I love ‘em but they are closed as of Late August, with a notice from the state on the doors!

Nestled among a spring of zesty businesses perfect for all sorts of fun and intrigue in Lubbock. For example, i candle-making class and baby clothing store await your curiosity. Manna, I assume, could be a perfect spot on any day to grab a snack out convenience; however it’s lunch menu definitely does not warrant a full trip across town. The menu — short and sweet, boasts lunch staples, like Caesar salad, club sandwich, and others. The menu, unfortunately, did boast the largest portions: in size and flavor for that matter. Assuming my chicken salad would be a mound of fresh pieces of chicken mixed with dressing, fruit, nuts, and the like — it was presented in the most interesting way smushed between two large burnt hamburger buns that I believe overshadowed the salad. My buddy ordered the Caesar salad, which essentially was a small chefs salad, but was ensured to still be delicious. It seems the best time to enjoy their very lovely staff, alluring smells and ambiance is dinner time or even happy hour, that is more conducive for a larger appetite. I would love to enjoy Manna’s food and staff, but perhaps in the evening hours.

So I’ve been here twice for Sunday brunch. Usually get the brunch burger with a portobello mushroom instead of beef patty. The good: Nice ambiance, good servers(although sometimes they’re a little excessive in asking if everything is ok), nicely flavored food(except for the exception seen below) - Could improve: The jalapeño hashbrowns are good but it looks like they give you about 1.5−2 cups worth on your plate, more would be nice. Depending on the size of the mushroom, my portobello burger has been too bready, maybe consider a thinner type of bun? The Brie Mac and cheese I had just tasted like cream and noodles and had a soupy consistency so I would pass on it. - Overall, it’s a good restaurant that cares about its customers. I would go back and would go back more often if I knew that the sides were a little more generous and that they were more careful about culinary things like ratio of bun-size to patty(might sound nit picky, but it’s not the cheapest food in town!)

In a cool little shopping plaza called the Cactus Alley, is the dark, candle-lit ambience, perfect for a date spot called Manna Bread and Wine. Start of with warm, house made artisean bread & olive oil for dipping, and order one of their many wines. The service was very prompt and attentive. I enjoyed the Manna Peppers for the appetizer, which were roasted jalapeño halves stuffed with bacon & brie queso, and cajun shrimp. $ 9 For dinner it was The Copper River Salmon with red pepper aoli and cocunt rice. $ 19 Delicious!

I’m giving them an added star for ambiance, but the service was more in line with three stars or less, and the food wasn’t as good as you might expect given the prices. It took forever for one of us(me) to get a glass of wine(server forgot it), then the food was a mixed bag when it finally did arrive. The yellowfin was a bit overcooked(it should be practically raw) and apparently the dill flounder was awash with dill(nothing else could be tasted) and the«flounder» looked very much like tilapia and nothing like flounder. The server blamed the chef for adding bleu cheese to a dish for someone who’d requested it be left off, but either way, not good. This is a cool restaurant in a nifty spot(cool wine/whiskey bar and coffee shop nearby in the same renovated old hotel) but they need to up their game. The chicken fried chicken looked amazing, wish I’d ordered that. The crepes were very good. Wine selection is pretty good, though. It’s worth noting perhaps that despite the name, the bread is impossible to cut and kind of mediocre, though the oil dip is good.

The food was great and service was excellent. They let us have our dog outside on their shady covered patio

3rd time eating brunch here and I’ve always had a good experience. They let us bring our dog and sit outside which is nice. Cactus Alley is a nice looking place to enjoy the view. Food: the bowl of pastries and 3 kinds of spreads are very tasty. Especially the lemon poppy seed. Fruit plate is plated nicely and fresh. It’s a large starter for 2 people. Chorizo egg burrito was very delicious the first time but just ok the second time. Also is giant so be prepared. French toast is thick and fluffy and great. Chicken and Waffles are solid. Drinks: overall very good. During our visits we have had the Bluegrass Whiskey sampler, The Mule, St. Germain Cocktail, La Paloma, and Tall Dark And Stormy. Besides the La Paloma I really enjoyed each one. Probably the best craft cocktail bar i’ve been to in Lubbock. Much better execution than Crafthouse and similar. Service: all visits I’ve sat outside and received 3 to 4 star service. Sometimes it seems they forget about us outside for 25 minutes and other times very prompt and attentive. Our waiters have always been pleasant. Cost: being from dfw area the prices are about the same as an equivalent non-buffet brunch there. Probably looks costly to locals, but it’s worth it to me.

