Stopped in last Friday with my son. Pizza was good(ordered the NY style). Only complaint is why is a pizzeria like McDonalds where you walk up and order. They wouldn’t set up a tab so had to go back for each beer/wine. Awkward. Salad was fresh, overall would recommend and go back. Learn how to set up a tab and it would be better. Also a very junior staff — reminds me of a place run by high schooler’s.

Stopped in for a late lunch today and ordered the Guido. It was delicious. Business was slow but I got my pizza quickly. I can’t wait to try more of the menu.

This is one of my favorite places in Madison. The food is always consistently great. Great atmosphere as well. Great place for pizza, beer and a game.

Excellent food and the only reason it’s not 5 stars is that the staff wasn’t cheerfully helpful. They were nice but seemed sleepy, very low key for a pizza place & bar. Also, nobody told us we could pay ahead for our gelato bowls and fill them after eating our pizza so we waited ages in line a second time to pay therefore tying up a table an extra 15 minutes. It’s a neat place though but when busy, tables are crumby and need better bussing. Overall, we enjoyed it enough to come back, now that we get how it works.

I LOVE their pizza, but the employees are another issue. I used to work in downtown Huntsville so I would frequent that location and still do when I’m in the area, but I won’t return to the Madison location because of the rude employees we encountered on more than 1 occasion at this location. I don’t care how good the food is, if I am treated like I am bothering the employees I won’t go back.

The pizza is excellent here and the selection of beers on tap, especially local microbrews, is fantastic. Great experience with reasonable prices. Will definitely be going here again.

Quite frankly Sam & Greg’s is the best local pizza there is. Great gelato and atmoshpere. It is a must if you enjoy pizza.

Very disappointed. Pizzas are pricey and poor quality. Nothing compared to a real Italian pizza. No service …

The beer selection is great. The gelato is fantastic. I love the atmosphere. The pizza, however, is not the best. I have tried several different pizzas and both the regular and whole wheat crusts. I think the problem is the crust. Also, the is a lot of variability is the food you get. For example, I have had the Key West several times. Half the time it is dry and the other half it is like soup. There are other things on the menu and maybe the pizza will improve. There are just a few places to eat in Madison along Hughes so I have eaten there mainly for convenience of it location and the gelato.

My husband and and I met some friends whee for pizza on a Saturday night around 7:00. It wasn’t too busy at all. We basically walked right up and ordered. The staff was very friendly, and our pizza came out fairly quickly. We order a large stuffed pizza and some cheesy bread knots. It came to about $ 30 with two cokes. The pizza was SUPER yummy! It was basically like a large calzone with sauce. When I’ve ordered stuffed pizzas at other restaurants, they have always been stuffed and had more toppings on top of the second layer of crust. That wasn’t the case here. This pizza just had another crust on top. It was still great pizza, though! I will pass on the bread knots next time. They weren’t that great, and the cheese was only on a couple of them instead of being evenly distributed. I would definitely eat here again!

I’ve only been here twice and I would definitely go back more. I’ve only tried the deluxe pizza and I love it. All of the ingredients taste fresh. I love the gelatos but I wished there were just a few more flavors to choose from. The menu is interesting and seems to have many options for all patrons. There are a good bit of local beers to choose from as well. The atmosphere is nice, kind of a New Orleans feel to it. The second time I went there was a guitarist playing which wasn’t bad.

Decent pizza but over priced. Nice atmosphere for a pizza restaurant. Service a little on the slow side but everything taste fresh and of good quality.

Stopped by last night to grab a pie, a pint and talk shop with a new business partner for a few… hours. On draft are a number of names you know as a local but the list seems to be a bit constrained by local liquor laws perhaps. As I blurted out a handful of names not on the chalkboard, the nice lady reminded me that they can’t go higher than seven and a half(abv). Hmm… oh well, monkeynaut it is then. I’ve been to this location before for takeout and it’s been OK. The gelato is actually pretty good here and holds up on the ride home… Except maybe summer. But that’s enough about gelato … now the real question is about the pizza. I order the 8in meatlovers because… I hadn’t been to the gym this week. I liked it. Simple, savory… some and a little hint of spicy. I honestly can’t say that it’s spectacular, but it’s nothing to dog out either. But it’s somewhere in the expansive«middle» range of my pizza experiences. It’s sort of like Mafioza’s in Nashville… get acclaim from its fans but might not be up to the hype if you’re not part of that crowd. All things considered, I kinda like this location. I’m partial to downtown but… this’ll do as long as they keep the pints coming.

