diner is just that! Good home cooked food with a cozy family atmosphere. Breakfast is served all day and it’s the bomb! I always get the biscuits-n-gravy with eggs and country ham.

My fiancé and I love a great breakfast. We’re new to the area and googled«diners» for Manassas and came across this little hole in the wall. I do love little hole in the walls normally. Parking is very limited. We were the first ones in the restaurant and it was quiet(only 1 waitress and 1 cook was there and you could hear a pin drop). Waitress told us to sit anywhere. It’s a very small place with a small town atmosphere. So far, I was okay. It is a bit on the ran down side. The bushes could use trimmed out front, the parking lot could use a repaving and the inside of the diner looked like it could use a new floor put down, but otherwise I wasn’t complaining. Both my fiancé and I ordered the 2 eggs, 2 bacon, 2 sausage and 2 pancakes special for $ 6.99. He got a hash brown on the side and I got a biscuit for 0.80 cents and a side of sausage gravy for $ 2.95. We each got a large glass of orange juice which was quite small and room temperature. I got a refill on the oj which is not free My fiancé didn’t finish his orange juice because the cup was not clean and had crusty on the inside and a floater. Our total bill was $ 28 and some odd cents. We did leave full and the food was overall pretty good. The sausage was made perfect, the bacon was not quite as crispy as I liked; my fiancé thought the same of his hash browns. The eggs were okay. The pancakes were light and fluffy. With tip we spent over $ 30 for 2 breakfast’s which I don’t think was that much of a bargain; esp when you factor in the poor atmosphere. We likely won’t go back. With a little work, this might be a nice diner, but I wasn’t all that impressed.

Came here for breakfast over the weekend. Didn’t encounter any of the problems listed in some of the other reviews. Our waitress was a friendly young lady. She had a pleasant demeanor… attentive without being overbearing. Our food was delicious. I ordered the veggie omelette, my fiancé the biscuits and gravy. My omelette tasted much better than the veggie omelette at IHOP or Bob Evans. Fresher ingredients. The building was a little rough looking, but it’s a diner. I can appreciate the uniqueness when most restaurants are part of a chain, each building identical to the next. Look forward to returning here for breakfast again soon.

I like this place, but my fiancé loves this place. Here’s a point of reference for you Unilocalers– I’m not a huge fan of breakfast food or diners(unless they’re nyc diners), but once I’m in here, I become a fan. They have pretty good combinations and deals, a laid back atmosphere, scrapple, and no frills. They’re great about making sure you always have a nice, hot cup of coffee, too. Recommend if you’re looking for a no nonsense place to go eat.