Customer service was wonderful. Smell of wine kinda over whelming. But what can you expect its in the title of the place. Lol but more importantly the food was amazing. I had the mana burger and only added cheese it was very well cooked and juicy. Also the best part for me was the sweet potatoes fries, a lot of people tend to get these right, only thing I would add is cinnamon on top not garlic lol but that’s just me. Also they had this really good salsa it was a strawberry one had a sweet/hot taste I loved it as well. The queso was really good too ha I tend to be picky especially if the things on the menu don’t sound appealing lol but thanks I loved the atmosphere and the food!

Pretty good food. I was impressed with how good it was. My wife and I got the chicken salad sandwich with mixes sweet potato and regular fries. And it was really good. The only reason I did not give this 5 stars is because they took quite a while to get our food out, but we did get our appetizer free because of how long it took. Overall I thought it was very good.

One of my favorite places to go. The staff is always so nice and helpful. Start with the brie queso, share the portabella salad with someone, and then get the yellow fin fandego. When you’re there for brunch it’s awesome that you also get pastries and fresh fruit with all the entrees.

Had the Turkey Torta, a new item from their recently revised menu. A $ 13 dollar sandwich. –Slimy cold cuts of turkey –3 basil leaves –2 tiny end pieces of a tomato –Side of aioli & chips I hate subway and I think they make a better sandwich than that. Probably will end up changing our valentines reservations, because if they can’t handle making a decent turkey sandwich, I can’t imagine the disaster of a 5 course meal will be.

My wife and I had a rare chance to get out alone for an hour so we decided to try out Manna. I had heard good things about it and I was very eager to try it out. The first impressions were mixed. Nice mellow atmosphere. The music(90’s rock) didn’t quite fit the mood of the rest of the restaurant. I did become frustrated with out wait time as there were 3 – 4 open tables. The hostess was busy running around doing everything but hosting. We waited 15 minutes before being seated. The menu was interesting. A wide range of items that I would have liked to try. Unfortunately when we spoke to the waiter we were told the were out of several food items which meant ¼th the menu was unavailable. We did not get to look at the drink menu either as we were never given one. My wife and I decided to not worry about asking for one based off how things were going. The waiter brought us some bread with a interesting olive oil dip. The dip had a sweet taste to it and was pleasing. We had ordered the Shrimp mango avocado nachos for an appetizer. It was okay but nothing to remember. It seemed to have been sitting out for a while before we got it because the cheese had already started to harden and it was no longer warm. This was a recurring problem with the food unfortunately. For dinner I ordered the elk and pork tenderloin with a blueberry sauce. I was really excited to try this dish. The flavors were nice and I really like the blueberry sauce. I was extremely disappointed with how the dish was brought out because once again it was cold. The mashed potatoes underneath the pork and elk was completely cold. The meat itself was also cool as was the blueberry sauce. It would’ve been nice if they’d at least put the dish in a warmer first before bringing it out. My wife ordered the yellowtail tuna dish and she seemed pretty satisfied with it… Overall I went to manna with the hope that it would be a great dinning experience. While there seems to be a lot of promise to the place, it seems to lack in execution. The entire experience could’ve better with a few minor changes. The waitstaff was pleasant and I have no complaints with them however the food itself left a lot to be desired. I most likely will not be revisiting this restaurant anytime in the near future. It may be a terrific place to eat but my experience indicated otherwise.

