Five stars hands down because they make the best bánh mì(«combo») I’ve ever tasted. I’ve had these sandwiches elsewhere and nothing compares. It’s the perfect portion, meat is flavorful, veggies are fresh and the bread is crispy. So delicious! They have a wide selection of bubble tea, my favorite ones are the mango, avocado, coconut, milk tea and thai tea — always with boba! I’m also a fan of their egg rolls which is almost as good as my mother’s recipe. Some other items they sell are random snacks and regular drinks. Also, their new shop is more accessible and cleaner than the previous location. Whenever I’m visiting Lowell, I always try to stop by for their goodies!

Their new location is awesome! I would order out everyday if I could afford too… Love the sandwiches and Eggrolls. The place is very clean compared to the old location. Parking is easy because you also have the side street to park on.

This is my favorite Banh Mi(Vietnamese Sandwich) shop in Lowell. Been a patron since they first opened(I’d say since Mid 90’s). Staff: It’s a family-run business and they’re all very friendly. It is a to-go joint and the premise is clean and neat all of the time. Food: I usually order a regular combo Banh Mi. The baguette is always toasty and crunchy. They have other sandwiches too(BBQ and such). You can find ready-made egg rolls, spring rolls to-go too if that’s what you desire other than sandwiches. Price: Regular combo Banh Mi used to be $ 2 a long time ago, but prices go up everywhere so it’s not a big deal. I believe it’s $ 4 now per regular combo sandwich. However, $ 4 price doesn’t bother me because I know I will be full. Conclusion: Yummy sandwiches, so give them your business!

The beef barbeque inside the banh mi is very well seasoned. The sandwich tasted fresh with crunchy vegetables. The store has very good impression– clean, neat and tidy. I recommend everyone to try their sandwiches and other asian delicacies. The shop could use a table or bar for customers to dine in. Now it is just take away place.

I love this place. The young man and his family that run the store are all very friendly. Banh mi is delicious with a lot of varieties. So is their bubble tea. Their banh mi is a dollar more than most Cambodian stores that sell them, but they’re so much better that I don’t mind one bit paying that extra buck. They deserve a tip too. 10⁄10 service.

I first heard about this place from a now missing blog called the Bistro Broad, in spite of the fact that it’s in my neighborhood. Since then I’ve been a regular customer. Everything I’ve eaten there has been outstanding. I split my work time between Lowell and Concord, NH and I’d estimate that I have lunch at this place 90%(or more) of the days I work in Lowell. I tend to get the same thing most days; 1 order of fresh spring rolls, 4 fried egg rolls and a bag of chips. The total comes to $ 11.07. Some things worth mentioning: They have a good selection of Thai Lays potato chips. Flavors like, Lobster Hot Plate, Sweet Basil, Spicy Nori, Hot Chili Squid, Meng Kum Pla and Seashell. They have amazing yogurt that they make in-house. You can get the original Red Bull.

Two star for sandwich. Terrible service no smile or emotion looks like they hate working there, we are there to give you the money not take your money. Wake up and change the attitude

A total hole in the wall that is easy to miss. The address is listed as Dutton Street, but in reality, you have to turn right on Fletcher Street, and then turn another right on another side street between 2 buildings(looks like it’s called Worthen Street) to access the entrance. Look for a sign that says«Furey’s» which looks like it’s a now out of business pub, and turn right immediately on that street. Had the combo sandwich($ 4) which was delicious, as well as the BBQ Beef($ 5,50), also very good, just a little spicy flavor. Incredible deal. Also bought some pre-prepared spring rolls with shrimp and pork. Would come again for the banh mi fix.

Went here for the first time today and really enjoyed our sandwiches and bubble tea. We both got the combo sandwich and everything was really fresh and flavorful. I might get extra pickled veggies next time because they it adds the perfect zing and my partner and I love spice(the jalapeños were the best). Avocado bubble tea was good, but I think I may get mango or something a little sweeter next time. Service was really good too. Everyone was helpful and patient. Look forward to going back during summer and picking these up for a picnic or the beach. For $ 4 you won’t find anything better or more fresh!

VERYRUDEPEOPLE! I WILLNEVEREVERBUY A SINGLETHINGFROMYOURSTORESAGAIN! am Vietnamese but I can’t stand these type of Vietnamese people. What is good in business to looking down at your own customers? I have been buying food from these stores for almost 2 years now because of a very few Vietnamese choices we have in Lowell. Their customer services have never been nice but today it was just unbelievable. I and my friend went to buy fish cake sandwiches for tomorrow classes. All I asked is to put the fish cake and sandwiches separately because I don’t want them to go bad before tomorrow. But the lady told us «It is outrageous to put the pickles aside not to mention that you want to put the fish cake separately» so that she didn’t sell them to us. I don’t see why it is «outrageous» to ask for such simple thing. They sell PLAIN sandwiches to me all the time. WTF is wrong with my request!?! I am still paying for my food, ain’t I?

