Neighborhood liquor store in Highlands with a decent selection. Not the cheapest but close and reasonable. On second glance a pretty good wine selection, I found a real nice 10 year old port(like pulling teeth in Bourbonville here) and the wine selection had some real fine labels as well. It’s a tight spot-narrow aisles-but the help is very friendly and glad to help. A pretty good and reasonably priced liquor store.

Schrecks is kinda weird– it’s really small and they have a huge selection of bizarre sounding liquor. And really cheap wine. When I was younger and broke I often took a chance on the wine and even some of the other stranger drinks. But I can’t bring myself to do that anymore– the last time I went with a $ 3 bottle of wine it was godawful. What I *can* and do often do though is stock up on their discounted beer! You can get craft(and sometimes domestic, if you’re into that) beers super cheap– think a case for under $ 20. It’s mostly seasonal stuff, and I’ve gotten some beers I’ve really enjoyed. For the price you can’t beat it. They get new stuff in every week. Getchu some! But leave some for me.

Great place to go for cheap liquor and wine! Be sure to go early because they aren’t open very late, nice neighborhood liquor store with a good selection.

Teeny-tiny. Miniscule. But a pretty impressive selection. The only things I have bought here are the weird, random $ 5 liquors. Because why not… they’re $ 5 for a bottle?! Might as well give it a try.

They say Hard Rock Café stores sell more per sq foot than any business in the USA. I would bet, this Liquor store holds that distinction for Louisville, KY. There are just 3 isles. I being the typical obese American have trouble fitting down them without touching both sides. Really, some people would find it impossible. I am an Old Jim Beam Bottle Collector & the sign out front is from the current owners father’s store that was out Dixie Highway. We are talking back in the 60’s. If you are a visitor to Louisville, stop by and see a landmark store.

This isn’t really the place to go if you’re looking for recs from people with a taste for wine and fancy liquor. I’m pretty sure these folks are more about the thirst for booze. And hey, I don’t blame them. Like Rachel says, they have ridiculously good values on their discount shelf. It’s a grab bag of random types of mixers, liqueurs and wine, but why not buy that $ 5 half a gallon of So Co Sweet Tea liqueur? That’ll come in handy for some mixed drink concoction! Lets just say living right down the street from this place has made it very easy to keep a stocked liquor cabinet full of things. The best part about this place is that if you find yourself needing to make a liquor store run at the same time everyone else is filling up the parking lot at Old Town and traffic’s jammed on Bardstown Road on a Friday night, there’s always good old Schreck’s right around the corner near Eastern and Baxter…

Convenient little location right off of Bardstown Road. It isn’t huge, but they have most everything. Mixers reasonably priced. My Maker’s 46 was a bit pricey — 38, when it ranges from 32 – 39 across town. Little shots were mostly .50−1.00 so that is really cheap. And the discount racks were damned incredible! Seriously. 3.99 and 4.99 for all sorts of stuff. Talk about time to stock up on random fun booze to experiment with. Cocktails at my house!