Tried out Manna last night and enjoyed it thoroughly. It’s located in Cactus Alley off the Brownfield Hwy. The restaurant was very well decorated, with white table cloths and candles. They seem to have a great wine selection in addition to liquor and beer, though we didn’t drink on this visit. The service excellent. The complimentary rosemary bread with olive oil/red wine vinegar/garlic dipping sauce was spectacular. We had green chile stuffed crab cakes as an appetizer and they were delicious. My wife had the Bandido Chicken with green chile cream sauce and I had pork tenderloin stuffed with pecan and elk with a cherry/mustard sauce. Both dishes came with a side of mashed potatoes and were fantastic. I also had a cup of tortilla soup which was ok, but not as good as everything else on the menu. The menu is very unique for Lubbock but is a bit pricier than expected, but I will probably be back. Manna would be a great place for special occasions or to take out of town guests.

Manna Bread and Wine truly amazed me when I first went in, it is so unique and different than everything else in lubbock! The enclosure of cactus alley and all the beautiful vines make you feel like you’re not in Lubbock anymore. My mother and I were sat and greeted very quickly but then service was a little bit on the slow side. We waited about 10 minutes for our first mimosas, and then quite some more time before our waitress came back. She was closing out a very large table who all had multiple checks so I completely understand but you would think someone else could of just got our appetizers going since the restaurant is so small. We got the shrimp nachos and stuffed jalapeño apps and they were so delicious! Very generous with toppings on nachos and the jalapeños also had a shrimp on them and packed with so much flavor! We then split the 3 sliders and got jack cheese & avocado on them and they were so tender, juicy, and delicious. Also generously sized for being sliders. I give Manna Bread & Wine 5 stars because even though the service had a few hiccups, it was an amazing experience and I could tell the staff were sincere and were trying hard.

The food here is okay-good. As in the food is good but I would not come back just for the food at this establishment. I tried a couple dishes during my dinner here. — Crab Cakes: Yummy, I enjoyed this dish. There was a good amount of crab and the flavor and texture was pretty good. — Cheese & Queso Dip?: I think this was okay… the flavors were nothing special and it was more like a cheese fondue or thats what I want to compare it too — Portebello Salad: I enjoy salads alot but again this was okay. The way they cut the portebello into thin slices is a nice enjoyable touch. The salad dressing they use is also more sweet than savory — Salmon with Chutney: This salmon dish was one of the best. The salmon was cooked well and the chutney complimented it flavorfully. Since the food is just okay — the 4 stars is attributed the lovely décor. Its very well decorated and romantic. Perfect for a date night. Sit outside to enjoy the green surroundings and twinkly lights — however you do get mosquito bites after — which I unfortunatly got a few.

Food is amazing. There are no other words to describe it. The staff is the best, they will really try to make your evening enjoyable. The bartender, Cousin, is the best! He is incredibly knowledgable about every wine and whiskey they have available. I highly suggest that if he is working, wait to be seated in the bar so he can help you personally. I only have one minor complaint about Manna, the music skipped. But if I have to deal with some sub-par music to enjoy the best food and service, I’m okay with that.

This place is so unique from everything on their menu to their decoration, location and ambiance. I love how they have a little wine and whiskey bar called Milo’s attached to it. I ordered takeout(we were traveling and had the dog with us) and my boyfriend had the Monte Carlo sandwich and I had the apple crisp salad. The Monte Carlo sandwich was nothing like I had ever tasted before. It was a deep fried sandwich sprinkled with powdered sugar on top. Inside it had melted cheese and turkey and ham(I think) and a side of jam accompanied it. IT. WAS. PHENOMENAL! The outside of the sandwich tasted like a beignet since it was fried and sprinkled with powdered sugar, and the melted cheese with meat was a great contrasting savory taste that complimented the beignet flavor. Like I said it was nothing like I have ever tastes before. It was like a beignet sandwich! I had the apple crisp salad which had spring mix, chicken, goat cheese, nuts, tomatoes, cucumbers and sliced apples. It was already tossed to perfection(except for the dressing) and the dressing was light and tangy, and didn’t have the vinegary overwhelming taste. I am definitely going to come here again next time I go thru Lubbock to taste another item off theirs menu. And last but not least, I loved their signed Emeril Lagassi apron/chef blazer they had on the wall!
