Sadly they are closing. It will be a Mexican restaurant and Tequila bar starting in January. It’s disappointing.

Lived in Manassas many years, only just recently decided to visit. The décor is quite nice and the service is outstanding. All the employees are friendly and helpful. Food is the kind of fancy, fru-fru expensive stuff you find in the upper middle class neighborhoods between Manassas and D.C. I had a very pricey steak that was ordered medium well but came out extra rare. That the place was completely empty and it took 30 minutes didnt impress me either. It was sitting in a puddle of icky sauce which only served to make it taste worse. They included 3 string beans as the«side» of seasonal veggies. Steak itself occasionally had a gritty texture when I bit into it, as if it had been dropped on the floor and rinsed off poorly. The mac & cheese was awful and had a consistently gritty texture, like they either used rocks for the cheese sauce, or accidentally dumped sand in it. The tortilla soup made me nauseous, but I’ve never had it before so its possible this is how all tortilla soup is supposed to taste. The bread and olive oil was so unpleasant I wont bother wasting time describing it. I also did not waste my time trying any dessert. No intentions to ever go back. Theres so many other nice places in Olde Towne Manassas. I overheard them saying they have Bad Wolf beer, but you can get that many places now so its not a big deal. My server Antonio was awesome and made me feel quite welcome and valued as a customer.

Overpriced for what you get. We ordered drinks, chicken sandwich, and a pasta dish. The chicken was of the same consistency of the microwaved type you see at Subway(no offense to Subway), pasta was basic(sun dried tomato sauce was good though), and the wine sour. In addition, the food came out almost immediately, which supports the microwave suspicion. Total bill came to around $ 70.

Back to back dining experiences, they’ve yet to disappoint. We’ve been coming her for nearly a year and We love it! The entire menu is superb. Definitely get the red sangria! A hidden gem in old town!

I have now been here 3 times. Each one was progressively worse. I have been in the industry(opening, training and managing for years). I have had TERRIBLE service here and tonight we came for a shot and beer to finish the night. We were poured a terrible shot of Sambvuca and when we asked about it, were put in many different categories. «I understand you get charged for something expensive» REALLY? Way to stereotype. Again I have done this my whole life, we tip REALLY well if we are treated kindly. Then to make it WAY worse, they spoke to our family about how we TREATED their place of business circumstantial. You stereo-typical IDIOTS… I will NEVERGOBACK! Ever

I went here on Sunday for breakfast. If it’s nice outside, I recommend sitting at an outdoor table. It was the perfect way to begin the morning — eating pancakes, eggs, time fries, toast, and bacon while listening to the birds and feeling the breeze. Make sure you get the home fries, they’re delicious! The food was good as well as the customer service. They also have a variety of meals on their menu to choose from. I noticed a couple brought their dog who accompanied them at their outdoor table. The waiter brought the dog water in a doggie bowl. That was nice!

This review has alot to do with the fact that its the fourth of July. They were offering a three course meal for $ 49 per person. Had the Cesar salad, flank steak, and berries.. the salad was average to bad… very small. the steak was good and the desert was also good. the issue was portions. .quite small for $ 49 pp. also they attempted to serve too many people at once… not enough severs… the server we had was very nice.

Where do I begin? The service, the location, the food? It’s all amazing. Two things you have to try, the burger and the apple delight. It’s all good, so whatever you order, you’ll be satisfied.

The tastiest thing on my plate was the ketchup. Even the toast was bad(burnt and bland w/cheap Kraft brand jam). Service was awful & slow as well. Go anywhere else!

Just had a great brunch meal with family today. I had the Greek omelet which was bursting with spinach and mushrooms. Many of my party ordered the Chesapeake eggs Benedict which was quite delicious, the eggs were cooked perfectly. The server was attentive and quick to respond, we were a party of 8 with a baby also. The food all came out together. There is about the same about of seating out as in but it was too hot to sit outside. I thoroughly enjoyed the experience and look forward to our next visit.

Had a wonderful lunch a couple of weeks ago. I ordered the classic reuben and my friend had the Swiss kyckling. Both were we presented and tasted great. Middle of the day in Manassas is quiet, and City Square was nearly empty. There were 3 other people in the restaurant when we were there which allowed our waiter to be almost totally focused on us. He kept the drinks full and made sure we were not left waiting. Robert, the owner, has retired from the kitchen, but the new chef is clearly his equal and Robert’s influence on the menu is still evident.

Unfortunately this poor rating is completely due to the awful waiter we had. The food was great, the ambiance was nice but this waiter was unbelievable! First, we sat for about 10 minutes before asking someone if they could take our order. He seemed like he wasn’t supposed to but did anyways. About four minutes later, this guy with sunglasses comes over and is like, hi, I’m your waiter, what did you order? I told him he was too late and someone else had taken our order and he literally says — oh, I got caught up on the phone which is why I’m late. Seriously? This was just the beginning of one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had a restaurant as far as the service goes. Just to give you an idea of how awful the rest of the night was — I tipped the busboy more than what I left the waiter because the busboy was basically was our relay to our waiter. I feel bad for the owner and chefs of this restaurant because this inept waiter is ruining their business.

