Mega Sub

I’ve decided to edit my original review of Mega Sub and upgrade the star rating rather than write a new review. The wife and I have gotten delivery from them twice now, and I have a feeling that they are going to be our new go to spot for non-​pizza delivery. Being fairly new entry to the Manassas delivery/​take out scene, I’ve been eyeing them ever since they advertised a future opening last year. I’m a notorious sub slut, so when you call yourself «Mega Sub» you’ve got my business … and high expectations. And they have lived up to them.
On our first go-​around with Mega Sub, we started by trying to place an order through their online ordering system. The website crashed on us however, so we just called in. We received prompt and courteous service and placed our sub orders. I went with a roast beef sub with extra meat and cheese. My wife went with a chicken parm on whole wheat, and we ordered a side of fries to split. We were told the order would take about 45 minutes, and it took just about that for it to be delivered. That’s a tad on the long side, I thought, but they delivered in said window as promised.
The «mega» of Mega Sub is the size of their subs. The small subs are right around the size of the one size 8″ sub places. The large are larger than your foot longs — right around 14″. My roast beef sub was pretty good, but it was missing one component to really set it off — hot peppers, which they advertised having on the website but didn’t have. (They had jalapenos, but they aren’t the same IMO) My wife thought her chicken parm was OK, but a bit on the dry side. I tasted it and concurred — it needed both more sauce and cheese. The fries were fine — a step above the standard frozen crinkles that you get at many places.
We decided this was good enough for a second round. We didn’t bother with the website this time (except for the menu — two deliveries and I still don’t have a menu from them.) I ordered a mushroom steak and cheese and it was really good — a nice meat to cheese to toppings ratio. It was by no means a Philly Cheesesteak, but rather a nice «Washingtonian» steak and cheese with lettuce, tomato, and mayo. My wife ordered a burger with mushrooms and bacon and she said it was fantastic. She also got their fries again — they are pretty darn good for delivery.
A Deli is still the «gold standard» for Italian cold cut subs in Manassas, and if I want a cold cut sub delivered — or a chicken parm — I’d go with Joe’s. But Mega Sub is my option for a steak and cheese or quality burger.

Stopped in for lunch around 1p on a Friday, the place was empty.
I had the Gyro combo, comes with fries and a beverage for $ 8 & change.
It was OK, the fries were less than average.
I did like that they have the Peak sweet tea dispenser.
The staff is nice and helpful and the place is clean.
They have a nice big HD TV tuned to CNN, gotta like that!
By the time I left, it was half full.
Parking might be a challenge.

Mega Sub just opened near my house. I’m a sub fan so anytime I have a new place to try out, I get excited.
It was 6pm Sunday night and I wanted to swing by and pick up a sub — I called, no answer. I waited a few minutes, called again — no answer. I tried calling about 5 times within a 10 minute time frame, nothing.
I hopped in the car and off I went. I was afraid they weren’t going to be open, nobody answering the phone, makes sense right. They were open. The young lady behind the counter was sitting at one of the high top tables chatting with two people eating. (Obviously friends or family.)
She took my order and told me it would be about 5 minutes. Fifteen minutes later she handed me my food, after it had sat for a few minutes on the counter, but hey, she was chatting with her friends.
There was not a minute sense of urgency here at all, the service was polite but the customer does not come first.
Anyhow, on to the food… I ordered a chipotle steak and cheese. If there was supposed to be anything chipotle based on that sub, you could have fooled me. The sub itself was actually pretty decent. Lots of meat and veggies, the bread was a little thick but that is to be expected in a Virginia Steak and Cheese.
I think if I am going to order a Sub, I am going to order for Joes.
There is a pretty extensive menu here, pastas and gyros and such. I would like to give them another shot and see how the other food measures up.
I think I’ll place a delivery order next… if they answer the phone that is.

Halal, delicious cheesesteaks delivered by friendly workers and in an area that was previously a drought of good food. I’ve had 5 or 6 different sandwiches here and everything has been on point!

Stopped by over the weekend with a crave for an artery cloggin steak and cheese sub.
The interior is basic and small but the sub was really great! It was a sub of cheesy, drippy, meaty goodness. I got the smaller size which runs around $ 5-​$ 6. The sub was a good 7 – 8 inch sub and I hear the large sub is a 14 incher for about $ 7-​$ 8.
My group also got the wings. I think ten wings was around $ 8-​$ 9 and they were really fairly sized.
I did see a sign that said Monday special is a medium sub combo that comes with fries and soda runs less than 6 bux.
If you don’t mind being a few hours closer to a heart attack, come here for a fairly priced sub!

Awesome steak and cheese sub!!! OMG the small was HUGE!!! Delicious! Wings and twice baked potatoes were a little over cooked for my taste. We’ll be back!

Great Subs, they were cheap and huge, and tasty. The wings are cheap and good, the burger was a bit dry and spicy, the weakest part of our meal!

Great subs, and really big. If you get the large it is like 14 inches. Very cheap as well.
