When you shop at this place, make sure you done your math. I was overcharged, not by a few bucks but over $ 10 by the cashier lady who didn’t give me a receipt. This 4th of July weekend my family decided to go to Lowell to get some cambodian groceries. We also stopped by this Yummy Express. My brother and I ordered 6 regular sandwiches which was $ 21($ 3.50 each). We also grabbed 10 of those dried cakes which would cost $ 6.25(2 for @1.25) and 5 nom packages for $ 6.25($ 1.25 each). When we brought those merchandises to cash out, the lady charged my brother $ 45, yet it would have been only $ 33.50. We didn’t realize it at first until we took off. With 2-hours long for driving back home, so we reached out for some snacks that we bought, just to find out we got ripped off. My parents were pissed off, and wanted to turn the car back to Lowell but my brother didn’t since we were already on the Highway. This place is a crook, be careful when you shop there, those ladies will jerk up the price if you don’t pay attention.

The sandwiches are so flavorful it would be better if its softer, it’s on the crunchy side. They put plenty of meats and veggies. For $ 2.50 it’s a steal, I bought larb beef its discussing what a waste of money. I also bought nem, knom ko, green mango, and steam eggs, all of was good except he forgot to bag up my green mango, I guess he’s busy that day, I didn’t realize it until I got out of town & its too late to go back and complaint. Over all this place deserve a four star because the sandwiches are the best I’ve ever had in my life, it would be much better if the bread wasn’t so crispy all over the place. Lol

I don’t normally write reviews but I just had to for this one. They overcharged me there. I didn’t realize it until I got home. I ordered a small cha kroeung($ 5), small prahok kteas($ 5) with vegetable(additional $ 2), pre-packaged papaya salad($ 5), bubble tea(I’m guessing $ 5 at most, i forgot), and a pre-packed order of spring rolls($ 3). If you do the math, it turns out to be $ 25. They charged me $ 38 bucks!!! They ripped me off $ 13 bux. So the lady who rang up my order was the same lady who handled my food preparation, so she knew i asked for a small… not a large. For those two small items, she charged me $ 10 each instead of $ 5 each. When she told me $ 38, i was like holy crap, that’s expensive. My gf and I was just looking for some cheap eats, I should have gone out to a khmer restaurant instead with better food and would have gotten more food than what I’ve ordered at this place. That place is over-priced to begin with but when they start ripping me off like that, I’ll never go there again. It wasn’t like it was busy, so she had the time to do my transaction. There were only three people in the store. There’s no excuse for her to mess up my transaction. She definitely swindled me out of $ 13. I just wanted to share my experience with people so when you decide to go there and purchase something, watch for that lady!

It’s small and I’m not sure how OSHA compliant and the parking lot is an absolute zoo. If you survive parking the banh mi is absolutely fantastic and worth the harrowing experience. I crave these awesome sandwiches often and only come here for them. You could make their food last for a few meals with the change you find in between your cusions. Delicious and very cheap.

Yummy Express is situated near the Pailin Plaza and Boys and Girls Club. It is on a very busy road. It’s ALWAYS busy! It shares it’s small(free) parking lot with an Asian market. but it is seriously packed with patrons(and non patrons alike). There’s also off street parking. My family and I come here when I’m too lazy to order/wait for something decent. I know I’m not going to get anything out of this world or especially delectable. but it has all the comforts of Cambodian quick foods. That said, I don’t think anything here is impeccable or particularly awe-inspiring, but my non-Asian H finds the items sold(depending on what’s in demand for the season) amazing. The flavors aren’t what he’s used to in Hispanic cuisine. Haha. It’s a great spot to come in and out for really cold drinks, Cambodian-style deli banh mi, shaved ice or beef skewers. I ALWAYS crave pork buns. but this is NOT the place to get them. Seriously– pass!

