If I could rate a «0» I would. Dr. Petitt is a one man show, she runs another business(The Man Cave in Manassas, VA). She has no receptionist on site, no office manager, she is spread too thin and is not capable of providing comprehensive, ongoing care. She is more interested in your money than your health. Don’t be fooled by her! After extensive research and seeing many other doctors prior to Dr. Petitt I was so grateful to find her. Yes, she did a very comprehensive blood panel and spent an hour going over the results. Her initial health plan for me began working right away but I was aware that it would need«tweaking» along the way. She does not work with insurance but she does provide a Super Bill for you to submit on your own. Instead she asks for a $ 1000 «retainer» to be on the plan.(At this time I was not made aware that it would be an annual retainer.) After the 1st3 months I made a follow up appointment to review my progress. When I explained a few of my concerns with her she replied with«Well, you Are feeling better, right? It must be working then» I agreed but felt that I needed to possibly adjust some dosages. Her response was to bite one of the pills in half. She said she didn’t need to see me again for 6 months. At 6 months I went to see her and expressed some of the same concerns about dosages and difficulty with my weight. She proceeded to ask me if I noticed anything different about her? And how she had lost 18lbs and how good she looked and how she offers a weight loss product etc… She spent more time talking about herself than finding out about me. To order your prescriptions, you go through her system online and over the year she changed providers and there were lots of gliches to deal with. Which is fine I can deal with that, the problem came when I would email her for help and she would simply«cut and paste» the directions she had previously sent. When I would reply that I had followed those and as still having issues she would ignore my questions or send a 1 line, curt reply that did not answer the question. At times her responses were downright defensive. I called to speak to her and the receptionist would tell me «she was in with a patient» every time and then I would finally get an emailed response with the directions copied again but never a call returned.(I later found out that she uses an offsite answering system who are instructed to tell callers that she is with an answering service) My thyroid medication is covered by my insurance($ 5/mo) and can be ordered through a regular pharmacy(which I found out after 6mos of paying $ 28/mo through her mail system). So I contacted her to call it in to the pharmacy to save some money.(In all my medications were running approx $ 120/mo out of pocket in ADDITION to her retainer fees) I emailed Dr. Petitt to ask for her to call in the refill to the pharmacy and I kindly provided the pharmacy name(Walgreens) and phone # for her convenience. It literally took 10 emails, 7 days, several trips and calls to the pharmacy to finally get my prescription ordered. She sent me an email with an attached copy of the fax she sent to the pharmacy and stated for me to «tell those jokers that she faxed this several times for me». When I looked at the attachment, she was sending it to CVS!!! My pharmacy is WALGREEN“S! Who’s the joker now? She never apologized for her error she simply made the excuse that that Walgreens was not in her system. I was flabergasted at how utterly unprofessional she had behaved! At this point I knew I needed to find a new doctor. During that process I was due for my yearly blood work and she had sent me the order for it so I went ahead and had the blood drawn while I looked for other options. When my retainer expired, Dr. Petitt became enraged that I was not willing to pay her $ 1000 until we could sit down together and review my concerns and my treatment plan. She told me that she is not like a regular doctor and there are very few people that do what she does and that she«has rent to pay». She refused to make an appointment with me until I paid her $ 1000! Well, after all the issues the past year with her, I am not going to pay her any more money until we can establish what exactly I am getting for that money. Meanwhile, my lab results came back and she absolutely refused to release them to me. When I signed a release for her to send them to another doctor she told them she would only fax it over at a cost of .28/sheet. I contacted her to charge my cc but she did not do it, I requested the medical PIN number from her 5TIMES so I could access my test results direct from Quest– no response, I requested the lab results via email, no response. An entire month had gone by at this point! Bottom line– find someone else that does what she does(they exist) because she is a drain on your time and money!

Dr. Patricia Petitt changed my life — — - if you’ve been from doctor to doctor and they say things to you like«your blood test results all look like they’re within the normal range» and you STILL feel awful(no energy, difficulty maintaining or losing weight, just existing instead of living your life)… you need to have a visit with Dr. P and have her analyze your test results. She prescribes all natural medications/supplements(Bio-HRT, Vitamin D, Fish Oil, Armour Thyroid, etc) and continues to monitor you as you approach your new and improved self… You can make appointments via the website — — - and there is LOTS of information there.