Of all the pizzas we’ve tried, this is hands down the best in town… thin & crispy crust, great topping selection & the beer selection is outstanding. Is it pricey? Maybe a little, but we always enjoy the food, the bartenders, the ambiance & the yummy gelato for dessert! Like anything in life, you get what you pay for… want cheap, order Dominos :-)

Tried out Sam & Greg’s while visiting a couple of buddies in the area this past weekend. Great little place with tremendous atmosphere and pretty delicious food. I took a chance on one of their medium-sized strombolis(which is essentially a stromboli apparently caught in nuclear fallout judging by how ridiculously large it is compared to the small) and it was fantastic. It looked to have been prepared in a wood-fired oven, and it was done so amazingly — the crust was crispy but not overcooked, and all of the toppings were piping hot and flavorful. Overall, my lunch tasted fresh and delicious — absolutely no complaints there! The only thing I’m not that crazy about is the pricing scheme though. For my stromboli I got a total of 6 toppings — 3 average(mozzarella, pepperoni & green peppers) and 3 «premium»(bacon, tomato & spinach).(I’m not sure why the three premiums I chose are considered«premium» when you can get them pretty much anywhere and in any season, but whatevs — everybody’s gotta have a niche I suppose…) For those toppings on a medium stromboli, and a drink, my bill came to 30 bucks. No seriously, *30* dollars. Since our lunch is pretty much only once-a-year, during the holidays, I just overlooked the price and enjoyed the moderately expensive meal; but the cost is definitely more than I think it’s worth for what was ordered. If the«premium» toppings were something along the lines of calamari, truffles, pork belly, prosciutto, goat cheese, etc., I might be able to swallow those prices, but for bacon… tomato? Nah, sorry… Despite the ridiculous toppings charges though, I can seen myself trying Sam & Greg’s out once more at least — like I mentioned, the food was still pretty great. But I’ll definitely be more selective regarding what I order so that I don’t come out of there with a bill as high as a full meal at a steakhouse.

The first time my boyfriend and I tried Sam & Greg’s, we ate there two nights in a row. The pizza was probably the best pizza we’ve ever had and their gelato was delicious. A few complaints we had about the restaurant was that when we were given plates, they were dirty(both nights) and they had to go through several plates to find one that was clean. Also, the price for a beer is pretty high, it’s not worth it to me to spend that much on a drink. But other than that the food is fantastic.

Sam & Greg’s Pizza is pretty good ! I have been there twice. I got the Pesto Margarita Pizza the first time and tried the Buffalo Chicken Pizza the second. To me the Pesto Pizza didn’t have as much pesto sauce/flavor as I’m use to with other pesto pizzas from other places but it was ok. It wasn’t the best I have ever tried. However I really enjoyed the Buffalo Chicken Pizza. If your craving pizza Sam & Greg’s is a good stop. The atmosphere is also nice. Definitely screams a cute pizza date night spot or good for kids or just a simply family pizza outing. Also, it is a little on the pricey side for pizza. We got 112 inch Deluxe Pizza add Ham, 116 inch Buffalo Chicken Pizza, and 1 Werner Von Brat minus Cheese with all waters to drink(5 people) and the total including a $ 10 tip was $ 62 and some change. We also purchased their Gelato and for a medium cup and a 16 oz. Strawberry Milkshake it was $ 9 and some change. I must say their Gelato is good but I still prefer ice cream over Gelato. Gelato is a little to soft for me. I like ice cream’s firm texture(when it’s been in the freezer for awhile and you pull it right out and serve immediately; Gelato is just naturally softer)

They are doing it right! I ordered a small meat lovers and was amazed at the amount of meat on this pie. The food came out hot and was delicious. The atmosphere is very nice and sports multiple seating selections e.g. indoors/outdoors etc… The staff was friendly yet a bit quirky in a good way. Pricing was a little on the high side but the quality of the pie(e.g. amount of toppings) was worth it. Wine by the glass I feel was over the top for this type of establishment. Good selection of beers. Just my thoughts. The interior design was nice, airy and original. We look forward to returning in the fall and eating in the upstairs balcony. As far as cleanliness goes the place was spotless.

The wife and I split a Philly Cheesesteak sandwich, about 8 pm on a Friday night. I had a decaf Cappuccino. These were very good. The servers were very friendly, but the kitchen seemed a bit slow. My Sprint 3G reception was poor. Maybe the customers will ask them to put in a WiFi server.

We ordered the Garden pizza, and I can honestly say it was the best pizza I have had in Alabama. It wasn’t heavy or greasy, and the toppings were very fresh, which is important on a veggie pizza. The place was huge with lots of beers on draft to choose from. We sat upstairs and ate near the ledge so we could people watch. After we were done our meal, I needed to fill my second stomach made for dessert. I ordered the birthday cake gelato and the server scraped most of the sprinkles on top and added them to my cup, much to my sheer delight. And they were the long sprinkles, not the crappy round kind that break your teeth. I will for sure be back, this place definitely tops all the other pizza places I’ve been to in Alabama. *Bonus: They have sriracha sauce. Those of the hot sauce brother and sister hood know what I’m talking about.