When I am feeling lazy or in a rush, we head to Yummy Express on Branch street to grab a sandwich, meat steamed bun or noodle dish. The fast food mom and pop’s shop is tucked in a parking lot in an area known as «Cambodian Town» at the intersection of Branch and Middlesex street. In that area, there are many restaurants, Cambodian grocery stores, jewelry stores, travel and immigration agencies and salons. Parking is sometimes tricky on the weekends because the lot is usually full from the Cambodian grocery store a throne stone away. I always get overwhelmed when I go to Yummy Express because I never know what to get. My husband usually sticks with his Beef sandwich which is almost like like the traditional Vietnamese Banh mi with beef lieu of the ham and head cheese cold cuts. For a baguette filled with cilantro, carrots, daikon, meet and special mayo pâté, the light entrée only sets us back $ 3.00. He also likes their dried beef jerky and beef on a stick with pickled vegetables, both for $ 5.00 a package. I never leave without getting their eggrolls, 3 for $ 1.25. They’re not the best in town but they hit the spot. We almost always get their fresh spring rolls when available, a 3-pack is about $ 3.50 with sweetened fish sauce. The last time I was there, I tried the«Nom Pa Chok» noodles. They are served in plastic containers with all the Cambodian herb and vegetable fixings with the curry sauce in a bag. The meal only set me back $ 3.00. I took it home and put it in a real bowl. What a great bargain! They also have cold noodles with egg rolls, vegetables and meats available in packages ranging from $ 3.00 to $ 5.00. These noodles are typically served with sweetened fish sauce. Also available are home cooked entrees. They are set up in a Cafeteria like style display and you tell them what you want and how much of it. There are different size takeout containers set at difference prices. My favorite is the«som la machew kroeung» with beef and«pra hok ka ti», Cambodian curry pork paste. You can cook rice at home or grab additional rice for $ 2.00 for a small box or $ 5.00 for a large. They also specialize in Cambodian dessert and offers quite a selection of glutinous rice cakes, waffles and balls and coconut based treats. Like all the other restaurants and shop. they also have bubble tea with pearls in all the popular flavors. Check them out! You can get lunch for $ 3.00 or less! THISIS A CASHONLYESTABLISHMENT. I don’t like this place. The prepackaged food was a little overpriced in my opinion. What I HATED was the horrible service I received the day I went there. The guy behind the counter sees me coming with my order. then decides to disappear to the back of the room. and from what I saw. cut up some meat in the back room which looked highly unsanitary. Then by the time he came back, there’s a line of people waiting behind me. He makes no attempt to apologize for keeping me waiting so he could chop some meat and just gave me this rude stare like I was taking him away from something important. It’s your job to ring up my order when I come up to the counter! I won’t be coming back here again. The only good thing about this place is that it’s located in a spot that has plenty of parking. and there’s a fairly large cambodian grocery store right across the parking lot from it. but needless to say. this place was horrible.

Every time I go to Lowell, I always make a point to stop by this place. I love the variety that they have to offer, especially the bubble drinks. I would give this place 5 stars if it wasn’t so small and always so crowded; it feels like if there was ever going to be an emergency I would get trampled to death.(okay a bit of an exaggeration but you know what I mean.) Something else that’s also kind of annoying is whenever I go in to order a bubble drink, there is this one girl there that, I swear looks and sounds like she straight off the boat, would speak broken English to me despite the fact that I speak fluent Khmer to her(raised here all my life but thanks to my addiction to Thai/Chinese drama my Khmer is AWESOME… well it’s good…) Hey I have no problems with FOB, dang it most of my elders are FOBAFTER20+ years in this country. It was just the way the girl was acting, it just came across as a little snobby I guess. Anyway, that’s just my own thing… aside from the size, I like this place and will be a returning customer.

