My boyfriend and I came here last Saturday afternoon around 3pm or so. It was busy and seemed to have a fun atmosphere. However, the wine is average in comparison to Napa, Santa Ynez and Provence. If you live in LA, it’s convenient and who doesn’t like Malibu. The service was also pretty average. I went wine tasting the weekend before in Santa Barbara and the people pouring were extremely attentive. I felt the difference. It was just too busy for them to give enough time to people to explain the wine more. It was a weekend too!

Everything it claims to be. Simple. Clean. Relaxed. Better than par wine tasting. Educated staff. Yummy cheese and crackers for purchase. Ocean breezes. Food truck Sunday’s. Killer live band. I’m preferential to the cab, but their rousanne is crisp and refreshing. Come for the wine, stay for the chill atmosphere.

I really liked this place the location is so beautiful right across from the beach in Malibu. The people are very nice and friendly. We did a wine tasting of 2 white wines and 2 reds. My favorite was the rose & the Cabernet. They have an outside area set up with patio chairs and tables and you can even bring your own food. They had live music indoors as well as outdoors and a food truck on site for those who wanted something to munch on. I would really love to come back here and spend more time in Malibu.

LOVETHISPLACE! They take really good care of their guests and really make you feel welcome. My wife and I love packing a good picnic and buying a couple bottles of wine and just relaxing. some of the guests are very hospitable as well, but some guests can be a bit snooty. Either way we have always enjoyed our visits here. BRING A JACKETJUSTINCASE… it does get windy/cold from time to time seeing as the beach is across the street. I highly encourage anyone to come check this place out either for a date or a friends/family gathering. last but not least– all of their wines are phenomenal! I’m a somm myself(not boasting) so I know a great wine when I taste one!!!

I have been here so many times before and loved it, but I was very disappointed yesterday. I had to pay 6 dollars to park. My glass of wine was 14 dollars plus tax and tip, and it was the smallest pour I have ever had for a «glass» of wine, about 5 sips. No thanks! Addendum to the below response: I paid for one full glass of wine, not a tasting! And the $ 14.00 glass of wine was like a 1 oz pour.

Didn’t realize that I had been here once before for a tasting and took a picture on the giant chair! Came back here for a friend’s birthday on a Sunday afternoon. We got there a little after 11 to grab a table. Found parking on the street which is nice cause it cost $ 6 in their lot. Got a few bottles of rose and red wine for the table, so we weren’t really«wine tasting» just«wine drinking.» We brought our own snacks but there were food trucks in their parking lot selling food. There was also a band playing which is cool. Overall a cool place — wine is okay, but there more for atmosphere.

I came here yesterday for a girlfriends birthday celebration. This place is stunning! Scenic views of the Malibu coastline are unbeatable. Parking is a nightmare so taking an über or taxi is your best option. Since we had a reservation for a larger group they automatically added a 20% tip to any of the wine we ordered. I had a bit of a hard time with this since we had to leave our table to even order wine. We did not have a host or server. I tip 20% anyways but we had to wait in a line inside the tasting room just to order a bottle. We ordered around 12 bottles of the sparking rosè. It’s so delicious!!! I’ll be back just for that wine alone. I loved the atmosphere of this place. There was a DJ playing 90’s and 80’s hits which our group was loving! So many people were dancing which was awesome to watch. I’ve seen a few bad reviews on their bathrooms which I don’t understand. They are so nice and clean.

This is a cute winery to grab some bottles, a meat plate, cheese, and crackers and chill in the backyard area when it’s warm. When we went last Saturday there was a live band and a Mexican food truck, which were welcome additions. There isn’t much décor in the back area, but it does the trick.

An affordable wine tasting spot exists in Malibu? Yes it does! I came here for a birthday and was blown away not only by the quality of the wine but also by the prices. They offer $ 13 flights for 4 glasses of wine and the bartenders frequently hooked us up with 5 since we were there for an event. The only minimum was to get a bottle per 2 people who showed up with your group. Most of the bar is outside and you can see the beach across the street. They have live music playing and on some nights there’s even comedy. Service was amazing and on top of hosting a very large party. We made the birthday a potluck and everyone brought something(I don’t think they serve food). The have a fire pit if anyone does get cold. I highly recommend Rosenthal Wine Bar & Patio! It’s a great spot to hang out with friends or bring clients.

Oh. My. God. I almost ran into the highway to escape. The stench of entitlement and the ruckus from people screaming at the basketball game turned an otherwise classy, pretty place to taste wine into a pretentious dive bar. The service was great and the wines were fine so it’s a pity that loud, inconsiderate clientele ruined the experience for everyone else.

Such an amazing hidden gem! I went here for a bachelorette and was really surprised to see a tasting room + a gorgeous back area with romantic lights and live music. It reminds me of a more casual, easy to get to Malibu wines. Service was incredibly friendly, there was lots of seating and a big variety of wine. I wouldn’t say this was the best wine I’ve had but it was fun to share bottles with friends on a lazy Sunday. Out of all the wine I tried I would recommend the two boldest reds they had.

I came here with a group for my birthday this past year. We got a great table and the music and wine were very enjoyable. It’s great for groups and a great way to spend a day outside sipping wine without going an hour outside of the city into the mountains. The only downfall was we were told we were allowed a maximum of 2 people per bottle of wine.(They made it seem like everyone would have to be Paying a minimum) It deterred a few people from coming who were designated drivers or not drinkers. Once we got there, this rule was not enforced and we were able to get as many or as little bottles as we wanted. It was a great time! I just wish all my friends were able to come and not be scared away from a silly fake rule

Been to this winery a few times now and it is absolutely adorable! They have great wines too — both red and white. You are able to buy a bottle there, take it to their outdoor patio, and enjoy the wine there. They always have a food truck and live music over the weekend for you to sip and enjoy. Wines are all reasonable and they have a flight as well. If this is your first time at Rosenthal, I highly recommend you try the flight to see all the different kinds they have. They have a delicious Pinot Grigio which is really crisp, refreshing, yet dry. It is perfect to enjoy on a hot summer day! However, Rosenthal is extremely small. It does get packed! Thankfully they have seats inside, a bar area, and patio area as well. Parking isn’t difficult to find — they offer both a lot next to the winery and street parking.

