Dockside

Without a doubt the absolute worst service I have ever received. A friend ordered a coffee and an ice water before we ordered lunch. Never got the ice water and the coffee came over a half an hour later and asking three more times. My drink was supposed to be on the rocks but came out in a small glass and no ice. So when I asked for rocks she brings a glass of ice and pours it right there and spilling it all over the table. Think she cleaned it up, Nope! All in all it took over two hours for a party of five to have two drinks and lunch in a half empty restaurant. The best part is when we left there is the waitress on her phone firing down a cigarette. My advice is to avoid this place at all costs!

Typical bar food, average prices, ok food, however the fries and onion rings are really good. Service a tad on the slow side, took about 10 minutes for the waitress to come over and ask what we wanted to drink, then took another 10 minutes to get drinks. Probably would not go back.

This place is horrible! Im going to start of by saying there was a mouse in the middle of an isle! Then i got a drink i didnt like and asked the bartender if he could make me a different one and then told me he was going to charge me for both drinks because he still made the drink. I just ended up drinking the nasty thing after he was arguing with me. Last i went to go play pool and they needed to hold our licenses to ay pool!!! Mind you the pool sticks were beat up and not even usable! I will never be going there again! Tony C’s is way better for a sports bar!

I’ve always sat at the bar every time we dine at this location. I haven’t encountered any issues overall. The bartenders are usually friendly and attentive. I usually have that one picky person in my group and they’ve accommodated well.
Food is of average bar food. The other night we ordered wings, potato skins, and steak tips accompanied with baked potato and rice pilaf. The wings were decent. The potato skins weren’t bad either. Although when I went to bite mine, the cheese fell right off. So sad! Also get the steak tips plain! They taste much better without the sauce. They usually over do with the sauce.
Drinks are okay. We typically order two or three rounds, and the first one is almost always stronger. The prices aren’t too bad either. We had 4 Hennessy with Coke and 2 grey goose with cranberry for about $ 50. Not too bad!
The parking kind of sucks. This location is in a plaza and if you go anytime besides evening or late night, it’s tough to find a spot.

Very average. Food was mediocre. Service was fine. Relatively inexpensive. I won’t be coming back.

We had a going away party here last night. It was awful. We preordered food which was ok. However 2 members of our group were vegetarians and they order something separately. Two hours and a couple reminders the food never came. When it was finally reordered it was too late. One of us asked for a menu and some water… Never came… Drinks took for ever so we stated going to the bar ourselves. Waitress complained about it. Waitress also complained about us to her boss right on the dining floor where all could see. Not good. Things were slow all night there, meaning there was no excuse for the lousy service. At the end we asked for a picture be taken. The manager was asked and she stated,“No, I’m managing.“SERIOUSLY!That’s no way to deal with your customers. She could have declined nicely and asked someone else to help or take a second out of her «managing» and take the picture. She wasn’t managing too hard as she was standing around. Our waitress eventually took it but could not figure it out or hold camera still. She should not have got the 18% tip or the extra since the cash was not exact change. I hope with that money she gets herself a Christmas gift of customer service skills and shares with her manager and restaurant. We won’t return. The reason we went there in the first place was to use the function room but it was too cold and too bright.

If I could, I would post no stars. Took about 20 minutes just to order a beer. Atmosphere was creepy… Avoid at all costs.

Best Buffalo Chicken Pizza around. Great food, great value

As the person who has the most checkins here, (I am the duke) I have been meaning to update my review for some time now. I haven’t been here to eat or drink in a long time and if you keep reading you will understand why. It takes a lot for the closest restaurant to my house (used to be my hangout bar) to make me not want to come back. Sports bar or no, this place has taken a real dive and you don’t have to be a foodie or an industry person to see that.
First, Dockside has a loyalty program where once you spend $ 100 you can get $ 10 comped off your next bill. It was a great incentive to keep coming back, that is until they changed it so that you have to spend $ 150 to get 10, and then you’ll have 5 points you can’t use until the next cycle. Yeah, No thanks! The fact that you have to buy the dockside loyalty card for $ 5 makes this especially aggravating. Bait and switch.
Second, Mice. (Should have been first.) I have on several occasions seen mice running around the bar during the day. This is unacceptable. Period. If you don’t believe me, feel free to sit at the bar and see for yourself.
Third, Service. The last time I came to the dockside I was on a blind date and decided to sit at a booth instead of a bar. When they were closing the bar area we were rushed out. «Excuse me, we are closing the dining area now you will have to leave.» Couldn’t have let us finish and have the person who cleans the bar clear off the table? That would have been too hard I guess. The waitresses at the bar can be nice (depending on their mood) but they have a tendency to be MIA whenever you need something. Service Service Service. There was also an incident in the past where a patron was threatened by another patron. I saw as the waitress (Italian woman, long dark hair) did nothing to manage the situation and continued serving the customer who was threatening the other. This is outlined in one of my previous reviews and is 100% UNACCEPTABLE and I was so disappointed in the total lack of professionalism and initiative to protect the customers. After this incident, I don’t really feel comfortable or safe coming here.
Fourth, The food. The best thing on the menu IMO is either the Ruben or grilled cheese. Everything here tastes like frozen run of the mill bar food and while I must say their fries are excellent, The burgers taste frozen, the pizza is bland and I’ve never been wowed by any of their food. For the price they charge the food should be of MUCH higher quality.
I’m sorry Lisa (The owner) but every time I return to the dockside to give it another chance there is inevitably something waiting to aggravate and disappoint me. You once commented that you were open to hearing suggestions on how you could improve.
Get rid of the mice, Stop playing games with the loyalty program, improve the food and train your staff better. Train them to NEVER keep serving an unruly and dangerous patron. Don’t kick someone out of the dining area in the middle of a meal. Read your recent reviews. They aren’t pretty and if you notice even the people who seem to like your establishment won’t give it more than 3 stars.
I have spent so much money here, I feel like continuing to spend it would be such a waste when there are great restaurants everywhere in this area.

