I love this spot! Been here many times over the past 4 years. The beer is always cold and appetizer specials after work is worth the price! I will post pics shortly. My cousin had her bday party here during the holiday break. we were so impressed with amount of food we got for about 40 people and didnt have to pay to use their space on Saturday night was priceless! Thanks Hugh O’ Neill’s we love you You never let us down not matter what time of day!

Just tried to go there after a long day of work and they told me I was too drunk,(I haven’t drank today) sorry I don’t just stand in front of a bar for a living checking ids. I simply want to give them my money and drink a couple of beers, check yourself Hughes because all seasons is far better and it’s just across the street

Great local bar! Cozy atmosphere, reasonably priced drinks. Unfortunately they are unable to make an espresso martini which happens to be my «go to» but other than that I have no complaints. Regular pub food — all decent. Staff is always attentive!

I have been coming here for a few years now, but have been so impressed with all the recent changes they made. The menu is much improved and my new favorite item is the salmon cakes for dinner. But if you love great craft beer, this is where they are really excelling! The choices are endless and change all the time, and they seem to have a special beer event every couple of weeks now. Definitely a much more enjoyable atmosphere on weekends nights too now that there are no DJ’s. But the beer selection alone keeps me coming back for more!

Love, love, love this place! I’ve been coming here since it opened and it is my go to spot in Malden. The Guinness beef stew and shepherds pie are my favorites for lunch and dinner. And the brunch menu is on point. Also I love to visit on St. Patrick’s Day to enjoy a delicious corned beef dinner while listening to a live band playing Irish music.

It is a nice Irish bar however I expect cold beer. Been there several times and have never found the beer cold. My wife who is not a big beer drinker stated it is the only place that she goes where she puts ice in a bud light.

Love this place. I’ve visited to watch the MNF /TNF(Patriots) as well as many times with my young family. Very comfortable and welcoming for the kids — great beer selection and higher quality /tasty food than you would expect(salads /burgers). Definitely a unique menu for sandwiches etc and always freshly made. Wait staff has always taken extremely good care of us — I would recommend this for a nice relaxing«easy» family night out that will leave everyone happy and satisfied. Glad to have it nearby.

I hadn’t visited Hugh O’Neill’s in awhile but I had a craving for their homemade french fries so I went in last week with my friend. I was very impressed with the customers. Instead of a young crowd that used to fill the restaurant, there was a room filled of middle aged and older people. I approached the bar and the bartender, Ashley, came over and asked us what we would like to drink with a very nice smile. I asked her if they still had the fries and proceeded to order not only those, but the chicken tenders, which were homemade and literally«out of this world.» I will definitely return real soon. I was also informed by the staff that on Saturday nights, they have Irish night and there is entertainment. Kudos to all.

This place has undergone a complete transformation. My wife’s sister was talking about Hugh O’Neill’s once, and she told me stories about how she used to go there in the evening to have a great time, not for the food. Kinda cheap looking, etc. The first time my wife and I came in, they had just had the bar completely redone. Then in the next week, they had painted all the ceilings, added lots of craft beer and done a 180 on the menu. Not sure what happened, but if you used to go here, try again, this place is not what it was. I love listening to Irish folk music on Saturday nights! Breakfast is awesome too. I’ve watched the English Premier League here as well on Sunday morning.

Tried the grilled cheese, it was ok. Service was great though. Good bar for after work. Nice beer selection. Hope to return on a Tuesday for trivia.

It is a pub and the food and drinks reflect that. With that said the chicken curry and Shepards pie are my favorite and go to along with the Reuben. The Irish breakfast in the morning is very good to. The whiskey selection is very good as well as the beers they have on draft and are usually rotating them at a good rate to keep it fresh.

Awesome appetizer deals before 7 pm! You pay about $ 3 per app and you get huge portions, all freshly made. I’d recommend the chicken fingers, which are breaded in-house, the calamari and the chili nachos. Also delicious soups and burgers.

I love this place. I’m a long time regular who always sits at the bar. It’s rare to find a pub that does pub food so perfectly. Every sandwich and wrap is on point, the fish and chips are solid, and the buffalo wings are bomb. I could easily house twenty of them by myself. The weekend brunch menu is delicious, varied, and available nice and late into the afternoon. All the bartenders are cool and accommodating, and all have an invested knowledge of their diverse and constantly rotating craft brew selection. As far as I’m concerned, this is the best bar in Malden.

My friend Jeff runs a killer acoustic open mic here on Wednesday nights where I occasionally play some guitar. That’s how I discovered this local pub. Comfort food and great beer on tap! Love the Guinness Beef Stew. Gimmee a BIG bowl please! Monster Burgers, Thai Steak Tips, Coconut Shrimp, BBQ Pork Pizza to name a few other dishes I’ve been known to scoff down with a cold brew! Come down on a Wednesday night and hang with all the super cool musicians! That’s how I became a «regular» there!

Reliable, dependable, always comfortable… Hugh O’Neills. Nothing that great, yet nothing terrible. Drinks are good, food is decent… you know what you’re getting. Their weekend brunches are pretty good, and my girlfriend absolutely loves their bacon bloody mary’s. Place hasn’t changed in awhile, and it’s usually not dead, yet not packed either. Good, l dependable watering hole in the heart of Malden that will continue to cater to the type of crowd that is no frills about getting a quick drink/meal with no hassle.

This is your classic Irish Pub. You shall not be disappointed with the food. The crowd here is definitely older and wiser than your normal younger crowd so expect to see things outside of the generation of 1990-milleniums that you just won’t get. Come here if you live in Malden and crave some good pub food and drinks.
