Very good food and reasonable prices. Better get your fill by the end of the month though. He’s closing his doors and will only be doing catering.

I love Flying Pig, been going there basically since it opened and its only gotten better since then. All the food is smoked on the weekends, and then frozen to reheat through out the week, reheated right in front of you which is a plus to me, i like being able to see how the food is handled as much as possible. Their pulled pork sandwich is amazing, great flavor and with their house sauce its delicious. And the baked beans are the best ive ever had. Strongly recommend!

Very great option for BBQ northern suburbs of Cincinnati. Location — located in a strip mall off of Montgomery Road north of the busy fields ertel area. A bit hard to find if driving north and not looking left at exact moment — with GPS headed there from North or South would be no issue though :) Food — BBQ was excellent! I had the ribs which were fall off the bone with a nice rub, didn’t need sauce but could indulge if desired. Meal came with two sides — I went with the baked potato and side salad. Baked potato was solid but salad was just an iceberg lettuce mix probably from a bag. Wife had a pulled pork salad which she enjoyed in addition to a potato. The meals also come with bread and a nice butter spread — in hind sight might have skipped the potato for something else less carb packed given the bread. Beverages — bottled beer and fountain drinks. We each had a Yuengling. Price — very reasonable, got out of here for around $ 30 with tip. Ambiance — felt like a diner which isn’t a bad thing. Restaurant looked clean. Flat screen tvs didn’t really fit in with the rest out the restaurant but not complaining about the added entertainment. Service — server was extremely friendly and attentive. Only compliant here is that we didn’t know how the meal payment worked out — we ended up going to the front register and I guess the tickets are kept there and you just cash out. We went on a very cold Friday night about a month ago at around 6 and were the only people in the restaurant eating in. In the hr or so that we were there a few folks got to go orders but other than that we were surprised how not busy it was. Not sure if it was the weather or location because it’s definitely not due to quality of the food — it’s great! Will definitely go back. They also cater which is a nice option for parties or work events(if your local).

I’ve heard great things about the Flying Pig Bbq and was told that the owner smokes the meat onsite. They are closed on Monday’s and non-football Sundays. Went by on a Sat and put a to-go order in. The owner and one other person was there to greet me and discuss their food options. I ordered a slab of ribs and smoked chicken sandwich. A good ribs joint should have a great home made sauce and smoke their meat on site. I was disappointed to see giant bottles of GFS Food service bbq sauce in the restaurant. I asked the owner when I can come back to get ribs right off the smoker. He told me he does them very early in the morning or on Friday around 7pm. They are then reheated for the weekend. The re-heating process is done in front of you and its an oven with a conveyor. While none of this sounds appealing, I have to tell you the food is awesome. The chicken has a great smokey flavor and the ribs are legit. I grew up in Jersey and remember real ribs. Then my judgement was clouded for years with the Montgomery Inn hype. If you want to duplicate Montgomery Inn ribs, put a slab in the crock pot then finish on the grill with the sugary sauce. Real ribs should take a slight bit of effort to get off the bone and you should tasted the smoke. Not liquid smoke or smokey sauce, but actual smoke! I will definitely go back for the food and expand on this review. While the sauce may have been purchased, they add cayenne to it and it is very tasty. A few side options are available with each order but are nothing special. If you want real ribs and real smoked food, this is the place to go.

Will soon be out of business. Walked in on a conversation with the owner as he was explaining how bad his business was doing. When I was there nobody was in there which is not a good sign. Then after I ordered they took out this frozen piece of meat out of the freezer and put it on a bun warming grill to serve it to me. Quick thinking me I made up a story about how I needed to use the ATM and would be back. Bad by me to walk out on them but hey they needed to throw that old ragged piece of meat out anyway.

Great barbecue that is worth the price. Cooked just right. Will be back as soon as I can to try everything else on the menu.

This place had one of the best beef brisket sandwiches I’ve had in a long time. The food is good, quick and CHEAP. Lunch is like $ 6. Eat in and get a refillable drink for $.75. Dinners are inexpensive here too. Fred is the owner, and was pressured into opening a restaurant by friends who loved his cooking. All in all, he’s had his restaurant for over a year since retiring from trucking. He’s a cool guy and I’m glad I got to meet him. Great sauces too.