I really like the vibe this place has! Live music, low key atmosphere despite the general inherent«uppity-ness» of wine bars, bring your own food/picnic or order from food trucks, and a view of the ocean in malibu! It’s easy to see how this place can get crowded quickly… lots of larger parties outside. All in all, it was just what I was looking for. A few annoying down sides though: there’s sort of a «parking attendant» who really does absolutely nothing except wave for u to park at a specific spot(which is ridiculous… haha I have eyes sir and i can see that that spot is clearly the only place to park haha I don’t need your help). And then you have to pay him $ 5 to park??? It’s not even valet??? Incredibly pointless… and then the wines are REALLY expensive. I mean just by the glass alone, some of them are like $ 20 per glass? Just seems a little pretentious and excessive but yet again, it IS malibu… Haha but I guess they’re smart cause despite the financial annoyances, I still would go again for a special occasion. ;)

After finding this place on Groupon, we decided to give it a try. Our voucher was $ 14 for wine tasting for two people. Not a bad deal! We arrived on a Wednesday around 2pm and there were only about 3 other parties there and 1 person working the wine bar. Don’t miss out on the larger than life wine table outside, which makes a great photo opp if you hop onto the chairs! The groupon came with 4 preset wine tastings– 2 white and 2 red. You have the option to sit indoors or out, although you must go to the bar to receive alcohol. On the weekdays, there is no food truck present, so I highly recommend bringing your own snacks or picnic food, as there are not many other options nearby. To be honest, the wine itself is ok. It is grown and made locally, which is nice. However, they were all on the bitter side and we chose not to purchase more. What really attracted me to the place and will bring me back is the venue itself. The tables outside have umbrellas and are spaced far enough apart to ensure everyone’s comfort. Great place to enjoy a beautiful day, or catch up with a friend. There’s a free parking lot outside the wine bar and the ocean right across the street– doesn’t get much better than this!

I loved this place. Jess had been here last year and couldn’t wait to introduce me. It has great wine and a beautiful yard in the back to sit and sip and enjoy the ocean air. We tried a flight and then ended up having a couple of bottles, because why the heck not we were on vacation. The gentlemen who poured for us were knowledgeable and pleasant and made sure we enjoyed ourselves. The only thing that would have made this better would be if it was on the beach instead of across the street from it. Next time we come to LA we’ll be here for sure. Cheers!

We had a Groupon for a wine tasting here at Rosenthal and stopped in after a morning at the Getty Villa and lunch next door at Reel Inn. Their outdoor patio/lounge area is pretty relaxing and nice. I’d be lying if I said I was impressed with any of the four wines(two white, two red) we tried. The last red, a Rosenthal Merlot was better than the previous three but I had no desire to purchase a bottle of anything. A friend had asked me if these were Kosher wines, they are not or if they are this info was not stated or relayed to us.

Awesome, chill hang out spot!!! Wine, a group of great friends, live music right across the PCH from the beach… what more do you need? This is such a relaxing place to enjoy a few bottles with your friends on a nice sunny day. You have the option to do a tasting flight, order by the glass or just order a couple of bottles and sit outside their backyard patio! You’re allowed to bring unlimited outside food and non-alcoholic beverages only. How amazing is that? Right outside, I did notice a food truck option but why resort to that when you can bring better eats of your liking when they allow you to do so? So, definitely take advantage of that. As for wine options, prices(non-club members) are reasonable ranging from $ 32 -$ 46. I tried their bottle of Merlot and Hang Ten Red. The Merlot was the best option of the two; however, I don’t really think their selections of wine were all that great. What made the place enjoyable was the ambience, the company of your friends and live music. The wine was just mediocre and I’ve had better before but who cares right? Once it’s in your system, it tastes all the same eventually. They could use a little more greenery to brighten up the place because the grass outside looked dry but I can’t blame them, we are in a drought! =( Suggestions: Wear sunscreen, bring your stunna shades, water and FOOD(of course, duh!) At the end of the patio, there’s two cornhole bean bag toss game to play with which is nice and fun when you start to get your buzz on! Surprisingly, the mobile porter potties were SUPERCLEAN. There are 3 toilet stalls/stations with 2 sinks. It doesn’t smell at all inside, whew!

Stopped by here on a Wednesday afternoon with a party of 4. We had dinner reservations later, but decided to give this place a try for some pre-dinner cocktails. Located: on the East side of PCH, so you can see the ocean. Parking: Dirt lot right next to place. It was free on a Wednesday evening. When we stepped in, we were immediately greeted by friendly servers. Our group opted to do a wine flight(41oz pours for $ 13). The wine flight included a sample of their Sauvignon Blanc, Viognier, Red Blend, Merlot. I thought the Sauvignon Blanc was the best of the 4, but several in our party liked the Merlot so we bought a bottle of each. The wine is significantly cheaper if you are a member, which requires quarterly visits & purchases of 2 bottles of wine. We stepped outside to a quiet patio. It was Very peaceful and relaxing to sit, drink & chit chat over our wine. The bathrooms are port-o-pottys or the nicer trailer type ones, which a couple in our party were unhappy about. I can see this place being a lot of fun on the weekends with a lot of people or live music, so I could see myself upping my rating if I tried it out on a weekend. Overall, friendly servers, peaceful space, but average wine.