I love Yummy Express! They have so many To-Go options and to-go cambodian dishes! I love bun in the little boxes, only 5 $! The banh mi is okay. The beef jerky is so yummmy. Also they sell banh cuon on the weekends but you have to go there early, they run out quick! I wished they had peanut sauce for the coi guon(spring rolls)

Its ok. The food is not amazing. Its just ok. The service is not so great. It is always crowded there bc the place is so small. There are no tables and it seems like they can’t tell who’s first. I usually go there if my husband requests it. He loves their tamarind soup. I don’t think its all that great. Last time I went there, I was in line behind 2 people. They saw me in line also. Took their orders and when it was my turn, she proceeded to take the order behind me. Bewildered and annoyed, I told her that I have been waiting. She looks at me and ignores it. So I said it in Khmer. She then tells me that i will be next. But then walks off after she finished the other customers order. I walked out after that and went to heng heng across the street. Their service is so much better and its not as crowded.

Fast food Asian style. Decent array of soups and stuff I don’t really pay attention to. I’m all about that banh mi(viet) or nom pang patey(khmer)! The sub is good for a quick fix ready in a minute or two depending how picky you are T_T Also, there is a wide array of shakes that can be made .with powder. It’s like these two foods go hand in hand! Gotta have a «fruit» shake with a sandwich. Yummy!

This place is kind of like heng heng fast food across the street from it, but with much more stuff. The sandwiches are okay, ordered it once here and never again. The eggrolls and prepackaged food like banh cuon and spring rolls and really good! They have a lot of authentic cambodian dishes already made and ready to be scooped in containers. The caramelized sugar donuts are really good! It’s basically an asian fast food place. I like this place, minus how small and crowded it gets!

Great place and extremely crowded on the weekends. I usually don’t come here because of the lines and it seems like no one speaks English(khmer or vietnamese i guess?). And the quality of the food is solid, but not superior to the others. Pros: 1)Sandwiches(BBQ Beef) 2)Spring Rolls– but there is little filling in them, yet still good 3)Other Southeast take-out food Cons: 1) Parking(although there is a lot. good luck) 2) Service is horrible and you should start yelling once you get in there to order

I used to go to Yummy, but now I’m more of a Heng Heng fan. They used to offer a few more dishes that were a bit more appealing to semi-adventurous Westerners, but I rarely am I tempted to buy anything there. The prahok ktis(?) is good, though, but I miss the chicken with lemongrass. Now they serve offal with lemongrass. Lots of dishes with offal, but, to each their own, I guess. I do often pick up bags of sticky rice, orders of nam chow/goi cuon, or spring rolls, though, and my kids like the bubble teas.

Not quite sure why Unilocal has this listed as closed when in fact I was in this very shop earlier today. I’ve also been back to this shop for their tasty sandwiches numerous times over the past months. With many other Vietnamese Sandwich shops within the area, I can honestly say that this one is my 2nd favorite place to stop in. Located in a parking lot in one of Lowell’s busiest districts, Yummy Express makes some pretty darn good business and also dishes out some of the best sandwiches around. The sandwiches here, although they are of Vietnamese origin, are made with a unique Cambodian flavor, not quite sure what it is exactly but by tasting it you can easily tell the difference. Big fan of the subs they got going on here, fine cuts of meat and fresh ingredients are put on every sub. Their cold cut combo comes packed with different kinds of meats and fresh crunchy fermented carrots that compliment each other. They also put this special sauce blend on each cold cut sub which also gives it that extra kick, again not quite sure what its made of exactly but it tastes pretty darn good. Their BBQ sandwich here is also a killer, marinated BBQ beef on a freshly toasted french baguette with fresh veggies on top, add that with a side of bubble tea and BAM! Instant tasty, inexpensive lunch. Prices here are fairly cheap with subs ranging from $ 2 — $ 3 each. They also serve numerous flavors of bubble tea and other local dishes, ready to be served for takeout such as spring rolls with dipping sauce, Hot pot, Ethnic stews and sweet desserts and treats from Southeast Asia. Servers here speak mostly Cambodian but can easily scrap together some English to get your order right. Good eats, cultural and inexpensive, grab a bubble tea on the side and you’re good to go.