City Square Café is a quaint little restaurant situated in the heart of Old Town Manassas. We came here for a nice meal on a Friday night. The food was decent and overall, we had an enjoyable experience. We ordered two seafood dishes to try — the Sun-Dried Tomato Salmon along with the Fish and Chips. The salmon was quite tasty, with an interesting sun-dried tomato cream sauce, skinny asparagus, and fingering potatoes. My only complaint for this dish is that the portion was a bit small. I would have liked a bit more salmon and potatoes because I was still a bit hungry after finishing my meal. The Fish and Chips were yummy and nicely fried. I love the house fries here. As Gina P. pointed out, the house fries here are more like potato coins, but I don’t mind because they are super crispy and you are served a heaping amount!

This review is for Sunday Brunch — We made reservations for a 9am brunch, which was unnecessary as there were only about 3 other tables. The crowd did pick up around 9:30 or 10 — the restaurant was understaffed at that point. Our server was in training, and so a few things slipped through the cracks — she didn’t ask what kind of toast we wanted, no butter on the table — but the coffee got refilled quite often. I ordered the shrimp and grits, and was disappointed. The grits were clearly just cooked in water, with 5 grilled shrimp on top. No matter how much butter, salt, and hot sauce I added, I just could not get any flavor our of those grits. My father ordered the 2×2×2, which included pancakes, eggs, and sausage, and was also a disappointment. Based on the name, you would expect two pancakes, two eggs, and two pieces of sausage, but it only came with 1 sausage and our server told us this was not mistake. That, coupled with the fact that the pancakes were undercooked, led to a disappointing experience. They did take this off of the check, which was appreciated. My husbands huevos rancheros were fantastic, and my mother’s corned beef skillet with potatoes and eggs was the winner of the bunch — delicious, housemade corned beef on top of crispy potatoes and green peppers and poached eggs. It was a real treat. It’s unusual to see such disparity between dishes at a brunch. I would come back for the corned beef skillet.

Not impressed at all. The location is next to the train station and it is kinda pretty. But the food and the service weren’t so pretty. We had a pancake dish and a steak n egg dish. Pancakes tasted like cardboard box. Yes i never had cardboard boxes but you get my point. And the service… ahhhh…can we get some service today? So yea. Nah… won’t come back again.

Stopped in for a quick coffee/drink. The coffee was delicious, the croissant was amazing and the tropicmosa is sooooo good! Goodbye mimosas, hello pineapple juice! We’ll definitely be back soon! Updated 10÷30÷15 — we stopped back in before a shoot for some quick apps. We split the salmon crustinis and a wedge salad. It was all phenomenal. Again. As we knew it would be. Service was superb. 5 stars still! We will be back! Thank you Jose.

After two years in Manassas went here for the first time with Liat, David & Lindsey. We had a nice brunch. The Eggs Benedict was just a little off because the muffin was a bit dry. Our waiter was new so the service could have been a bit better. All of the outside tables were filled which was OK because it was a bit windy on this early Spring Sunday. I like the way they do the tea service. They bring a box with different teas you select. They then refill your small hot water pitcher. They serve authentic Manassas Tap water in a bottle, a nice touch.

Went here for a late breakfast the Saturday before st Patricks day. It wasn’t that busy but we waited a bit to long for a server to come by, she got our drink orders and came back ~ 5 minutes later with our waters and coffee. Our other drinks took another 10 minutes or so. Really not busy, why the wait? When we ordered I very specifically asked for certain items to come out as quickly as possible. This was completely ignored and everything came out together.(Thanks I hadnt asked for it because I wanted it that way or anything) The potatoes were surprisingly good and the food wasn’t bad although the side order prices seem a bit steep. Our waitress was somewhat attentive over the course of the meal but really having already messed up the order was not doing the best, the kicker was when she tried to spray the table with windex next to us, and not thinking about it being a windy day, ended up misting our entire table/us/food with a healthy amount of cleaner. It had to have hit her a bit but instead of saying anything she continued on. I was quite upset at this however, one of the more calm people at the table pointed out to her and she merely said«oh I am sorry«, nothing else, no offer to bring fresh food, nothing. so an 80 $ meal wasted because they cant figure out how to hire waitresses with even basic intelligence. Well its Manassas so what did I expect.

Had a very nice Valentines dinner last evening with my husband. Very nice lighting and ambiance! The food was good, just not great to get that 5th star. Had the calamari ap, tasty but over cooked so it was heading towards rubbery(didn’t help that they cut them to LOOK like rubber bands!). My husband tried the Chivito Completo. It is a traditional Uruguay dish. He said his steak was very flavorful and well cooked. It came with French fries on the side, however, they were more like potato coins? Round slices. Not cooked well, and greasy, with no crunch. I want to point out a highlight for me. I am extremely allergic to garlic, and asked our waitress, Linda, to help me figure out which dish I could safely eat. I was super impressed that she took my menu right to the chef and inquired what I could safely eat! This happens very, very rarely when I eat in restaurants. Wait staff usually guesses and tells me there is not garlic, and an hour later I am sick! Ggrrrrrrr. Any ways, the chef recommended the Filet Mignon dish and he special made a peppercorn sauce that was garlic free! THAT is top notch service!!!