This place sucks. Period. As I am sitting here in this «fine» establishment writing this review I am contemplating if I should’ve gone to a gas station and gotten a candy bar instead… I ordered the half rack of ribs and my wife ordered teriyaki steak tips with onion rings. My ribs were tough, needed a knife to cut through the gristle and had cheap bbq sauce slathered on as an afterthought. My wife’s steak tips were tough and the teriyaki was like soup… Her onion rings were in the sauce, so nice and soggy! Our awesome server brought out our dishes and then brought out our appetizer after our food was on the table… Any way never going back.

Not bad, weird TV screens at every table for Keno, not the classiest environment. Wide selection of food but maybe not the highest quality.

You know what grinds my gears, when a party comes in and the waitress forgets you. So yes, service not so great. This is why I’m so discouraged on going here.

good food good service, awesome drinks, they show the UFC ppv events as well. only negative about this place is location… park in their lot… lock your doors… that may not be enough my car was broken into twice here but it isnt their fault… it’s scummy malden. Other than that… awesome place. Try the nachos.

Walked in to a half empty bar. Waited patiently to order a drink… Walked out. The guy sitting next to me looked kinda shocked at how the bartender isn’t see me. Not in the mood so I left. Guess there’s a reason mostly locals come here. I could see on a Friday or Saturday night when it’s slammed but not tonight.

Had dinner at the bar last week and wasn’t really impressed. The only redeeming quality was the super yummy fried pickles. My burger was bland and not very impressive.
Go for the games on TV and the fried pickles and get dinner elsewhere. :)

Their food is always good, never disappoint for a good time. Has televisions, arcade games, full bar, keno & the service is above average. Very nice people.

If I could give this place 0 stars I would. Worst service I’ve ever experienced. I wasn’t even acknowledged by my waitress or offered something to drink for 20 minutes. My soda was flat. Another 25 go by & finally heres my food I asked my waitress for a water bc my soda was flat. «Your soda was FLAT??» woth an «are you kidding me» look on her face. Never going back worst service ever

Yukky, average at best. Similar menu to Applebee’s. The only reason I came back after the first time is that it was the only restaurant open on holidays near my house. There is a pool table but you will be playing pool around other people’s wandering children. Haven’t been back since we saw a very brave mouse running between the tables.

Meh… that about sums it up.
A friend and I went in for a few beers, apps, and an entrée. Everything was average/​normal from the beer list to the menu selections. The bartenders/​servers were nice, but you can tell even they want more from the employer. The cocktail menu was terrible… very unimaginative and boring offerings.
My advice is this: Malden is changing. The clientele coming in want more selections, and different/​exciting new menu choices. If your demographic is going to continuously be the 50 and over crowd, don’t change a thing. If you want to attract younger patrons, add some local brews, and mix up the menu selections. Everyone will end up benefiting.

I really wanted to like this place, but its clear that they are fairly busy now, to the point that they no longer care and are just running it into the ground.
It was a 10 minute wait for a table which is fine & expected at places on weekends. Once we were seated, we literally waited over 15 minutes to even be acknowledged, This is without an exaggeration because the five Keno games I played right before we were seated were all were displayed (3 minutes in-​between each game). When I went to go run my keno slip again I asked if they would send someone over because we were very patient waiting, to which they sent someone over who came over telling us they were they were out back making salads and that was why we were left waiting.
When I say they no longer care, it is for the fact that no one was even apologetic really about our 15 minute wait to be acknowledged, or the fact that they have a personal TV in the booth we were sat at that literally was all snow on the screen no matter what channel you put it on or what you did. The waitress told us a lot of the tvs there you have to shake a little bit to try to get it «a little clearer» which didn’t help.
We ordered the Steak Tips which were very tasty & a good marinade, but were very very chewy like rubber, which I assume is because they are not using a quality flap meat for them. Also due to the lack of pretty much any flavored vodkas one of us ordered the Dockside Mojito, which was terrible, it tasted worse then a cough medicine, we both tried a small sip and that was it. (the waitress even bringing the check seeing the completely full drink didn’t inquire if it was ok even).
This place has potential, they do offer some decent beer specials but someone needs to come help them get there act together. Its clear because they are pretty busy on the regular they let everything slide, like the service, tvs, food quality, cleanness of the place etc. Also its kind of cheesy to have placemats full of advertisements, and some tvs showing trivia saying «ask a manager or email to have your ad here!»
We won’t be back
