Awesome food and a great salad bar! It really is the best salad bar in town. I love the decoration and the wine wall is very cool as well.

I give the food and atmosphere 5 stars but the prices are too high for the area — at least for the locals. They do a half-price on everything from 5 to 6 which is a great deal. My recommendation is to cut down on the portions and reduce the prices. No one needs more than 5oz for a filet or other cut of beef, and then they could offer entrees for $ 20. Great drink list, salad bar, etc. I put this place at the top of the list along with Mr. Darcy’s, Sam’s, and Downton Grocery(which is also pricey).

We went there for the first time and had a very delicious steak. My medium rare filet was cooked perfectly and the mashed potatoes were excellent as well. The mac and cheese and brussel sprouts are also very tasty sides that Id recommend.

Completely mediocre food and service. If you are dying for big pieces of steak and don’t care about quality, you may enjoy. Nothing was bad here but nothing was remarkably good either. No better than average steak… expected A LOT more at their price point. Cannot imagine who their repeat customers will be.

We have been twice The first was absolutely excellent, for which I would have given a 5 rating BUT, this time, the mussels had gone bad and Never should have come out of the kitchen. After I sent them back the chef took them completely off the menu. My Ossa Buca was good, but my wife’s lamb chops, ordered medium were medium rare at best. Oysters and shrimp cocktail were both very good Nice wine list, better than most. So average of the two experiences is a 3 to a 4, unless I get hit with Montizuma’s revenge

Excellent! What a difference Mark has made with the restaurant. Friendly and extremely professional staff. Ambiance is awesome, extremely elegant. Definitely the best high end restaurant in Ludlow. Jason the bartender is extremely attentive. The only negative is they recently took the burger off the menu. It wasn’t inexpensive but was TOTALLY worth it! The entire family enjoyed them and we would make a special trip just for the burgers. Please reconsider adding them back to the menu. Definitely the choice restaurant in Ludlow for us.

Terrible! $ 100 for two meals and two sides. The kids pizza was clearly a frozen pizza for $ 10 and we got a rice pilaf for my daughter and they charged us $ 10 for a side! The filet mignon was over seasoned and came with four potatoes. We complained about the experience and all the waiter said was I don’t set the prices. I never complain on Unilocal, but that was awful.

Rude waiter, average food. We were a family of five on a Friday evening. Our waiter(older man, short hair, brush cut) thought he was being funny and sophisticated, but was actually quite pushy, rude and condescending. The atmosphere and food presentation were nice, but the salmon was extremely fishy. Overall, overpriced and disappointing. It is too bad, because it has great possibility.

On a Vermont scale, this place is probably a 4 star place. On a broad scale, I need to give it a three. I’m not usually one to comment on service but they were friendly and warm but inordinately slow. The waitress also tried to serve me a different bottle from what I ordered, I recognized it before she opened it which saved her some money but it was still a bit disconcerting. The steak was good. I think most people enjoyed their meals. I would return but plan for a long evening.

We were pleasantly surprised by the Chophouse. We arrived on a Saturday night after a fun, but ice filled day on the slopes. I highly recommend getting the steak frites, even though my brother-in-law thinks the ribeye is better. The steak frites was absolute perfection, and the parmesan fries are so delicious. My husband seemed happy with his lobster mac and cheese. No one offered to share their plates. It was that kind of silent meal. Our French waiter was wonderful. He was so nice and helpful. If you are looking for something better than your average apres ski meal, look no further than the Chophouse!

A wonderful meal. Our waitress was extremely attentive, and delivered our drinks and meals at exactly the right time. Complimentary popovers were nice. My wife had a stuffed shrimp special that was very good. The risotto cakes were special. I had a filet mignon cooked to perfection, and seasoned well. Nice grilled taste on the outside. Truffle mashers were spot on. For Ludlow, VT, this is a most welcome addition. A bit on the pricey side. $ 150 with tip for 2 appetizers, 2 dinners and 3 drinks(no dessert). However, I have spent a great deal on dinners in Ludlow that yielded nothing close to tonight. Well-done!

Open on Thanksgiving! So I had a wonderful buffet with chicken, turkey, salmon, prime rib, all the fixings and desserts. The food was very well prepared, even for a large buffet. Great flavors and spices. I ate a lot and loved all of it. Everyone was really friendly and happy, which is great considering they are working on a holiday and I showed up near closing. I’ll definitely be back since I saw they have king crab on the menu!

Good $ 12 lunches that refuel and fill you up. Initially, my boyfriend and I were put-off about the limited menu. We were both in the mood for some steak. However, we warmed up to the offerings. I had the prime rib beef stew topped with mashed potatoes and he had the chicken and biscuits(which was basically a chicken stew with biscuits on top). While mine was filling, it felt like something was missing. Maybe a salad or warm rolls to go with it. Still, it was tasty.

Had dinner here and it was a mixed bag. 1. Caesar salad was terrible. Can any restaurant in Vermont make a true Caesar Salad? creamy dressing with no lemon, garlic or authentic flavors. 2. swordfish wrapped in eggplant was a winner. 3. fish stew had a good amount of fish but the both fell flat 4. waitress was energetic and on the ball. We will return to try the chops and steak next time we go to Ludlow.

The Chophouse is what Sam’s should be. It is a steak and seafood restaurant for the under 65 set. It has a contemporary seafood and steak menu, an imaginative cocktail menu and a good wine list. We can recommend the steak au poivre, steak frites, mac and cheese, Brussels sprouts, calamari, and much more. The service was very attentive once we made it past a disorganized and MIA maitre’ d.

Great steaks and ribs. Sat us right away and service was excellent. The creamed spinach was good too. Sadly no baked potatoes but everything else was good.

Fantastic! So happy for the owner and his Chef. Well deserved. Steak cooked to perfection, served beautifully on a cutting board with lots of different trimmings… The reviews I’ve seen don’t measure up to the delicious meal my party of 3 had. I’m a certified Chef and thought the atmosphere, menu variety, quantity/quality of food, price points and presentation were spot on. Bravo, it’s about time an upscale restaurant in Ludlow provides a price point that matches the categories described. Way better service, management and quality then the Downtown Grocery or others in the area… Great job Mark! Much success to you!

Tried this place over the weekend and was happy we did. Sat in the bar area so we could watch the woman’s world cup game with the kids. Service was great and very attentive. The manger(owner?) stopped by several times to make sure we were happy. The warm cornbread and pop-over rolls were tasty while we were reading the menu. I ordered the filet mignon and my wife ordered the swordfish. Entrees come with a family style house salad that was very good. Not overly dressed and fresh. We devoured it. I ordered my steak medium but the center was very rare. The filet was tasty as were the mashed potatoes that came with it. My wife was pleased with her dish. The kids ordered the pizza and chicken fingers. One kid said the pizza was not good and the other gave the thumbs up to the chicken. We also ordered a side dish of mac & cheese that was very tasty. I would ordered that again. Good selection of local beer on tap and a decent wine list. My only complaint was the undercooked steak even though I didn’t speak up about it when I should have. Entrees seem a bit pricey but they do include a side and huge family-style salad. We will return.

Another good Okemo restaurant, only open a few weeks but the meal and staff were really wonderful. The steak was much better than the sole but all was good.