This is the first and last banh mi I’ve ever had. By that I mean it was so perfect(combo, $ 3.50) that I can’t imagine getting one anywhere else, for fear of disappointment. I’ve been back several times with intention of trying the other varieties, but I just can’t tear myself away from the combo(fatty pork and various cold cuts with pickled vegetables, cilantro, mayo, and a pâté that is to die for on a crispy French roll). This might just be the best sandwich in existence. I always grab one if I’m on a road for some great picnic food. Recently I got their banana leaf sticky rice with pork and mung bean(as well as some other vietnamese goodies)– amazing stuff. Other than being a sandwich shop, they also have a small grocery selection with Asian drinks and snacks(like exotically flavored potato chips). The staff is friendly and happy to answer any questions about their food(and they will customize your sandwich!). The clean and spacious new location is a plus too. I could go on and on. Great quality, great portions, great price(super cheap eats!!), great service. I’d give it more stars if I could. Hong Cuc is half the reason I decided to move to Lowell, the other half is my boyfriend xD He says: «these mystery chips taste like fruity pebbles»

My first visit, on a blisteringly cold and gray Monday afternoon. It’s tucked away next to one the canals, and easy to miss. Shabby exterior and equally unimpressive interior. Nevertheless, the Barbecued Beef Banh Mi that I tried was very good. Exceptionally crunchy baguette, nice veggies, good flavor and an impressive amount of slightly chewy but tasty beef. Good deal for $ 4.50. I should mention the friendly and efficient staff. Good place for a quick sandwich or a bubble tea. There is plenty of parking spaces, which is a plus.

Real deal. They are moving a short distance away when the business/building sells. This is now on my list of legit food stops.

Hong Cuc Sandwich Shop Great Sandwich!!! Find the front of the store, park your car, walk in, and get a great sandwich. To summarize this place one should get over their preconceived notions of where they get something to eat and what that place looks like. Walking in, there is much to look at and take in. If you are just looking for one of the best sandwiches you will ever eat then go right to the high deli case and look for the sign with the list of sandwiches they sell and place your order. My sandwich was fantastic!!! Fresh, light, and crunchy bread, flavorful fillings for an extremely satisfying experience for $ 4.00 you cannot go wrong. Life Lesson No Charge Bring good old fashion cash! I read too many reviews of people complaining about the acceptance of credit cards. I would rather have the restaurant be successful then see another complaint about restaurants going out of business. As a FYI to the consumer every time you swipe your credit/debit card through the credit card machine the restaurant gets charged anywhere from 10 cents and up to 90 cents depending upon the card and the points you get from using your card. Small business struggle to absorb that cost! Please save your credit/debit cards for the national chain stores that can absorb that cost. Cheers Always Searching for a Great Meal DAJ

Normally I wouldn’t go here after the terrible experience I had on the 29th of August back in 2013(my last review) but I was along for the ride as my brother went to go pick up some stuff. I decided to go in and buy a few prepared items since I didn’t want to be irritated with their service again in regards to their sandwich makers. I got a 2 dollar cup of condensed milk jelly. For 2 dollars for such a small item, I was expecting it to be quite tasty but nope. It tasted like water. Jellied Water! I was actually pissed while eating it. I also got their spring rolls. and it was terrible. It may have looked«fresh» but once I got it home and opened it, I noticed it was too hard to actually really enjoy. The lettuce inside was browning everywhere and for 4 dollars I expected so much better. This place is such a disappointment… I don’t know how they manage to keep getting business for such sub-par food.

Many would agree that Hong Cuc makes the best Vietnamese banh mi sandwiches in Lowell. My family has been going to the family own and operated shop for many years. Today we visited their new location on Grand St. We entered the«Grand Eatery» and I was definitely impressed with the space. One of the sisters mentioned it was almost a brand new space and the building was only a couple years old. The shop was clean and spacious, unlike the other competition in Lowell. The refrigerator on the right was stocked with a variety of Asian drinks as well some common western drinks. It also housed pre-made desserts, snacks and sausages that needed to be kept cool. We got a Pork Chop prepared meal that came with white rice, one pork chop, one fried sunny-side up egg, nuoc mam fish dipping sauce along with cucumbers, lettuce, and tomato for $ 6.50 each. No trip to a Vietnamese sandwich shop would be complete without a banh mi so we opted for a # 6, a BBQ beef sandwich. The employee advised that it is the 2nd popular choice after their #1 original combo. I was disappointed that I forgot to ask for extra sauce but the crispy sandwich was still tasty. Besides the food, my favorite part of this dining establishment is that they ACCEPTCREDIT/DEBIT cards! I can’t count how many times we’ve wanted Asian fast food on the weekends and had to run to the bank or get cash back. To read more and see pictures, visit

My family has been getting banh mi from here since I was little! They make the best with liver pâté, mayo, fresh baguette, fresh cukes and cilantro, raw jalapeño, combo meats, and pickled veggies. A lot of places get lazy and don’t have that all and leave out important elements like the mayo or pâté. Not the same! They have different types of meats as well if you don’t like pork or the combo meats(some of the meats can be fatty in the combo — I usually pick those out and there’s still plenty of other meat). They also make some of the best spring rolls out there with pork, shrimp, mint, and shredded ice berg lettuce. There were other food options like vietnamese desserts and shakes but I haven’t tried them. Unlike a lot of the ethnic restaurants in Lowell, they speak good english here so it makes it easier to order and modify. There is no seating here. Got two combo meat sandwiches and two spring roll packs(with 3 each) for only $ 11.50. What a steal!

My wife & I went here yesterday based on the reviews on Unilocal.A great find! We had the BBQ beef, 2 fried spring rolls, Aloe juice & a mango bubble drink. All were fantastic… love the fresh cilantro in the sandwiches. The people were very nice… it was our first time there so we had a couple of questions, which they answered with a smile. Worth a few return trips to explore the menu.
